A Baron's Son?

The snow kept falling. However, instead of big flakes, there were small particles of white that progressively coated the earth white.

The camp was as warm as early summer since a massive campfire had been built in the centre. Large portions of meat were skewered on sticks of wood as everyone, including the recently released prisoner, joined in.

They were too scared to speak and sat silently waiting for their meat to cook. Their eyes were bright. Perhaps that was the first meat they had eaten in years.

When I went out of my tent, everyone hastily dropped their skewers on the ground before kneeling respectfully.

Lisa's eyes welled up with emotions as she saw over a thousand men kneeling to her son.

"Husband, I have done a good job raising our son. Are you pleased with my achievements?"

She jerked in shock when a hand landed on her shoulder, and she was surprised to see that it was her son.

"Mother, this is only the beginning. I intend to make my mother the queen of our empire."
