“Alpha Zion! Lady Mia! I beg your pardon for the interruption my lord and your ladyship, but we have found the moonstone!” Sir Henry, father’s gamma said in alert, and Zion, and I followed him without giving it a second thought.Once we reached our pack training field we abruptly stopped in our tracks. “I want to fight with your alpha!” A man told Sir Charles before he handed the moonstone over to him and my eyes widened in shock. “Gather everyone in your pack, I want them to see as I kill their alpha, I want them to see a rogue becoming their superior.” The man said maniacally before he started laughing. That was not the agreement, rogue.” Mother said as she came walking over to us. “You have the chance to become my son’s gamma or beta. Being a superior is not in your blood and it never will be.” Mother blankly told him, and the man frowned before he stormed at Mother, but she did not even seem fazed by it. “Sir Charles arrest this man for attempting to lay his filthy paws on his L
"We should make our way to the ballroom.” Mother said pointedly while she stared at the door.“I am ready to leave,” I said pointedly before I nervously fixed the silky material on my red dress Mother just silently looked at me and without showing any further interest in me, she dismissively waved the white satin fan in her hand.“Your brother and father are waiting for us at the entrance of the ballroom.” She said blankly before she left the room and I knew that she was ignoring me because she was unhappy with the choice I made, knowing that it would be announced at the end of the night. I silently followed her outside of the house that was prepared for us by the people of house Valaires. ‘Tis a beautiful house, and the weather here is much like the weather we have back at house Arcadius, warm and sunny. Which is probably why I do not feel out of the ordinary here.Mother and I finally reached the ballroom and Zion held his arm out to me and I let out a soft sigh before gently placi
"Mia let go of the prince at once. You have already made your decision you chose Eros. Do not make matters worse. War is the last thing we need right now." I heard my mother saying and I gently pulled back from Alcander to face her."I did not choose Eros," I said while looking into her eyes. Almost all of the guests were asked to leave after Alcander and Eros declared war against each other."You conspired behind my back after I told you that I wanted to be with Alcander. You are the reason for this chaos, if you were honest from the start Mother, we would not be here right now." I said, gasping for my breath before I started crying and Alcander took my hand in his."There will be no war. Not again." Zion said pointedly. "Just stay here, Mia. And spare the lives of the innocent people that will die in this war. Find another way to be with each other but war is not the answer." Zion said pointedly and I nodded at him. "You are right," I said softly. "I will stay here," I said as a s
The next morning I woke up on a large bed, in a large and empty room. A cold chill ran down my spine as reality hit me. I slowly sat upright before tiredly rubbing my eyes then I heard someone clear their throat. My eyes widened in shock and I immediately covered myself with my blanket before looking around the room until my eyes landed on Eros. He was standing in front of the window and he must have been staring at me for quite a while, I did not even hear him entering my room. He slowly came walking towards me and I silently watched him. He sat down on the edge of the bed and I got a whiff of his scent. His scent is so clean and serene, it's truly the only way to describe it. "Good morning, Mia." He said in a gentle tone and I couldn't bring myself to form any words. "Listen Mia I know you do not wish to be here right now but this is not a prison. This is your home now." He said and my heart started beating faster in my chest. "Eros I did not choose-" I started but he cut me off.
"With the moon goddess as my witness, I, Eros Valaires, take you, Mia Arcadius, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by death," Alcander said and I looked down at my hands resting in my lap."Thank you both for reciting your vows, it is now time for your first dance." The herald said and Luna Selena and Alpha Caldron proudly smiled at Eros and me. I got up from my chair before making my way towards the dancefloor and Eros followed behind me. He held his hand out to me and I sighed lightly before I placed my hand in his. An orchestra started playing loud upbeat music and I started dancing along to it. "You look beautiful," Eros said as we danced together and I just silently stared at him."Thank you," I said shortly before he spun me around and the people surrounding us started clapping their hands in awe. "You should enjoy yourself. I can tell that you are nervous." He said a
Alcander's POV"What is the purpose of this meeting?" My father asked impatiently while he wrote something on a piece of paper and I clenched my jaw. The ten other men that were sitting around the table were dead silent." 'Tis about lady Mia, who is being forced to marry a man that she does not love," I told him and he looked up at me. "That does not concern you." He said blankly. "It does concern me if Mia is involved. We love each other father." I said and he slammed his hand down on the table and the sound echoed throughout the room. "Then stop loving her! You are about to be crowned as the king of all werewolves. You do not need a weakness, not now. So let her go." He said and I frowned at him. "That is easy for you to say since you do not love my mother. My love for Mia does not make me weak, love is not a sign of weakness. And until Mia tells me to stop I will not." I said pointedly and my father speechlessly looked at me"I forbid you Alcander!" He said in his alpha voice a
