Trigger warning: pain, mentions of animal foul play
/Lukas POV/
I inhaled sharply as soon as I stepped in the dark soil of Caligo. Every time I am visiting the hellions my power intensifies. As the land was built your only for containing the chaos and by the strongest of all demons it caused the surge of power.
They were already aware of my visit because it was a matter of urgency. I could not avoid Fang any longer and let him sit alone in the dark cellar all by himself. If something was wrong with him I need to know so that I can help him get better.

There were a few instances in my life which I'll deeply regret. And this is one of them. I should have known better than to wander off in the place which was unknown to me. Every turn I took led me deeper into the trees and I had no idea how to turn away. There was no way I could scream for help because the trees were so tall that my voice would echo in between them. I felt like crying because according to my watch I was wandering from the past two hours. My feet ached and I felt my throat dry with each step I took. There was no water nearby. Even though I could not see the sun, the heat was causing me to sweat, drenching the mid-region of my belly. Breathing had become a task. But I still continued to walk in the hope that I would find a way out.
As soon as I stepped inside my room, I slumped on the bed, facing the window. The one thing Lukas did right was get me the sea view. Even in anger, I was thinking about him. I groaned,d pushing my face into the pillow. The words he said still echoed in my ears, and it made me grit my teeth. How can he say those things as if it was entirely my fault? He should have warned me that I'm unsafe even in his kingdom. At the knock on the door, I curled up, refusing to respond. I didn't have any energy to talk to him or Kira. Anger was still bubbling in my stomach, and I couldn't answer any of them without snapping. If it's Kira, that's the last thing I want to do.
I stared at him, without blinking my eyes, scared that I will ruin the moment between them. For some reason, I could hear my heart beating loud against my chest. My breathing accelerated like I just ran a marathon. My hands were clammy. What was happening to me? I thought while staring at him. Was it just because of his touch?I leaned more into his touch, noticing how his eyes turned into a darker shade. I never got the opportunity to see the real colour of the eyes because they always keep changing colours. Maybe they are chocolate brown just like his hair, deep and dark. I wondered."Cara" He whispered inching closer. I could feel his breath on my face, which made me shiver. With each passing second, he closed the distance between us, and I was aware of the creaking sound of the bed.
/Lukas POV/Lord Yama wanted to talk. It was never pleasant to hear that. He can be very persuasive, so I have to be cautious. In the party, he asked me to meet his gang, which was mainly the women he bedded. As much as I wanted to get rid of them, it was nearly impossible, and I lost the trail of Talia on that night. She did seem jealous by the attention I was getting.Shaking my head, I walked down the stairs only to notice Dean and Leo sitting with Yama. By the look on their faces, it was something important."Hello" I greeted as I sat on the opposite couch. Yama was drinking his smoothie. It was always funny how we don't need anything to sustain, yet the food items are still lying around.Yama sat up and motioned towards green who was holding a scroll in his hand. The outstanding invitations or n
The moment I stepped near the portal I held on to Lukas. I had no memory of the time I was bought to Hell by Dean because I was unconscious for most of it.When Lukas said that I should go along with him to Underworld, I had no idea that Lord Yama will be joining us. He was invited to the Ball. I tried to read or find any articles about the mentions of Annual Ball. Unfortunately, all I could see where invitations sent to Lukas from different Hell.Leo was able to attend a few of them with Lukas, so he told me about what goes on. They hold various contests and games to bring harmony and develop friendship among Kings and Queens. The duration of the Ball usually depends on the host, but mostly it is around one week.Hearing all those things made me excited because I was going to encounter all
Persephone's question put me on the spot. Lukas did say that we cannot reveal the nature of a relationship to anyone because we were a gossip already. He was right as most of them couldn't stop staring at me the moment I walked inside withPersephone. They were all fascinated by the thought of a Demon King having a kid with a human. Before I could formulate my answers, someone interrupted the Queen of Underworld."Persephone!" I backed away as the two of them hugged, twirling each other around. The person or demon embracing Persephone was equally gorgeous. If not even more. She had straight long brunette hair, falling to her hips and wore a white gown. Was that an ongoing theme? Wearing white?"Hestia! It's been so long. I thought you wouldn't come"Persephone gasped, parting away f
/Lukas POV/It was frustrating how always someone or the other interrupted us. There was a guard outside the room who was reminding us to get ready for the dinner. I sighed but nodded my head and shut the door.Even though I wanted to talk it out with Talia, we had no time. I noticed that she was busy picking her clothes for the event. With that, I turned out and got my clothes. I needed to make an impression. Most of the demons love to show off even though they don't have much. These kinds of Balls are appropriate for this kind of silly things. I never noticed or cared for it, but now that I had Talia with me, I had to make sure that I was outstanding.I specifically ordered a handmade tailored suit. A sigh escaped my lips as I stared at the outfit. It didn't take me long to slip on th
