Alpha Xavier’s point of view

My mind wandered to the very first moment that I laid eyes on her. My dog and I were already in hyper alert mode, and my heart rate was already beating at an alarming rate. All I could hear were the pack intruder alerts ringing and the pack warriors updating me via the pack mindlink.

My beta was busy saying something to me via our mind link when I just froze in place and stopped in my tracks. Something just felt off and I could not help my curiosity. Hints of cinnamon were in the air and smelt so sweet that I just had to find the source of it. Her scent was the first thing that hit me as I saw her small figure running towards me.

Her beauty hit me first, but her eyes just drew me in and caught my attention. I just couldn't get my mind off of her dazzling eyes as the moonlight reflected and shone through them. Something was off about her... I could barely see her through the thick darkness of the night, but I could sense her pain, panic, and terror.

She didn't see me at first as she kept looking behind her and down at the ground whilst wincing and groaning. Her alluring scent just called out to me and forced my feet to keep on walking closer to her. She struggled and stumbled for a few moments, forcing me to speed up my pace enough to catch up to her whilst not being intimidating enough to scare her.

The closer I got, the more of her I could see, and what my eyes saw just took my breath away. She was bare. Tattoos covered her whole body and brought my full attention to her skin as the moonlight reflected off the shiny ink. I could not seem to move any faster as I struggled to move my eyes from her tattooed collar bones, down her perky plum books, to her small waist decorated in a cluster of beautifully placed tattoos, leading to her belly button, and then, you know, down her curved thighs and... yeah that.

I awkwardly removed my eyes from her body as embarrassment washed over me. I was being a creepy, perverted stalker, and it just had to stop. I could not dwell in my embarrassment for longer as I saw her struggling to keep herself upright. I quickly wiped away any expression on my face, hoping she wouldn't notice how embarrassed and turned on I was.I wanted to say something to her, ask how she was and if she was OK, but I just couldn't speak.

As the beauty fell into my arms, district barely there sparks shot up my hands, arms, and chest. My heart started beating faster and harder as familiar tingles and needs washed over me. Something in me just stirred up at having her in my arms and I just knew. I could hear it being repeated over and over in my head. All the signs suddenly made sense and everything just clicked...

"Mate,"

Just as the memory replayed in my head and I repeated the word in my mind, everything just hit me, angered me and brought me back to my current predicament as I watched her from afar, like the creepy stalker that I am.

Everything about her just angered me to my very core. Her long, silky, dark locks of hair were flowing and lightly dancing in the night breeze. Her wild brown eyes are just constantly looking around each and every inch of the room.

Her small, petite, but toned frame All of the intricate and eye-catching tattoos that littered her body. My eyes would fix upon each and every curve of her body, but somehow I would manage to convince myself that I was just looking at her tattoos. Her weird dragon fruit and cinnamon scent just did things to me... ugh! She is just infuriating.

I don’t even know why I am looking at her, and I really do not even want to be here right now, but it is my job. Deep down, I knew I was lying. I knew that I could leave at any moment and no one would bat an eye, but I didn’t. I told myself that I was staying out of duty, but that was too obvious of a lie, so I told myself that I was staying out of pure curiosity and nothing more, but I knew there was definitely more.

“I don’t know...”

Her voice was like a catchy pop song... Once you hear it, you get lost in it and slowly find yourself unable to get it out of your mind. My face was voluntarily expressionless as I tried to not give anything away. No one in the pack knew or would understand. There was nothing to understand. My wolf was wrong. She could not be my mate... she just couldn’t. She was not my mate.

I am going to ask you again! "Who are you?”

“I don’t know...”

“What are you doing here?"

"I don't know..."

"Who sent you?”

“I don’t know...”

"When did you get the tattoos?"

