Chapter 4——Ancient palace

The car pulled over in front of my house, Bruno leaned in for a kiss, but my eyes were on something up ahead. I opened the car door in a hurry and ran out.

“Stop!!.” I yelled as I chased after a girl on a motorcycle. She was too fast and had a great head start.

I ran back to find Bruno on his knees. I rushed down and pulled Nick onto my lap.

“What happened!!.” I asked with a harsh tone.

“Easy Delilah!, he is hurt!.” Bruno told me.

I realized he was there!, I nodded as tears ran down my eyes. Damn it!. I should become an actress!. I am good at this!.

“Nicky what happened to you!!, who did this?!.” I asked with a soft tone,I even gave him a nickname, ‘Nicky’.

“She came and…” I didn’t let him complete his sentence.

“Hold up, a girl beat you up this good?!.” I asked.

“She….”

I really wanted to laugh but Bruno’s presence stopped me, I acted extremely caring and careful.

“Help me take him in!.” I told Bruno.

After we got him into the house, we sat him on the couch, Bruno stayed back for a couple of minutes before he asked for I and himself to be excused, I led him to the kitchen.

“Delilah, I will come check on your brother later today, I wish I could stay but I have a meeting!,” Bruno said.

I relaxed my back on the kitchen island as I listened to him. Bruno came closer and our lips met, his hands encircled my waist line, his tongue invaded my mouth, he moved gently and slowly. His hands went down to my ass. I wrapped my arms around his neck, he lifted me off the ground and sat me on the kitchen island.

I broke the kiss and then said. “You should get going so I can take care of my brother!.”

He smirked. He kissed my neck before leaving. I sat there waiting for the car engine to turn on, finally it did and I heard the car drive off to a far distance.

“You already got the cat in the bag!.” Nick said.

“You mean Dragon!.” I joked.

Nick laughed then began to cough , he held his stomach in pain.

“So tell me what happened!.” I said.

“A girl attacked me.!.”Nick replied.

“This is comedy gold!!.” I laughed my heart out. “Almighty Nick, who is a strong demon, got beaten up by a girl!.” I couldn’t let this opportunity pass by without taking advantage of it!.

“Laugh all you want but I know she’s not a normal girl!, tell me what did you find out!.”

I didn’t reply to his first statement.

“Well I think Bruno is the German king, who killed and enslaved all Supernatural creatures, the ruler of the places of Doom!.” This was all a speculation.

I had read about the king of Doom, but I had not heard who he was. All I knew was he was a ruler in Germany who was killed by his son who demolished his empire and freed the supernatural creatures he was trampling on.

“Are you insane!!??, the king of Doom was brutally murdered by his own son!.” Nick exclaimed.

I got off the island and ran to my room, I took out the file and checked Bruno’s family line. The Becker’s have a very long family line, they were in fact scattered around nations, countries and cities they were all strong personalities. Bruno just happened to be one of them.

“I doubt he belongs to that blood line!, talk more of being the king of Doom!.” Nick told me as he munched on my cookies.

I snatched it from him. I dialled Alexander’s number.

“It’s late, what's it!.” He scolded.

“Actually it’s early!.” Yeah I was right it was 3 am.

He didn’t say a word, I could only imagine the look on his face.

“Can you please run a history check on Bruno Becker?.” I asked.

Nick screamed in the background. “She thinks he is the King of Doom!.”

“I don’t think I know!, he took me to the ancient palace!.” I said.

“Wait, you say what now?!.” Nick asked.

I put the phone on speaker even though I knew he could hear Alexander clearly.

“The ancient palace was destroyed!.” Alexander said.

“Yes yes I know!, but what if that’s what they want us to believe? Alexander you said it yourself that the king was very old and people hardly saw him, no one really knew what he looked like! And people hated him and planned to kill him..”

“Yes Aviva!, where is this going!.” Alexander seemed intrigued.

“Well what if he is a supernatural creature that doesn’t age so he had to conceal his identity, then fake his death, get to rule again but this time get the love of the entire country!.” I explained.

Nick was plundering on my words, while Alexander hummed.

“You have something intriguing going on!?, but Bruno is just a CEO!.” Alexander replied.

“Yes he is but he seems to have some kind of force on these people!. Last night the police didn’t check the car but they checked others!.At the bar he was treated like a king and when he stepped in the other men murmured while the women cheered. But still the men fell at his feet!, I have been following for days and wherever he goes he is given a VVVEMIP treatment !.” I narrated.

“I will run that analysis and dig up more information on this so-called King of Doom!.” Alexander said, ending the conversation.

“Yes sir!.”

“And one more thing, what's a VVVEM…. you know what I am talking about what’s that?!.” Alexander asked and Nick second it.

“Very, very, very, extremely, the most important person!.” I replied.

Alexander sighed and hung up.

“Made that up, didn't you!.” Nick laughed.

I stared at him before retiring to my room to get some beauty sleep.

“Aviva!!!!.” I heard someone screaming.

I jumped off the bed Nick had dumped a bucket of water over my head, I was sucking wet!.

“Are you mad?!!.” I yelled at him.

Nick smiled at me. Why did Alexander have to bring him??, he is a pain in the neck!.

“Your boyfriend called you, and sent a text message!.” Nick informed me.

I jumped off the bed and almost lost my footing because of the water. Nick didn’t even act like he was gonna save me from falling. Typical Demon!.

“Have you been going through my phone?!!.” I stanched my phone and went through the text message.

[ Meet me at my office by 8 am if you aren’t busy Delilah!... PS you’re hotter than I imagined!.]

“What a pervert!.” I said.

I got into the shower and had my bath. I slide into a black jean trouser, double crazy crop top and a crop jean jacket. I pulled out a pair of heel boots.

“Hold up sexy where you off to?!.” Nick asked when he saw me walk out the room.

I frown!. “Off to do my job, Daddy!!.” I replied with a bit of anger in my voice.

It took me almost an hour to get to Bruno’s office, thank goodness he gave me the address so I didn't have to keep on calling him non-stop. I walked into the office pulling everyone’s attention. Basically I loved being in the spotlight. My hips flung as I walked.

“Sorry where exactly is Bruno Becker’s office?!.” I asked the receptionist.

“Do you have an appointment!.” She asked.

“Yeah!.”

“I don’t see it!.” She replied.

“Call him would you!.”

She stared at me so I gave her an angry stare. It took her a second to tell me exactly where the office is.

“Hi baby boy!.” I exclaimed the moment I pushed the glass door open. I knew no one was there except for his personal assistant .

He exhaled when he saw me. I walked dramatically slowly towards him. I sat on his office table.

“Come here!.” He said and immediately I stood in front him.

“You’re such a naughty girl!.”

“I am naughty for you!.”