I could feel the dampness in my palms, slippery with sweat. After dinner, Hades concluded it with a thank you speech and asked everyone to retire back to their rooms. It was clear that he was going to do damage control.Persephone trudged towards me, an apologetic smile on her face. It was marvellous to see how she handled the situation and calmed everyone. After Zeus retired to the room, she managed to bring back the spirit in everyone."Hey" She whispered, standing in front of me."Hi. The dinner was wonderful.""Well, I tried my best."I shook my head, "No, it was. I loved the duck, especially.""Thanks, I needed to hear

It took me an entire day in my room to realise how my life had turned into some book—a book without a happy ending.Zeus is my father and his wife wants me dead, not only that but Li Changying hates me and is helping Hera with her plans. Now that I thought it out loud, I felt my head spin. Lukas was missing, and I had no idea of him, which made it even worse. My "father" respected my wish and left me alone for an entire day. I was hopeful that I could also convince him to let me go to Lukas. There has to be a reason he bought me to his place. My heart gripped in fear as I thought about those shadows. Who might have sent them to attack us? Did Zeus do that? I should ask him.The door of my room was suddenly pushed open, and I sat up, brushing the loose strands of hair away from my
imp announcement at the end/Lukas POV/The fog around me was almost nauseating. I couldn't breathe through my nose anymore. My energy was being drained from my body as I was still bound in shackles. A whimper escaped my lips as I tried to move my hand. They were tightly bound. What was Jaxon's plan? Why was he keeping me in the darkest place I had ever seen? My dungeons in hell are far more luxurious than the rat hole I was in.There was no clock anywhere, so I had no way of knowing the exact time. However, there was a tiny glass window, and from there, I could tell that it has been two days. Two agonisingly slow days. No one came to see me. The sound of rats was the only thing I could hear. I tried to break free several times, but it only resulted in cutting my wrist even deeper.&nbs
I blinked several times at the family portrait in front of me. I was Zeus, daughter! How was that possible? My hand automatically moved towards my face, touching my cheeks to make sure that I was real. The image staring back at me looked exactly like me. My breathing became shallow as I moved back."No!" I croaked, shaking my head."It-It must be a...a mistake! That's-" "-not possible! No!" My legs crashed against the wall behind me as I tried to find a place. Zeus was by my side, holding on go my arm and making me steady."Breathe prinkipissa. You can't stress out like this with a more in your belly." He softly whispered, stroking my arm. We moved back until there was a platform for me to sit.The moment I sa
I blinked at Zeus. Was he for real? Lukas was somewhere far away while I was trapped in an unknown place with no means to escape. How would anyone feel in my situation?“How am I feeling?” I echoed his question, trying hard not to do something impulsive like punch his face. He is a God of Thunder for crying out loud. That will be the last of me if I attempt to harm him in any way.Zeus softly hummed, tilting his head to meet my eyes. “I know that Ingrid can cause headaches. He is too powerful for your human body.”“Why am I here?! Where is Lukas? Did he ask you to bring me here?” I questioned, hope brimming in my eyes.“You are all alone here. Ingrid bought
My grip tightened on the dagger, the cold metal burning through my skin. If someone had said that I would be battling the Inferus in the middle of the night with no army, I would have laughed at their faces. There was no way we were going to emerge victoriously. It was four of us versus them. That didn’t deter me because all I could think was keeping them away from Talia till she gets on the other side of the portal. As I murmured a silent chant in the air, a sharp metallic dagger appeared in my hand. I sliced the wind through the dagger, admiring the sharp silver blade winking at me. The dagger was sort of my gift for a job well done, something I got right after fighting the previous King of the throne. It can kill any demonic spirit, even the faceless shadows, but they did not die easy. The Inferus
There was darkness everywhere, almost pitch black. Lukas tightened his grip around my wrist, a loud breath escaping his mouth. We couldn’t walk out from there because the door was sealed. Who would do that? I opened my mouth to say something but halted midway when I saw them.A faceless army appeared in front of the door, silver swords in their hand which was crossed against their chest. They were like five of them, standing in a row. I squinted my eyes to take a better look at them, but all I could see was a faceless dark fog and baggy red robes.Fear gripped me; my hands suddenly clammy as I looked at them. My throat felt dry all of a sudden, and it took me a lot of effort to pull my eyes away from their gaze.“The Inferus” Lukas breathed, his hands clenching into fists by the side.
I parted my mouth open as Lukas sat on his knees. My hands immediately flew towards my mouth, slapping over it. Was he going to propose to me? But it was too soon. We did not go through the entire courting thing yet or whatever that is.“I want you to accept my pin.”I blinked at that. My eyes immediately fell on the shiny crystal object he was holding in his hand. It was a brooch with a huge black stud surrounded by tiny diamonds. The light from it was almost blinding. Was that his pin?“Uhh...your pin?”He nodded his head, meeting my eyes, “Consider this my promise. With this pin, I vow to protect you and our baby no matter what. You both will always come first and be my priority. Last few days have been t
