Jayden's POV

I sat at the sturdy bench, ready to lift some weights. Eric stood by my side, lifting a set of dumbbells. The atmosphere was a bit freer today since it was the weekend, and not many people patronized gyms in Foxtown.

The gym was well-equipped with various machines and equipment. There were rows of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals lining one side of the room. On the other side, racks of weights and benches were neatly stacked.

Phil stood behind me to help me with the lift, joking about how easily Eric was lifting the 100kg dumbbell.

I couldn't help laughing along with him. The brothers and I had grown quite close, except for Seth, who avoided any conversations except when necessary, but he was nice and I didn't care that much.

Phil was talking about the party last night, but I was barely listening. My mind was on Jovita.

There was something about her that seemed to calm me down. Last night, I had expected it, I had waited for the nightmares that always came, but when I o

Jovita's POVI glanced from my besties to Uriel. For some reason, I was feeling quite eerie around him, and I could tell something about him was different. My besties nodded in encouragement.“Lunch is okay”, I said, managing a smile.I wasn't sure about this decision. My guts were screaming a loud no, and my inner voice was reminding me of Jayden and I’s agreement. I was to meet with Uriel only under his watch.I struggled off the voice. As much as I didn't want another fight to occur between us, I didn't like the idea of him telling me what to do. I was a full-grown adult with a mind of my own.I watched my besties as they got into Maddie's car, promising to come to pick me up in two hours. For a moment I felt the urge to run after them, but I ignored the urge, turning to smile politely at Uriel.“Shall we?” He asked, leading me to the food section of the mall.“Nice meeting you again, Uriel, I'm quite sorry about how the last meeting ended”. My voice was shaky, betraying me.“It's

Jovita's POVI took in a gulp, stepping back. Was I about to die? I had asked that question so often in such a short time.In a blink of an eye, the vampire was on me, his eyes turning a strange shade of red.“Your blood makes me so thirsty”.Right now, I am desperate for the powers Jayden and the woman who claimed to be my mother had spoken about. I willed it manifest so I could save myself but nothing happened.I flickered my eyes close anticipating the pain, and hoping it would be quick. I had heard many stories about cold ones and their victims and how the tortured their victims before killing them. A tear slipped down my cheek but I quickly wiped it away. I should at least not die looking piteous. The intruder locked his gaze with mine, his eyes bloodshot red. I braced myself for the pain of waiting, but I felt nothing. When I opened my eyes, I saw a shocked expression on the intruder's face. I looked around but I could see no one but in the hallway. His expression went from sho

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   A dark place

Jayden’s POV I saw the fear flash in her eyes, and it pissed me off the more. What if I had been a few seconds late? Did she realize what had almost happened to her? I had finished working out after the drama with Betty and decided to drop by the mall to get a little present for Jovita. God, what if I hadn't stopped by this mall? What if I hadn't stopped by this particular mall! Anger surged through me at the thought of that cold beast, Uriel's hands on her. I released her involuntarily, pacing around. Thankfully a taxi stopped just in time, and I got into it, waiting for her to do the same. I was too angry to speak to her right now. She stood indecisively for a while. “Where are we going?” She asked. “Just get in”. She looked like she was about to argue, but decided against and got in beside me. When we reached my house, I payed the driver, heading for the beach, not glancing her way. I sat on the beach staring at the waves, allowing the beach air to calm me down. “I'm sor

Jovita's POV“He's such a handsome man, dear child, I wish I could go back to being nineteen, oh my gosh, the moon goddess sure has good eyes for matching couples”, my Mimoh gushed.I threw her a deadly glance, going back to stirring the pasta we were having for dinner.I had been on my way to see my besties to relay the event of yesterday, but I met my Mimoh on my way out, and somehow I ended up in the kitchen, making pasta and listening to my Mimoh's unbearable ramble. In my favourite evening dress!“Gosh Mimoh, I've heard enough, drop it already”.“Jovie darling, don't be a vibe killer, maybe we should invite him to dinner”.“No” I screamed, earning a curious glance from my Mimoh.Ever since the day Jayden dropped by my house in search of me, Mimoh won't stop talking about him.It was always “Oh my gosh he's so handsome, how could he be so perfect, his very respectful too, he even helped me feed my cat, he'd make a perfect mate for you, see how stunning he looked when he smiled, I

Jovita's POVI stared at my room window, nervous and unsure what to do. A part of me wished Jayden would jump through the window this instant, and another part cringed at the thought of seeing him.He said he was going to come last night, but he had broken his promise.Though I knew he wouldn't, I hoped he was going to show up. And maybe we could talk more about the Uriel issue. I had stayed up most of the night waiting, and woken up with a bad headache and a sour mood.I knew I had no right to be angry, but my stubborn personality wouldn't let me. Jayden was right, I had almost died at the hands of the person I called my ex-best friend, and it was stupid of me to still want to meet him. He had only tried to elaborate that fact to me but I had been adamant.I knew the guy I dined with at the mall wasn't the same Uriel I saw at Conan's party and on my date with Jayden, but I had no proof. What if Uriel was just playing games with me? A part of me couldn't go with that no matter how I t

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   Babe?

