“What’s with you today? It’s unlike you to be so distracted.” Lev squints his eyes at her, as if hoping to extract some type of difference. The class had just ended and the three of them were planning on walking home together. It just so happened to be that all three of their houses were in the same direction, though Kira’s came first, then Lev and finally Enkeli.
“hahah I was just feeling a little tired today.” She scratched the back of her head in a coy manner.
“On the contrary, you seem more energetic.” Kira noticed.
‘Damnit Kira, why do you have to be so goddamn observant all the time.’ Seeing how Enkeli didn’t reply to her, Kira wondered if she had picked on something she shouldn’t have.
“There’s a new marvel movie
She buried her face in her hands.“Oh no no no. This cannot be happening.” She whispers, trying to push away the thoughts that kept recurring in her head. It wasn’t her who ran away. It was him!Enkeli wondered what was wrong with her but more importantly, what was wrong with him. He was the one who had started kissing her neck and then slipped his hands under her shirt to caress her back. As expected it had turned her on and she had really gotten into it. Then instead of just kissing, he was sucking her neck like his life depended on it.She walked to her dressing mirror and pulled her shirt aside to get a good look at her neck.“It’s definitely bruised. He is a demon, not a vampire, right?” She muttered to herself as she pressed on the bruise. The exhaustion spoke for itself, clearly he had sucked
The next morning , Enkeli woke up unusually on time. Unless she had something to do, like the summoning ritual from yesterday, she often woke up late and reached class just in the nick of time. The school was quite strict concerning punctuality, if the students were late even by a few minutes, then they would have to wait to attend the next class. She went to the bathroom and stripped down to take a shower. No new bruises. She smiled. The continuous exhaustion had also started to fade and she felt more energetic than she normally would. The leeches were taking a huge toll on her, far more than she would have liked to admit. Her finger tapped on the only new bruise at her neck and she saw her skin flush red. "Is this what he sees when I blush" She closed her eyes with a groan and walked into the running shower. She took her time, rubbing on some shower gel after soap and then washing her hair thoroughly. She wanted to enjoy this peace.Normally, she would take quick showers and that t
“Sure, I don’t mind. It’s a public place, after all.”“Great.” She muttered and then breathed out with relief and sat down on the bench next to his. “So, I haven’t seen you around before, what year are you?”He turned his body so he was facing her. “I’m a senior.”She widened her eyes. “Oh are you a new student?”“Yes I just joined today.” He stared into her eyes and then his looks lingered around her face. Enkeli gulped and tried to look anywhere else, she couldn’t handle the way he was looking at her. What was with him? Why was he staring at her like that. It made her uncomfortable but not in an unsafe way, more like, she could feel his intensity. She could tell that this was no ordinary man. It was a feeling that she couldn’t explain well but her gut has rarely ever been wrong.“Is that so? Welcome to the school! Which class are you in? I can show you where it is if you’re having some trouble.”“It’s class 1A. I went there but the teacher showed me out.”“Hey! That’s the same class
“The nurse isn’t here.” Kira had jogged ahead of them to the infirmary to check for the nurse. Since they didn’t have any other option, they decided to take care of the wound themselves.“I’ll just clean it with a disinfectant and then put on this wrap.” Lev tells her, holding her arm up gently. “How did you fall?”“Yeah, I want to say it was funny but I didn’t even see it. What happened?” Kira asked.“Uhh I just suddenly felt a bit dizzy and then before I knew it, I was on the ground.”“I don’t think it’s normal to feel dizzy for no reason. Do you have anemia? Or maybe you didn’t eat breakfast this morning?” It was Lev who questioned her.“That must be right! Yes, I must have forgotten to eat breakfast.” She laughed, shaking her head at her stupidity. It was all an act of course. She couldn’t tell them what she saw. It never ended well for her. The only time she had told someone about what she could see was when she was young and she pointed out monsters to her parents. At first they
That night Enkeli slept on the couch in the living room. Though she had spent many nights in her room with those monsters, it was the first time she had seen so many at the same time. Usually, some of them would go and a few new ones would appear but never once did so many gather in her room as if it was a supernatural party! "Can't they find another room to hole up in" She grumbles as she pulls the covers over her on the couch. It was far from comfortable but she had to admit, if she were to choose between sleeping with monsters or sleeping on the couch for the rest of her life, she would choose the couch. 'Where's the bodyguard when you need him, huh?' She had tried summoning him by pleading in her head, however, it did not seem to work. She also tried opening her book of spells and muttering the few phrases again and nothing happened. It made her realise that she never asked him how she was supposed to call on him for help. Then again, she did not expect that after cleaning her
