The Alpha made his way over to the mother and daughter duo.
Bellatrix got off her mom and fell to her knees, pressing her palms together, ignoring the pains that came with this very act.
Her cheeks were stained with tears, her whole being was trembling as she sniffled, staring at his feet, too frightened to see how he looked at the moment.
“Alpha… Alpha, my mom wouldn’t steal.” She appealed.
“The jewelry was found in her bag.” The Alpha coldly said.
“I…” She didn’t know what else to say. She wasn’t there when her mom was taken away but she believed her mom was innocent. However, rather unfortunately, she didn’t have any proof to back up her claims.
“Raise your head, Bellatrix,” he ordered.
“Y-Yes, Alpha,” She quickly obeyed his demand but his death stare made her wish to be swallowed by the earth beneath her. Unfortunately, hanging her head low was no longer an option, unless he commanded it.
“I believe I gave you a warning?”
This question jolted memories of the dreadful day they discovered they were fated mates.
“Alpha, I didn’t disobey you, I swear!” she implored.
“So, the news I caught wind of, who spread it if not you?” he interrogated with a brow lifted.
Then he continued, “And I very well know your mom stole that bracelet because she felt that with you being my mate, I would pardon her crime, for your sake. You two must have celebrated that day and made several plans on how to act once you become the Luna. Am I wrong?”
She frantically shook her head in denial, “Alpha, we did no such thing. I…”
“I warned you that if you disobey me, I’ll let my pet snakes throw a party with your body,” he reminded her with a hostile tone, “And, I always keep to my word,”
Her face paled even more, “No, Alpha please.” She inched forward, wanting to grab hold of his leg but he kicked her chin, sending her backwards.
“Alpha, please spare my daughter. Spare her. She is innocent. You can take my life, you can feed me to the snakes. Let my daughter go, I beg you,” Vivian suddenly found the strength to plead with the Alpha.
“Continue,” the Alpha commanded the guard and the latter nodded before raising the cane to thrash the weakened woman once more, causing her to scream.
“No!” Bellatrix, crawled over to the Alpha and prostrated, “Please, don’t kill her. Alpha…”
“Silence!” he cut her off.
An eerie-looking cage was suddenly brought over with its bars laced with silver. Dwelling inside were two large venomous snakes, both hissing as the cage was being dropped to the ground.
“Spare… my child,” Bellatrix’s mum managed to say before screaming out her lungs again from the harsh and painful strike of the cane that kept tearing at her skin.
“Step into the cage and I’ll let your mom rot in prison.” The Alpha ordered Bellatrix.
Having no choice, his mate tried to stand but found herself lacking a tad bit of strength to lift even a finger.
“Throw her in,” he ordered with a scowl and Vivian suddenly initiated partial transformation, her hands becoming claws and her fangs becoming prominent with veins bulging on her skin.
Breaking through the restraints keeping her secured on the bench earlier, she rushed towards the Alpha and knelt.
“Throw me in instead, Alpha. Let my daughter live. She’s innocent. I was the one who spread the word about her being your fated one. I… I was there that day… I knew about your warning, but I got too greedy. I admit to my crimes. Please, let my daughter go, I beg you,”
“No, mum. Stop lying. You knew nothing about this. You didn’t steal. You didn’t spread rumors.” Bellatrix cried.
“Alpha, don’t listen to her. I-I’m her mother. I’ve not being a good parent. I got her injured this badly, just because of my greed. I regret not thinking things through. It’s my fault, Alpha. I deserve to die.” Vivian pleaded with the Alpha, cancelling her partial transformation and returning to her human state.
“No, mum. Please, don’t do this,” A desperate Bellatrix begged, hating herself for being so weak that she couldn’t even attempt a partial transformation like her mom did.
After shifting into her wolf form last year when she turned eighteen, she’d been unable to shift after that, no matter how much she tried.
Vivian turned towards her daughter and stared at her lovingly, managing a weak and quivering smile, tears eagerly rolling down her cheeks in streams.
“Be good. It’s due time for me to reunite with your dad. I promised to be with him no matter what. Now, I can finally fulfill my promise.”
“Mom… don’t do this. I’m the one to die in that cage.”
“Stop this boring drama and get in woman.” The Alpha had grown dreary of their moments of affection.
The guard came over and dragged Vivian towards the cage while Bellatrix cried even more, trying to rise, all to no avail.