I stood in front of an open window with a shawl tightly wrapped around my arms. The wind gently blew through my hair, and I breathed in the cold air of the night. 'Tis dark and cold outside, and this night could not become any quieter. I have not spoken to Eros since our wedding ceremonies. I sighed before I brushed my hair out of my face. I assume he has his alpha duties to tend to. I also have not spoken to Miss Laurel since the morning she helped me get ready for my wedding ceremonies. All I have been thinking about was Alcander and if I could magically make one person appear in front of me right now I would choose him because I feel safest in his arms. A knock suddenly came from my door and I snapped out of my thoughts before I closed the windows. I opened the door and found an elderly woman dressed in black standing in front of me. "Pardon me for interrupting your sleep, my lady. But a raven was sent from House Arcadius, you have received a letter from a certain Lord Zion." T
I looked over at Eros who was walking beside me with a smile on his face. The weather was warm and sunny today, and there was a light breeze that gently blew through my hair. Eros decided to take me on a walk in the forest seeing that we both had nothing to do.“What have you got behind your back?” I curiously asked him before coming to a halt, and he looked over at me before his smile dropped from his face.“Nothing.” He replied shortly and I narrowed my eyes on him. “Let us walk in peace then.” He continued and I placed my hands behind my back before I continued to walk beside him. He must be holding some sort of gift behind his back, that would certainly explain the secrecy. I know this because he’s been showering me with gifts for the past three days now.“May I know where we are heading now?” I asked him and he smiled once more before his grey orbs settled on my face.“My wife is so impatient.” He said and I silently looked at him.“Your wife?” I asked while curiously looking at
I sat next to Eros at our dinner table, I placed my hand in his before I rested my head against his arm. We haven't fought in two days, well ever since our last fight we've been getting along incredibly well. He's been treating me more like a friend lately so, I have decided to forgive him for his past mistakes. The royal family entered the dining hall so we all got up from where we were seated. They gracefully took their seats and the other houses followed their league by sitting back down once they were done. "Do you remember that book you gave me when I first came to House Valaires?" I asked Eros and he smiled while looking down at me."Indeed I do." He told me so I softly smiled at him."Well, last night I went to my reading room and I started writing in it. I might never get to publish it but perhaps you could read it someday." I told him and he smiled at me."Marvellous, I would be honored to, my lady." He told me and it reminded me of the time that we had just met each other.
I carefully sneaked into the alpha mansion, desperately hoping not to run into Eros. I am certain I have Alcander's scent all over me. I need to be bathed and washed clean so that Eros would not suspect a thing. "My lady, alpha Eros is waiting for you in your chambers." A maid who appeared from behind a corner told me and I held a hand to my chest in shock. "Goddess, you gave me a fright," I told the woman and she shot me a warning look before she proceeded to polish the floor in silence. What do I do now? Eros is waiting for me in my chambers. I pressed my lips together before I went into the kitchen. "I need to bathe, but not in front of the alpha," I told one of the women and she nodded at me in understanding. "And I need one of you to bring a clean dress for me from the utility room, and not my chambers," I said and another one of the women in the kitchen nodded at me before she left the kitchen. "Please follow me, Luna Mia." The other woman told me so I followed her out of t
This morning I woke up with a fever, but goddess knows where this sudden fever has come from. I sighed lightly as I stepped out of my bathtub.“I cannot seem to figure out what is wrong with me, Miss Laurel. I know everything, and I have read every book so how come I have no idea what is happening to me?” I asked Miss Laurel who was fanning my warm body.“My lady, have you ever considered the possibility that this might be your heat? You haven’t gotten it yet, my lady.” Miss Laurel respectfully said, and my eyes widened at her words.“Miss Laurel do not speak of such nonsense. My heat- my heat, it cannot be my heat. I am certain of it. Egad, if Eros was to get word of this. Absolutely not! It must be something else.” I told Miss Laurel and she frowned at me.“My lady, it is dangerous for a she-wolf to ignore her heat. You must be with your mate because only he can make it better. If not, you might die, my lady.” Miss Laurel said while she looked down at her hands and I frowned at her.
