End of the Wave

In the world of monsters, it is well known that not all species are created equal.  Almost as far back as when the first dungeons appeared on the surface of the world Arc Wan. It had been noted that some monsters possessed greater individual strength than others of the same kind. There was such a dramatic difference that it could not be explained by a simple difference in skill level.

Over the centuries, as all the sentient species of the surface delved into the Dungeon in search of its mysteries, it was found that some monsters simply spawned stronger than others. Faster, stronger, more intelligent, and ultimately more lethal.

Typically, these monsters when they were mature had a tendency to demonstrate leadership traits amongst their own kind. They were able to gather bands of followers, groups of monsters who gained power quickly due to the leadership they received.