“Good bye, Bellatrix. Remember, this smiling face and close your eyes.” Vivian said to her daughter as she was being dragged away.
The cage had now been open and shortly after Vivian got thrown inside.
“Look away, Bellatrix. I order you as your mother,” Vivian yelled before letting out heart-rending screams of agony.
Bellatrix looked away from the cage and bawled her eyes out as her mom’s screams continued sounding in her ears until she could no longer hear anything from the cage other than the snakes hissing.
“Your thief of a mother is gone. She has died for her crimes.” The Alpha coldly announced to a despondent Bellatrix, whose eyes were devoid of life.
“You killed my mother…” she mumbled as she turned to look at him. Gone now was that fear of being killed. Her only family was gone now; killed for a crime she knew nothing of.
Newfound strength got infused in her body and she rose to her feet.
“Are you happy, Alpha Aslan Robertson?” she asked, with her hands tightly clenched. “ARE YOU HAPPY?!”
A harsh slap to her face was the response she got from him but she willed herself not to fall this time. She turned to glare at him, “Are you satisfied, you son of a bitch?”
Her words caused many to gasp in shock. No one could understand where she was getting the guts to act like this. Was it because she had nothing left and already died in her mind?
The Alpha turned to leave but she grabbed his shirt and forcefully tore a part of it. Her hands, unexpectedly, had become claws successfully and her blue eyes had turned a glowing gold, with her fangs protruding. “Where do you think you’re going, you fucking murderer?”
The Alpha took off his shirt and tossed it at her, “It’s yours. You can stare at it while you rot in jail, you waste of space,” he then turned to walk away.
“I, Bellatrix Dankworth of Star Light pack, reject you, this scumbag of an Alpha mate, Aslan Robertson, as my mate!” she spat, causing him to stop in his tracks.
“A slave like you has no right to do so.” With that, he continued walking away with his Beta following after him quietly while two burly guards came over to drag a raging Bellatrix to the dungeon.
For someone like her who had insulted the Alpha repeatedly, she was to be put in the most secured part of the dungeon meant for hardened criminals.
It had been three days since the unfortunate incident at the pack’s square. Seated on the clammy, frigid floor of the filthy and malodorous cell was Bellatrix. Her throat was parched and her tummy had long given up on grumbling, probably having resigned to the belief that food and water weren’t coming. The assigned guards on standby never even looked her way and they deliberately ate appetizing food that made her salivate each time. But now, she’d learned to just stare at the walls of the dimly lit cell, way too exhausted to keep staring at the damp cell’s roof.‘When can I put an end to my misery?’ was the only thing on her mind. She envied her late mum; at least the latter wasn’t suffering like she was now. She’d barely had any sleep, and whenever she closed her eyes, she only saw her mom screaming in agony, a bitter reminder of what her cruel mate did.“I’m so sorry, Mum,” she muttered inaudibly, a stray tear that she couldn’t hold back slid down her face and she didn’t even bother
"Mistress,"A tall, slim, brown-eyed lady apparently in her twenties and dressed in an elegant maid's uniform, called out as she entered the tastefully-furnished and spacious room.Bellatrix, who had been seated on the comfy, queen-sized bed, staring blankly at the floor and seemingly lost in thought, turned her head to take a look at the owner of the euphonious voice.Upon noticing the maid, she got up almost immediately from the bed."Y-You are...?" She questioned the stranger with a look of incredulity. With her head slightly bowed, the coffee-haired woman answered with a small smile, "Replying to mistress, I'm your personal maid, Victoria. The Alpha has assigned me to you. Now, you will be my responsibility; I will groom you into a more responsible and charming lady fit to be the Alpha's royal breeder,"Bellatrix looked more of a servant than a mistress, from her demeanour to her dressing. It could somehow be seen that this maid had spoken with a hint of arrogance as if Bellatrix
The Beta of the Diamonds Claw Pack walked briskly through the winding halls of the pack house. His steps were confident and purposeful as they marched to fulfil the instruction given to him by the Alpha. As the beta, it was his duty to ensure that the alpha's orders were executed smoothly and without delay, even though it might involve pissing off the most important and most powerful woman in the pack. The Luna.Today, the Alpha had instructed him to summon his wife, Luna Katelyn to see him.The Beta approached the Luna's door and braced himself for the drama he knew was waiting for him behind the door.He knocked firmly, and as expected, the door was opened by an auburn-haired maid with a stern expression."Alpha has summoned the Luna to his rooms." He announced to the Luna's maid."The Luna is unavailable," she said and her voice carried a note of finality in it.Thankfully, the Beta was already prepared for when this happened. The Beta crossed his arms, unfazed."I am under strict