I'm not f*cking!Kn-..."I'm not sure, I'm not sure,"

One of my pack enforcers was trying to interrogate her, and he was miserably failing at it. Every question was welcomed with the same answer... I don’t know. I could tell that the pack warrior in the cell with her was getting annoyed by her antics, and so was I. After the little tantrum she threw earlier this morning, we had to send in a pack warrior to make sure she did not get violent, but that just seemed to put her more on edge and uncomfortable.

“Why are you here? What is your plan with all of this? ”

“I don’t know...”

“What is your objective? Who are you? Give me a name, just something, ”

“I don’t know,”

I wanted to get her out of there... protect her and keep her away from both of the men who were currently intimidating and looking down at her. The enforcers' questions were getting repetitive and were slowly breaking her down as she constantly struggled to answer. The Warriors' low, annoyed growls were making her shrink back to her corner, and there I was watching it all from a screen, just letting everything okay out.

The urge to go rescue her was growing stronger and stronger by the second. I could feel my wolf pacing and frantic deep within me as he got triggered by the tears coming out of her eyes. He wanted to protect his mate, claim her, and mate her, but all of that was not an option, so I ignored him as much as I possibly could. The struggle to maintain control and not give in to his wants was proving harder than expected, but it was for the best.

“My answer won’t change. I don’t know.”

The slight crack in her voice just broke me... I wanted to rush out of the surveillance station, enter her prison cell, and hold her in my arms, but I did none of that. I just allowed all of the mistreatment and harassment to happen to her. I thought she was cracking up and about to break down crying, but I misjudged. She did crack up, but instead of breaking down crying, she went through a mental breakdown, shaking and being attacked.

One moment she was on the ground shaking with what I thought was fear, but it turned out to be anger. The enforcer did not even see it coming as his body hit the ground with a loud thud. Her technique, speed, and savagery were unmatched as the warrior tried to jump her and failed. She grabbed his hand, twisted it, folded it behind his back, and shoved him against the metal bars.

I want to talk to whoever is in charge. Get the f*ck in here. I can tell that you are lurking around back there. Why not come ask me the questions yourself, maybe even answer mine, or at least just let me go? I refuse to be your prisoner, and I refuse to tolerate any more of this violation of my personal space,”

I had no other choice but to confront her myself. She was getting out of control and my pack members were under strict orders not to harm her in any way, so it came as no shock to me that none of my pack members made an effort to fight back.

"OK...Talk to me, you have my full, undivided attention. ”

I watched as a barely-there sadistic smile enlightened her face as her beautiful dark brown eyes met with mine. The more I looked at her, the more things I noticed about her. It turns out that the dark gold eyes I thought I was seeing in my head were real.I watched as they seemed brown and then orange in some angles as she moved around the cell to make some distance between me, her and my pack members.

I did not make any move to hide the interested gaze I was sending her way, as I took some time to just take in her beauty and observe every single thing that I could now that I was looking at her close up. Running into her cell without any flow up strategy was definitely a bad idea, as being around her just intensified every single thing that I was feeling.

“This is how things are going to work..." You answer my questions and I might answer yours.

Her scent was unlike anything I had ever smelled or previously been exposed to.It was like a delicious combination of dragon fruit and cinnamon that reminded me of when I would open a perfectly fragranced tub of lotion that I just could not get enough of, so I would end up constantly smelling it just to get my fix.

Her offer was really weak... She had nothing to bargain with, and I refused to be bossed around in my own pack, even if it was by a strange but beautiful woman using some sort of magic to pose as my mate. I opened my mouth, ready to take charge and continue the interrogation, but stopped when loud banging noises ripped through the air.

I knew exactly what the loud bang of the warning bell meant: we were under attack.

"ROGUES!"

