WALKING TO THE mirror, Diana stared at her flushed face. Her neck now sported an extremely big red hickey.
She could not believe she let that happen. If she had not stopped in time, she did not want to imagine what could have happened.
"Stupid. Stupid. Stupid," Diana said as she slapped her forehead repeatedly.
This only proved that she was not as strong as she thought she was. She needed to get out now before it was too late.
She could not wait for tonight as she initially planned. The matebond had been proven to be more dangerous than she expected, and she could not afford any other mistakes.

Diana THE EERIE SOUND of the wind rustling in the empty field sent chills all over Diana's body. Her dreadful eyes took in the scene before her. Bodies were littered on the ground before her. Buildings were all destroyed and no one but her was in sight for miles. Suddenly, it began raining. The rain grew heavy, slashing against her body like a whip. The smell of blood was all over her. She squinted her eyes to see clearly but the rain was blinding and it did not feel normal. She raised her hand, turning it upside down allowing the rain to fall into her open palm. And, as she looked closer, it was not water but blood. The sky was raining blood. Diana lifted her foot to walk away from that place when she stepped on something… it felt like a hand. Diana HEARING FOOTSTEPS SLOWLY getting closer, Diana pushed her legs to go faster. She ran through the forest until her legs were almost not visible. But when she finally reached the border, Diana smiled, no longer hearing anyone behind her, and knew then they gave up. Stopping to take a breath, Diana felt a pressure in her head. She opened the mind link, knowing it was Asher. 'Come back at once, mate, do not make me come find you,' he warned. 'Screw you, Asher. The next time I see you, I will make you pay for what you did to me, I promise,' she informed him before closing the link. As she stood there, leaning against an oak tree, with her eyes closed, all she could ask herself was why she had not done this sooner.
