I stayed a few hours longer at the business dinner. I was too furious to discuss business with anyone else at the party. I ordered a whole bottle of Scotch and I poured myself a glass, trying to gulp down as much alcohol as I could to help me with this pain I was feeling in my heart. To think that I even left my meeting to come be with her. I offered to cancel the rest of the meetings just to take her home and be with her.

But she turned me down like an idiot and chose to go with that imbecile. As I sat on the barstool, I couldn’t help cursing at the bastard, wishing I had punched that dude and kicked him out of there before he succeeded in taking her home. He looked so proud as he led her out of my sight. I caught his smile as he opened the door for her, pretending to be a gentleman. She would never believe that he was such an idiot. She thinks he is just looking out for her and to her, he is way better than me.
