"I was just lost in my thoughts. Is there anything else you'd like to say?" I gave Alfred a friendly smile.

"That's all I know," Alfred hesitated before he finally said. "Can you please let me go? I'm simply an ordinary wizard, and I had a disagreement with these guys. I even used the flame wall to warn you. We, therefore, don't actually need to be adversaries."

"Yeah, I am quite clear." I agreed by nodding. I commented that he was certainly telling the truth. "I'm not going to kill you."

Alfred immediately bowed down in elation, as if he had caught a glimpse of hope.

"I am eternally grateful for your kindness!"

But before he could raise his head, he heard a blast of wind and a hammer slam into the back of his head.