My anger was slowly getting mixed up with my jumbled up thoughts as my mind slowly got overwhelmed by my confusion.I took a deep breath in as I took a look at my surroundings. Dead bodies littered the ground and soiled my grass with flesh, limbs, and blood. The smell of rotten flesh and the metallic taste of blood filled the atmosphere and made the evidence of war more obvious. Fighting the rogues was the least of my problems and the last thing on my mind as I walked back to the pack house, with my face fully displaying all of the annoyance I was feeling. I took a deep breath in and cleared all of the loud voices in my head, just trying to get my thoughts in order.I walked over dead bodies, muddying my grass, and made my way to the pack house, longing to see her, be in her presence, and continue our convers

Alpha Xavier's point of viewStomach in, shoulders back... I mumbled in my head as I straightened my posture and raised my hand with the tip of my fingers on the side of my head in salute. My beta’s stern face was filled with raw anger and frustration. “What the hell am I hearing? Is it true that you allowed a goddamn rogue to stay amongst us?" How could you let such a thing happen in the pack? How did she even get into the territory? Talk more about her getting so far into the pack lands. How did no one notice her pondering? Is this how you plan to lead the pack without my sister by your side? With all due respect, Alpha, I am talking to you. Alpha Xavier's point of viewMy whole attention was on my mate as she got scanned, tested, and examined once more, but this time it was proving to be a success. One of the perks of her being my mate is me being able to find and follow her scent easily, but what I never counted on was what I would find once I found her.Finding her was one thing, but actually getting her back was another. Her hazed and crazed eyes were all that grabbed my attention as she looked down at the two werewolves on the floor moaning with pain. "What happened? Hey, are you OK? Who did all this? Did you get attacked? Why did you run? "My feet immediately brought me to her as my hands rested on her body, trying to look for any injuries she might have sustained, only to find none. I could feel the light sparks going down my body as our skin touched, but I ignored it. It was not the time to deal with our mate bond, or what I think is the mate bond."I apologize...I panicked. Alpha Xavier's point of view."Exactly what do we make out of this? We can not just allow her to roam around the pack . She is a walking safety hazard and you know it. she already tried to escape and injured some of the pack members. Why on earth are you defending this chaos. We need to cut off the head of this snake before things get out of hand and this spy plays out whatever plot she has brewing,"I knew that Caleb was right but I did not want to admit it to myself. Everything was just becoming too much of a coincidence and the timing of it all left no room for me to question how related everything was. " I saw the security cameras and how she reacted to the examiners coming to check her up. It all seemed to be a reflex I will give you, but that type of reflex does not just naturally come out of nowhere…it is not something one can be born with, you have to be trained. You have to admit it, everything is pointing towards an enemy playing games with us. This is a setup… a chess move

From Alpha Xavier's point of viewBeta Caleb walked in without even waiting for me to answer... I guess this was the sign that I needed. A part of me was beyond grateful for all of the respect he still showed me. Our relationship was more than broken…as much as losing his sister and my mate It brought us apart, but it also brought us closer together. Our shared desire for vengeance was unlike any other and the only driving force we needed to keep us going. After losing my mate, I completely broke down and let go of myself. Some thought that I would either take my own life ,get overwhelmed by grief, or go crazy from the loss of not only a mate but a child too... my son , but I conquered all of that with Caleb's support.I looked down at the photo in his hand in confusion just trying to understand what I was looking at aside just a bunch of numbers."The letter that came with the rogue girl mentioned behind her ear being the first clue... well we checked." From Alpha Xavier's point of view"The two of you stay here, and Caleb and I will go look around."Nemesis made a point to complain and try to make an objection, but I was not having any of it. I gave her a long, dead-ass no-bullsh*t stare before slamming the car door and walking off. The car ride was nothing short of awkward. The silence for almost a two-hour drive with no one even trying to break the silence, which I am grateful for.For the first time in a very long time, I could actually breathe. I still only took in a big breath and exhaled as my lungs finally adjusted to getting clean oxygen. The tension in my chest and the claustrophobia that I had been feeling suddenly dissipated as I walked further into the forest. The more I exhaled and inhaled ,the better I felt.It was like I could not breathe for the whole duration of the car ride, and now is my chance to actually catch a break. It certainly felt like I had been stuck underwater, escaped and was now gasping for air.I had