Luna Katelyn's Chamber. ~~'~~ Luna Katelyn lay in her chamber, half-reclined on the plush bed. The soft material of her silk nightgown gently brushed against her skin causing her to let out a soft sigh. Her room was beautifully lit up by the flickering light of the scented candles scattered across the luxurious room. They cast a warm glow against her silver hair, the dark wood furniture and rich, velvet drapes. This was the picture of perfect luxury. Katelyn sighed again, as she replayed the sweet memories of her husband’s intimate touch. The memories of nights with Alpha Killian were something no woman could easily forget. They always hovered like a stubborn shadow, constantly teasing her mind until she was craving for more. Her fingers absentmindedly traced over her skin, as she replayed the way Killian's hands had explored her body. He was eager and passionate so each touch had provoked a raging flame of desire inside her. She closed her eyes, letting herself get lost in the m
The sun was beginning to set over the beautiful garden in the Alpha's compound. The vanishing light cast a warm golden glow over the beautiful, expensive flowers that were mostly imported from the most expensive parts of the world. The scent of blooming roses mingled with the earthy aroma of freshly watered soil, mixed with the gentle rustling of leaves to create a soothing symphony for many people who came here to seek privacy. The Royal Garden was a sanctuary of lovers to many or a hideout where people's secrets and crimes could be whispered without fear of being overheard. Tina, Luna Katelyn's maid, made her way to this very garden just as it was getting dark. Her footsteps were silent on the gravel as she moved with purpose. She was cautious and her eyes scanned every visible area for any signs of prying eyes. This meeting was very important, and the utmost discretion was needed. As she approached a secluded corner of the garden, she spotted Victoria, Bellatrix's maid, waiting
A week had elapsed, and Bellatrix had begun to look even better than she was at the auction. On the surface, she seemed to have become closer to her assigned personal maid, Victoria, who appeared to be sweet, deferential and subservient. However, Bellatrix kept her resolve in mind- To trust nobody but herself. She was in a place where she knew nobody and she had no family member left in this world to guide her or to reassure her.In a place like this, schemes were the order of the day and she was no fool to believe that the Luna would be genuinely happy with her presence and role as the royal breeder. She guessed the latter wasn't yet aware that she and the Alpha of this pack were bound by the mate bond.Although the Alpha hadn't yet accepted her as his mate yet; he definitely was disgusted by her appearance at the auction. Sigh, she couldn't blame anyone other than her ex-mate for her bad fate, at least this one didn't treat her badly. One morning, she asked Victoria if it was possib
It was evening.Today marked three months of Bellatrix's stay in the pack, never for once leaving her assigned residence nor did she see the Alpha who brought her here. The Luna had not paid a visit either and she was long sick of seeing the same faces every day. Kardita had stopped coming over two weeks back. Victoria had informed her that Kardita refused to spill the beans on why she refused to come.Bellatrix guessed it was probably the Alpha or the Luna behind it. She was more willing to believe that the latter was the case, after all, Victoria's secret actions were living proof that the Luna despised her and wanted her dead. The Alpha had promised her freedom if she could birth him a child. Not just a child- A healthy, robust, male child- A heir!He didn't want anything to do with a female child who would end up without his surname and legacy- she would belong to another man, to another household.Bellatrix sighed in despair whenever she remembered this. If she gave birth to a cu
"Welcome back, Alpha," the Delta greeted."What's the latest buzz? Any persons tired of living made trouble?" Alpha Killian questioned as he took majestic strides, making a turn in the spacious hallway.Behind him was his Beta, Cayne Sebastian, dutifully following his ruler, holding a large, ancient-looking black book in his hand. The glasses resting on the bridge of the Alpha's nose seemed to be eager to accentuate his beauty, who could look at him and not feel a flutter in their hearts?Unfortunately, there was no smile spreading his lips, his aura was an inch away from being suffocating. But the two men with him were long used to it. An Omega would be cowering and shaking like a leaf by now.The Alpha had decided to pay a visit to two packs- Gray Night and Hellbound. The latter received the brunt of his rage. The newly enthroned Alpha of that pack, Vilian Grent, was a total moron; His head was full of nothing but beauties and enjoyment. In terms of scheming and business, he was com
