Blake stayed in the small world, began tending to the plants, and stayed for a month. Blake returned to his phone, being bombarded with many voicemails from Claire.

“Blake!” Claire exclaimed when the call connected.

“What’s so important that you had to leave so many voicemails asking me to call you? Are you alright?” Blake asked.

“Blake. Would you be available tomorrow?”

“What’s wrong? Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, and I was wondering if you would accompany me on a shopping trip?” Claire asked, biting her upper lip in anticipation on the other end.

Blake looked at his phone, ensuring it was Claire’s number.

“I believe I could make some time,” Blake answered slowly in disbelief.

“Great, Uhm, Blake, why don’t you come home, and we can leave tomorrow morning together,” Claire asked, thinking she was beginning to miss him.

“That won’t do. You’re not finished with your treatment, and I will not sleep on the floor.” Blake said coldly.