Despite having slept on the couch, some of the leeches had gotten to her during her sleep resulting in various bruises all over her body. She decided to get ready in the guest bathroom and observed the bruises on her arm and chest. Seeing how she could not wear a half sleeved shirt, she settled for a long one even though it was quite warm outside. She put on some jeans and sneakers and made her way down the stairs. After eating some cereal and toast, she headed to school. She managed to reach on time and took her seat beside her friends. Bringing her attention to the class, she yawned. Her eyes were on the black board but from the periphery she could feel a stare on her. She looked to her right, Lev shifted his eyes to the board, knowing he had been caught staring at her. He told himself he was just worried and that was the reason. After all, she had fainted the previous day with that terrified look on her face. If anyone had saw her expression as clearly as he did, they would be w
The sunlight gleamed brightly upon the stone walkaway that led to the gate. Enkeli watched the bushes of flowers on the sides of the path while she waited for Lev to return. She decided that it was the best if she didn’t intervene. She had only known Agares for half a day and he had abruptly left without showing up until the next day, she had no idea what kind of opinion to form from him. As for Shedim.. well now that she thought about it, she didn’t know what exactly he was capable of. He was a charming flirt and loved to tease her but that’s about all she knew. As for where his morality lies and if he was the type of demon who could kill humans for fun, she had no idea. Suddenly, she started wondering if it was a mistake to summon him in the first place, did she unintentionally put all of her friends at risk? At that point, she was so fed up with her life that she had decided she would do anything to improve it’s quality. She hadn’t thought about how it would affect the people arou
Shedim suddenly felt the urge to clear his throat and wake her up since only 40 minutes of the movie was left. 'How tired must she be to sleep like a dead log in this loud theatre.' He thought. It also didn't help that it was a 4D movie and the chairs moved violently every time there was a thrilling scene. Surprisingly, she slept through all of it. Having had her energy depleted by those leeches, this dark theatre wasn't a bad environment to get some rest. She hadn't intended to fall asleep but now that she had, it was difficult for her to wake up. Shedim thought about waking her up a couple of times but whenever he looked at her face sleeping so peacefully, he couldn't bring himself to do it. Annoyance came over him. He wasn't the kind of person who 'couldn't do something'. He loved having control and hated it if another person had control over him. He wouldn't go as far as saying she had it, but clearly there was some kind of hold over him. This has never happened to him before.
This chapter is not part of the story so you don’t have to buy it. It is just information on demons from a book I enjoyed very much. Encylopedia of Demons and Demonology by Rosemary Ellen Guiley.Dealing with evil has occupied center stage in human affairs since our earliest times. Destruction, chaos, decay, and the ultimate darkness of death have often overshadowed the presence of goodness and light. Human beings have dealt with evil in three principal ways: by meeting it head on in battle, by warding it off before it strikes, and by trying to avoid it altogether through denial. The how and why of evil have been debated and discussed for centuries in religion, folklore, philosophy, art, literature, and pop culture, all of which attempt to explain why bad things happen, especially to good people. When evil strikes the wicked, we see it as the deserved consequence of evildoing. When evil strikes the righteous, we look for satisfactory explanations, often in vain. Everyone feels the tou
Grief in The Mind Grief is a natural occurrence that everybody goes through in their life. It can cause depression to some, but to others it is a way of coping with the loss of something incredibly meaningful. Grief can also occur from the death of a loved one, a change in your career, or the ending of a long relationship or a friendship. Grief can be any type of feelings people go through such as, being angry, being upset, having constant worries, relief, possible fear, or any other possible type of numbness. It also can be thoughts of despair and discomfort. Increasing your social life is one of many ways to quickly help the person get over the grief that they are experiencing.Although grief is experienced every day, most people do not have an understanding of what grief actually is. Grief is a deep sorrow, especially caused by someone 's death (Pbs). Death can be an overwhelming, painful, and frightening experience. Grief is classified as a strong, sometimes overwhelming emotion.