Jayden's POV“Go easy on the controls, man”, Phil teased, laughing loudly.I sent him a dagger stare, focusing back on the game. I had won him twice in a roll. The boys were hanging out at Eric and I’s house for the weekend.“Our man is quite excited for his date”, Conan teased Phil, playfully swatting his head.“Seriously, Phil is the only romantic dude in this room”, Eric said, erupting a feat of laughter from the boys.“Seth is quite good too. He was sweet on Jovita when we were younger”, Phil said. The whole room went silent, and all eyes turned to me and Seth. Phil scratched his neck nervously, throwing Seth and me a pleading look. I saw the hurt flash in Seth's eyes before he turned his attention to his phone, not saying a word.I felt slightly jealous at the thought of Seth being sweet with Jovita, even though it was in the past. I made a mental note to beat whatever he had done.“Who wants a glass of some vintage red wine?” Eric asked, heading for our cellar.“Me”, the boys

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   Is there something wrong?

Jovita's POVJayden led me into our garden, and I followed silently. A part of me was still wondering if he was mad at me. We had spoken during dinner, yes, but it was all formal and courteous talk, nothing more, and now he was leading me aside for a private chat, far from the eyes and ears of my parents. He looked stunning as usual in black cargo pants, a white T-shirt, a black puffer jacket, and black boots. His long hair was packed in a low bun, giving a mature look. When we got to the garden, he sat on the bench, while I stood facing him.“You said you were going to come last night!” I voiced out without realizing it, the words had been in my head, but I didn't know they were going to come out of my lips. The surprised look he threw me did nothing to lessen my anger. I knew he was the one who was meant to be angry right now, but I couldn't care less. I waited all night for him.“Did you miss me that much? I didn't think you would”. He had a growing smirk on his face.“You made a

Just tell me if you're not okay with it and I'll stop. His eyes twinkled with excitement and a smile spread on his handsome face. He was enjoying himself.I gave him a pouty face, refusing to answer his question. I didn't want to look stupid in front of him.“You'd never look stupid in front of me”. My pulse quickened as my hands slid under my shirt, rubbing my bare back through and fro. His eyes looked like they were darkening with each stroke.“I…umm.. it's just”. I wanted to say the words, I wanted to let them out I'll but to be honest I didn't even know what to say. Okay so, this is like my first time being intimate with a guy, and

We're now all sitting in the throne room.We buried Jayden’s father a week ago, and though there's still tension in the air, the fighting has stopped, and the pack is finally willing to accept Jayden as their leader, with me by his side.Marcus turns to me with another crown in his hands, and a murmur starts to go among the crowd.“I still don't understand why we have to accept her as our Luna”, one of the elders in the crowd says.“We won, you're hardly in a position to make suggestions”, Eric says. Jovita's POV“What do you think you're doing?” Maddie asks me as I'm dressing up.We're in the tent that was made for me and my besties, Betty, and I. I'm dressing up to go and join Jayden and the others on the battlefield. Things are getting tougher for them. This whole fight, as much as I hate to admit it, it's all because of me. If Jayden hadn't chosen to be with me, then all this won't be happening. I can't let anyone die because of me. Not anymore.“I'm going to join the others”, I say to Maddie, packing my hair in a high bun.“You’re not going anywhere”, Maddie replies, planting herself in front of me. Betty and Anne went along with the boys to fight, while Maddie stayed behind to protect me.It was agreed I wouldn't fight because of my supposed pregnancy and the fact that I was the major reason the fight was happening in the first place. Killing me would be the best way to win.“I have to help, they're all out there risking their life because of me”, I say to Maddie.“They're n

It's time to fight. We're all in our wolf form, waiting for the battle line to be drawn. My uncle is visibly the largest wolf among us, though I'm slightly close to his size since I have two wolves. My Dad who insisted on fighting with us is standing a few feet from us. He is a warrior white wolf so he is almost up to my size. My pack’s council starts to walk towards us. They stop just a stone's throw from us. They're three extremely old great whites that have lived for probably a hundred years. They're revered and feared by all.“I see you went to join your son, Edward”, Castiel, one of the trio says. He is a handsome, well-built man, looking very much like he just reached his fifties. He is the leader of the trio.“He is my blood, and I believe he has a right to choose his love”, my father replies.“The pack comes before love”, Marcus says. He looks a bit older than Castiel.“I've always th

He asked me to leave, so why is he asking for me now?My uncle walks outside his castle to a black Phantom parked in front of the building.“Get in”, he orders, taking the wheel.“Where are we going?” I ask.“To see your mother”, he replies.By going to see my mom, my uncle meant going to see my mother's grave. He took her body that day, seven years ago, and he never let us see her again.“Why are you suddenly letting me visit her?” I ask, trying to control the emotions raging inside me.“Because she has been asking of you. She won't let me rest if I don't help you, so I don't have a choice. My uncle runs his hands through his black long hair as he starts the car.“Does she speak to you?” I ask after a while.“Yes. His wet hair drips on my face, and I squirm, laughing. He places a soft kiss on my face before his hands start to explore my body. We haven't been this close since forever, and it feels good to hold him again.“It's fine, Jayden. You have to stop blaming yourself for your mother's death. You aren't the creator, and it was all bound to happen”, I whisper.“If only I had stopped her, things would have been so different”, Jayden replies.“It's the past now, and she would want you to let go of the guilt. I'm too shy to go out there to meet him in only a bra and panties. So I wear Jayden's shirt. I can't help but admire how his shirt smells like the rich cologne and the lovely smell I can only describe as Jayden. When I reach the pool, Jayden is already in the water. I can see water falling from his black hair. He smiles and pushes his hair back with one hand, his eyes twinkling with surprise.“Are you going to swim in that?” He asks, his eyes darkening as they take in my body. Impulsively, I tug at the bottom of his black T-shirt, trying to push it as far as it would go.“Yes”, I reply to his question feeling stupid. What was I so shy about?
