As the group wandered deeper in the dungeon, it became darker. They were forced to bring out the lamps to not lose their footholds.
There are those who might argue that lamps are a waste of money in a dungeon. Exactly why?
Those who are trained as mages, a required class for many adventuring groups, are trained so that even without the help of any items except for their wand or whatnot, they could survive even in a dungeon. There are certain similar abilities in other classes as well, but that depends on preferences and inner potential.
In the hypothetical scenario of a well-balanced group, all the classes are grouped together in a dungeon with a difficulty they would struggle with, but they would be able to clear. They eventually come across the boss when they are further into the dungeon, killing mobs while the mages light the way.
The fight would become very serious… to the point where the mages would need to focus and concentrate
Creation core? Now that I look closer at the source of mana in the spider nest, I see an almost transparent, spherical substance floating in the middle. As a result, I decided it might be worthwhile to destroy this spawn point in order to learn more about the creation core. I grabbed the core, and the rest is history. PSSSSS! I'm burning to death! Thunk! My hands were so badly burned! What the hell is going on? It's so hot! Waiting for my hand to heal I called out my summons, they will be able to handle it. A sphere of crystal lay on the ground, and my summons looked at it with curiosity. It seemed to me that one of them would snag it up and eat it, but after a while, I realized that they all ignored it. One of my summons did not show any interest in the core and went on inside the nest looking for monsters. Probably, they want to get back to ac
My summons and I are able to make fairly quick work of the first wave of monsters on the 1st floor.Already ten minutes have passed since the wave began. Contrary to what I expected, there was nothing special about the wave. It was the same old battle between monsters, except this time, the opponents were people. In all of their Camps or tunnels that lead to the surface, human soldiers have put up barriers to prevent monsters from reaching the surface.I was amazed at how easy it was for them to kill the monsters. By joining together 100 Knights, they formed a barrier that completely blocked the entry of all monsters. As the monsters continued to attack the barrier without gaining any ground, the mages and archers fired their spells and arrows through the air at their enemies. It was a genius of a spell. An entry barrier that rejects attacks from the outside but allows them to pass from the inside. Only hum
Having observed the five barriers built by the humans, I devised a plan to destroy every single one of them.I have to destroy five at the same time as just one will not suffice; the humans will be able to fix it as soon as they can, so I must destroy five at the same time.In the last few hours I've already tested it a couple of times, despite having amplified and enhanced claws, they still couldn't scratch the wall. They weren't weak like the ones those mages had to defend themselves with. The barrier was questionable in terms of strength, no matter how strong it was, it would never be able to stop the attacks of thousands of monsters. So why was it able to do that without a scratch. The knights inside do not appear to be tired as they smile at the monsters attacking the barrier.Tch.So you're confident, then?Despite endless attacks biting, chomping, and slashin
[You have completed the Objective: Kill 50 humans][66/100]As I scanned through the messages on the system, I immediately froze. It occurred to me that I could have destroyed this barrier using another method or a different approach.I realized that, in the end, what I did was the best thing for everyone. There was no other way to put it. The demon would not sacrifice his life to save someone else, and neither would any human give their lives, their chances for power to save others.Okay, well, that settles it for me. This won't be the only time I come up against humans, for the journey is long, and I will meet many foes, human or otherwise. As the battle has begun, there can be no hesitation on my part.In the event that the death arrows I used had been perfect, more casualties would have resulted. All four of my arrows co
This stupid wave! Just how threatening does it need to be? I'm already in shambles.Cracks in the ground are visible in the middle of the battleground, and a hole the size of two people is visible.Through the smoke, I saw a few shadows as they crept through the hole, and it was evidently human beings.I managed to take control of one human camp and now they are making another right in the middle?Think about it! Which is the best course of action?Keep fighting or leave? As for the humans coming out of the hole, I don't believe they're going to be the same as those defending the camp. It is impossible to remain here and face off against the incoming competition. This dungeon taught me that one of the best things to do is to avoid fighting if you aren't sure you can win.Run?Run where? Now that the wave has passed, I realiz
[Skill type do not match with Host's class ][Skill unusable]While I did acquire skills from defeating the knights, they were useless. It is a complete scam, I even had the dream of acquiring all the skills so that I could be omnipotent. But now it is just a dream, and it will always be a dream. There is no need to worry though since I can become the greatest mage in the world! On the way back, I was caught up in the cores they were giving me and even killed some monsters because of them.Even so, it isn't a big deal, because if there is one thing that isn't scarce during the wave, it is monsters. Even now, there were monsters spawning out of nowhere. It's time for the next camp!Suddenly, a piercing hiss intrudes on my thoughts. This time it wasn't from monsters around me or humans but from the ceiling. What the heck is that? My body tenses up suddenly.According to my intuition, whatever was coming wasn't an ally. The monste
A worry filled Jean's mind.Almost impossible to see, the weathered lines on her hands were deep cuts from years of campaigning. A little extra gleam in her brow, a little more tension in her gaze, were signs that were nearly impossible to see.Legionnaire Historia had noticed. After so many years of serving in the imperial force, she was able to recognize subtle changes in her commander. As she tightened her shoulders, she continually thumbed the edge of her well-known blade, testing an edge that she had kept razor-sharp for more than twenty years.Warriors do grow old very slowly compared to normal people. Because of the rich mana and aura flowing through their veins, they lived twice as long as other people. However, they do not. Most warriors die before they have lived half the time of the average person. In the various empires of today, those who are able to survive and overcome the dangers are the ones standing at the top.It wa
The group emerged from the dungeon with joyous faces. The artefact that they had acquired was of Tier III with capabilities that will prove to be invaluable in combat. They hardly get anything like that from the multiple dungeon runs they have had. The discovery of something of that calibre was very rare. In most cases, they will have to be quite lucky to get a Tier IV when clearing dungeons. To get Tier III and higher artefacts, they had to either buy them from an auction or have them cleared through much stronger dungeons which, in their case, was more of a waste of resources than they would gain from selling the artefact. In general, they were not strong enough as a group to conquer a high ranking dungeon. As everyone walked out of the dungeon with pride for gaining a rare item for the first time, Amy, on the other hand, was panting lightly. She was exhausted and no one knew the reason for it. Some would joke behind her back that she took on a q