“The answer is no.” He laughed. “I don’t just like you, what I feel is much more than that. I don’t know what love is but if I had a choice, I’d live all my life with you and then some more. I would be willing to stay with you for as long as the earth existed. If you think that’s love, then so be it. I think the three of us made a pretty great family, don’t you? I really liked it when John, that waiter, thought you were my wife and munchkin was my kid.” He smiled was fulfilling, like he had no regrets in life.“Why are you saying this?” I pout, my eyes brimming with tears. “I.. I feel the same. You saved me.” My voice was too unstable to continue saying all the things I wanted to say to him.“I know how you feel even if you don’t say it.”I shake my head aggressively. I did not like the tone of his voice and I did not like where this conversation was going. He suddenly wants to confess his feelings? He wouldn’t do that at an inappropriate time like this, not unless he thought he woul
“You misjudged my character. I was never meant to be a demon.” He speaks. Lucifer raised an eyebrow. “Pretending to be a good boy in front of your girl? Let’s not forget the things you happily did for me. Slaughter, murder, torturing innocent children, I could go on and on.” I furrow my eyebrows. Torturing innocent children? He was just saying that to get on his or my nerves I bet, there is no way it can be true. “Say what you want. Let’s deal with this outside.” “Hmmm? How boring. I wanted your lover to watch as I killed you and then I’d take her after. Oh and her powers too.” He grinned. Shedim clenched his fists. “He’s just trying to get on your nerves.” I whisper. “Trust me, I know. That’s his personality in a nutshell.” He spit. “Ouch. Though I’d take it as a compliment in a heartbeat. Now, you.” He looked at Agares with a piercing gaze. “Give it to me.” Agares seemed to be in a daze still and responded to Lucifer’s words like a pet following his master whenever he was
“I’ll go deal with Asmodeus and you should stay here and make sure nothing happens to them. No matter what happens ,you can’t let Enkeli use her powers.” Shedim warned.Something was wrong with Agares. He was standing there blankly as if nothing around him made sense.“Stop me.” He grunted as he leaped forward towards Lev and attacked him. In an instant, Shedim pulled him away but Agares’s attack was so aggressive that he created a hole in Lev’s abdomen that was gaping and gushing with blood. He did this just with his hand?I reflexively scream and kneel down to him.“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?” I scream at Agares who still seemed to be dazed.“Fuck. He’s received a direct order from the master of the ring to kill any humans in front of him. I can’t hear the command but that must be it.”Shedim takes off his shirt and hands it to me, which I use to press against Lev’s wounds. He coughed painfully and gurgled up some blood that started flowing down the sides of his mouth right onto t
Note by author – You may skip this chapter if you’d like. Most of it is mainly information on some higher demons and the apocalypse. All the information I found was from the book Encyclopedia of Demons and Demonology by Rosemary Ellen Guiley. The lights flickered, on and off continuously until the bulbs fused and turned off permanently. The weather was getting more chilly, the wind started blowing faster and I shiver as it reaches me through the windows. I take a few steps forward, feeling my way around until I reach the kitchen. I was blinded for a few minutes but slowly, the moonlight had started giving me vision and I could see more clearly. The black spots covering my vision slowly faded.I got a few candles and a lighter. Lighting them, I placed them on the dining and coffee table.“Was that the sign?” I whisper. Did that mean the apocalypse had started?Shedim and Agares had found that out before anything noticeable even happened. They knew immediately that something was wrong.
When I woke up I was happy because of yesterday’s events. It felt like a real family. At least I got to know what that was like before hearing what I was about to hear. We were having breakfast at the table, all four of us. The swelling on Agares’s face had completely died down and in fact, he did not even have the black eye anymore. He looked as good as new. The healing powers of supernatural beings really was incredible, it meant I wouldn’t have to worry about them at least. The whole time, Shedim remained completely silent. No snarky remark or suggestive comment, not even one of those annoying smirks of his. Agares looked back and forth between us and raised his eyebrow, wondering if something was wrong.I shrugged my shoulders. I was just as confused as he was. Lily, on the other hand, was oblivious. Since it was Sunday, all she wanted to do was her homework from school then sleep some more. After eating her breakfast she yawned and headed to her room.He seemed to be done with hi
Next Chapter“Do you really think we should be idling around like this.” Enkeli wondered out loud.“There isn’t a better time.” His lips twitched to give a miniscule smile. She reluctantly agreed and changed her clothes into a dress. She checked up on Lily to see that she was completely ready and ended up in Enkeli’s closet to go through her jewelry box. Enkeli laughed and found her a small necklace (that was essentially a choker necklace for her but would fit more loosely for Lily.) It just so happened to be that both of them wore blue dresses.“How did you know I was going to wear blue?” Enkeli teased. “Aren’t you copying me?”Lily nodded. “You like blue.”She felt her heart melt. Lily really was the cutest kid Enkeli had ever seen. Seeing other people’s children being so annoying and demanding put her off at some point and she thought having children must be extremely difficult and miserable for parents but now she could understand why people choose to have them.It was still diffi
Back then there was a bit of an economical crisis. Shedim’s family sold trinkets for a living, just enough to feed their family of 10. Excluding himself and his parents, he had his grandma and 6 siblings. At a certain point, the trinkets had failed to sell during the period of economical depression and the ‘savings’ weren’t nearly enough to keep their family afloat. The first one to go was his grandma, since she had decided she had lived long enough and wanted her children and grandchildren to continue living and make the next generation better. The next was his father, who made sure his mom and siblings had enough food in their bellies. Then, of course, his mom would die too, followed by older siblings and at last, the resilient younger siblings remained. Shedim did his best to take care of her younger sister. He stole and threatened as much as he could. When he was caught and placed in jail, he asked only one favour of the police officer who looked kind enough to take pity on him. A
