A Quick End

Having my second life become a battle of oblivion wasn't what I had in mind, but maybe not everything works out as planned, so I guess it's inevitable.

It isn't my fault that I was born as an imp instead of a human, but hey, no point moaning.

When the beast finally grazed forward, I felt a tingle of fear run through my body as the impossibly wide mouth of the basilisk emerged.

No denying it, even though the human girl was supposed to be stronger, I am not convinced at the moment.

While she might be more powerful and rank than the basilisk, how on earth can she possibly kill a beast the size of a mansion.

Both of them evaluated each other, and both knew that a mistake could end everything.

However, the rest of the humans stayed as far away from the basilisk as possible, battling the rest of the monsters instead. As a few mages prepare to fire at the basilisk at the far end, another group of mages joins them.

That seems to be their leve