“What is the meaning of this, your grace?” I asked Alcander and he clenched his jaw. “Let him go at once.” I said referring to Sir Allen who was now tied up in a chair. The ropes around his wrists and ankles were laced with wolfsbane and it was burning into his skin like acid.“My men just reported to me that this man was seen harassing you, are these claims true my lady?” Alcander asked me and my eyes widened in shock. Someone must have seen us just now.“He’s my friend. He did not harass me we were just talking, your grace.” I said and Alcander frowned at me.“You have no business talking to my guards, Mia. And this guard will be punished accordingly for disrespecting your family name.” Alcander told me and I shook my head at him.“He’s innocent. If anyone deserves to be punished, it’s me. Please punish me, your grace.” I said and Alcander looked at me in shock.“You would risk your life for this man?” Alcander asked me and I nodded my head at him. “And what if I kill him right in f
I walked inside the dining hall while Lady Sloane held onto my arm, she was excitedly greeting people with a big smile resting on her face. I observed my surroundings as Lady Sloane led us over to our table. Every king, superior, beta, and gamma was already seated, as Lady Sloane and I took our seats next to each other. The dance floor was filled with excited teenagers dancing with their friends and mates. And the ladies of the ton were already seated at a table opposite ours; they were accompanied by their mates also known as the lords of the council. Many people showed up tonight we were surrounded by tables that were occupied by lords, ladies, and only the finest of knights and they were laughing while helping themselves to meat and a cup of wine. My eyes landed on Sir Allen and as if feeling my gaze, he looked up at me. A smile rested on his face before he raised the cup of wine in his hand at me. I could not help but smile so I grabbed a cup filled with red wine before lifting
Zion put his sword away once he saw me approaching them and a smile that met his eyes rested on his face. I walked into his embrace before I wrapped my arms around him.“Hello, brother,” I said before pulling back from him and he kept me in a side hug.“Mia, are you quite alright?” Zion curiously asked me, and I nodded at him before I went over to hug our father.“Hello Mia,” my father said, and I simply nodded at him in a greeting manner.“I am quite alright, brother. Wherever is our mother? She would never miss a trip as big as this.” I said and Zion placed his hand on his sword as a light frown settled on his forehead.“Mia, Mother suffered a fall down the stairs on the last full moon. Her wolf is unable to heal her so she is healing slower than she usually would.” Zion said and I frowned at him.“Has she gotten better?” I asked in shock and Zion looked over at our father.“She might not survive this, Mia,” Father said, and my eyes widened in shock.“And you did not think to inform
I entered the doctor’s office and he smiled when his eyes landed on me. “Luna Mia,” he said in a friendly tone, and I nodded my head at him in a greeting manner before taking a seat across from him. “You wanted to see me, doctor,” I said, and the doctor nodded at me. “Well, you seem quite unwell, Luna Mia. Would you perhaps like to tell me why you are struggling to eat so that we can find a solution to this?” He asked me, and I smiled at him. “There is no need, doctor. My throat feels much better today, I just had a wonderful breakfast.” I told the doctor and he seemed shocked at my words. I had an apple and some water which is a very healthy and tasty snack. “Well, that is wonderful news, Luna Mia.” He said and I nodded at him. “Am I allowed to leave now? I have much to do.” I said softly and the doctor nodded at me. “Of course, Luna Mia the last thing I would want to do is keep you from attending to your daily activities.” The doctor respectfully said, and I nodded at him befor
“You may stand up,” Alcander said shortly, and I stood upright before I took my seat next to Eros. I took a glance at Alcander and found that he was already looking at me. He clenched his jaw before he looked away from me and I looked at the man sitting across from me, and I smiled at him. Zion is here and so is our father. Zion is the alpha of House Arcadius now and I am so proud of him, he smiled back at me, and just as he did so Judge Everly cleared his throat.I looked over at the old man who was now standing upright, he lifted his chin before he spoke ever so proudly. “On behalf of the king and the royal family, I would like to give a special thank you to the superiors of House Valaires for arranging this dinner. We are eager to see how things are developing here at House Valaires, we hope that this next month will be filled with adventure and knowledge.” Judge Everly said, and my eyes widened. Did I hear correctly? Are the superiors staying at House Valaires for a month? Why on
Two Years Later I stared at the window as I was sitting in the doctor’s office. I stopped eating again, five days ago. And Eros thought it would be best if we came to see the doctor about it. But it is my choice to not eat. I have done this many times before so this should not come as a surprise to Eros or our doctor. Eros of course does not like it when I go on these hunger strikes but I do not care for what he likes. “Luna Mia?” The doctor called me, and I snapped out of my thoughts before looking at him. “I beg your pardon,” I said softly, and the doctor smiled at me. “Are you willing to come see me tomorrow morning for a private consultation?” The doctor asked me, and I just nodded at him before I left his office and I listened to Eros’s footsteps as he followed behind me. “Mia?” He called me and I stopped in my tracks. “We are having dinner with my parents tonight.” He said pointedly and I clenched my jaw. “And I need you to be on your best behavior.” He said pointedly before
