“I wouldn’t call this the slums mom, much less middle class.” Tabitha began her argument when Blake interrupted.

“Tabitha, could you give me a hand in the kitchen?”

Tabitha left them and followed Blake into the kitchen holding a few dishes. Blake placed everything on the counter when they entered and turned to her.

“Tabitha, I know you want to defend me but look at how adamant they are. Nothing you say will change their mind, so let’s drop it. It’s not worth it.” Blake explained that he felt it would be futile to try and explain if they were that convinced in their lie.

“You’re right, and the truth will eventually come out. I hope it doesn’t bite them in the ass when it does.” Tabitha replied after sighing.

Blake smiled, finished putting the leftovers into the fridge, and washed the remaining dishes. He then headed out with Tabitha in tow, not explaining anything to the mother and daughter left behind.
