His hand was around my back while the other was caressing my hair. I heard his sweet rough chuckle that could make my dead heart leap.
"My lovely emotional wife. I hope you are not thirsty enough to bit me."
He even managed to make a joke. For all I know, he just want to make this light so that I'd forget about my guilt.
I just went off him when I heard someone cleared his throat. I was a bit embarrassed when I saw Henry not too far, his eyes were on his shoes.
"The drinks are already sent to your chamber, My Lord, My Lady."
"Alright. We will be right there. Thank you, Henry," I said in a low voice and walked first, leaving Landon behind.
I shook my head while suppressing a smile when I heard Landon's hearty laugh at my back.
~*~*~
"Get change," Landon told me after we both had a chalice of blood. The thirst has now subsided and I felt a lot better than I was.
"Oh, Landon, you don't know my mom. She won't surely forget to go detail by detail if we would tell her that. Besides, my parents would surely wonder why I'm suddenly married! I was just nineteen and studying college. Who would marry in the middle of college anyway? Well except those girls who got themselves pregnant in the middle of school year. Mom would rather believe that I had an accident, hit my head pretty hard and went insane. She won't buy it.""Let's make her see our wedding papers?""No. I didn't mean that she would question the validity of our marriage. She would rather question my sanity for marrying someone all of a sudden without even telling them. That is the case here."He nodded, understanding it better now."Let's don't say we are married. Let's just say I am your boyfriend and we have been together for a week and a half or how long you prefer. Don't you think that is convincing enough?"
"It felt like it's been a while since the last time I've been here.""I'm sorry if it took long. It's my fault for lying to you. I'm really sorry, Eve."I smiled at him. "I told you, it's alright. At least now I know my parents are safe, and Jaxon is, too.""Ah. That mongrel." His brow went up darkly as if he remembered something. "He likes you, doesn't he?""I don't think so?" I'm not very sure but I just can't think of Jaxon that way. "We are just really good friends since childhood. But I didn't know he's not human until I decided to live in Lynnwood.""Good friends." He nodded but the way his eyes turned darker made me feel like he has dark thoughts beneath his gentle eyes.I shook my head while smiling. When I heard the house's door opened, my eyes drifted to it at once. I saw Mom and the way her lips dramatically fell open made me know how surprised she was to see me. Of course she didn
“You are quite a reader, huh. You have a lot of books,” Landon said, looking at my shelf.I think Mom really put effort in cleaning and organizing my room when I was not around. Because the last time I’ve been here, I remember the room was so messy. I was not in my usual state those days, disturbed and frustrated. Now that I’m back, I realized that I missed my room too. This room had a lot of memories with me and Carter. I could even consider this as our love nest. But although our story didn’t end good, if that could even be considered as an ending, I still treasure every moment we spent together. It’s already a part of me and I don’t think I can take it away.“Yeah. I’m a certified bookworm.”Landon looked at me with dark eyes. “A very beautiful bookworm.”I chuckled.“When do you want to meet your father?”
Early in the morning the next day, I bid my goodbyes to Mom since we will be leaving for Philippines to meet Dad. She was a little sad that we are leaving so soon after I went back from my so-called vacation, but I assured her that we will come back right after a day or two.Mom already drove away and Landon and I was about to enter the car when Landon turned still. I was about to ask why when I breathed and smelled a familiar scent. It’s from a werewolf and I admit, the smell doesn’t really smell good to me. I was sure though who it was.Landon looked lethal as he turned to the direction where Jaxon is coming from. I smirked when I saw my friend. Jaxon looked relieved when he saw me. He smiled back but when his eyes drifted to Landon, his smile vanished and he raised his brow in mockery. Landon murmured some curses that I’m sure Jaxon heard clearly. Jaxon looked pissed with that but he managed to smirk playfully as i
“He is Landon, my boyfriend.” Husband. I wanted to say that instead but I know that would ruin the pretense. Dad will surely have a heart attack if I will say Landon is my husband and we married secretly.“Hello, Landon.”I gritted my teeth. What? After Theo. She wants to flirt with Landon this time? She could dream on!Landon didn’t return the greeting and just glanced at her once with cold and indifferent eyes. I wanted to laugh. Good for her! What does she think she is? A goddess who can lure any man she wants? She’s nothing but a bitch. I will never like her. If she would change in the future, then maybe we can be in good terms. But as of now, I don’t think that is close to being possible.“Are you studying in Lynnwood too?”We went to the living room. Natalia followed and she even had the audacity to keep on asking Landon things.&ldq
I bit my lower lip looking at how shocked Mom was when Landon told him that we are getting married. If she had known that I already married Landon without her and Dad's consent, for sure she had collapsed.I stared at my Mom's pale face and waited for her reaction. I smiled a little. If I had known, she would have slapped me once or did something if only Landon wasn't there. Not that she's against of me marrying, but this sudden marriage surely shocked her to the bones that she couldn't speak right away."What, Eve? You are getting married?!" The horror was evident on her voice and I have seen that one coming. "But what about your studies? Your career? You are just nineteen for goodness' sake! And what? You were just together for a week or so! Don't you think it's too early? This is so sudden!" Mom was getting hysterical.I held her hand to calm her down. I chuckled and looked at Landon who was just staring at the both of us
"Fine. Yes, I did something. I just did a little play so that Doris will see that the man she love is not worth it and nothing but a cheating asshole.""And where did he go? Mom said he left with his new love interest, is that true?" My eyes narrowed at him."No. But don't worry, he's just out of the town and will never come back. I didn't kill him or something, so relax."I relieved by that. Felix is an asshole but he's nothing compared to Landon or his men, especially the butler of the year — Henry. I'm glad he just made him disappear but didn't kill him. No matter what Felix had done, he is still a human and what he did is not heavy enough to give him a dead sentence. Anyone of us isn't in the place to give such punishment to any human."By the way, where do you want to hold the wedding?""Hmm…" I acted thinking even though at the back of my mind, I already have an answer."Wh
"You stay inside the car. Let me talk to him," I said and his look turned darker."You didn't answer me? Who is the boy, Eve?""Remember the second ex we talked about? It's him. Theo.""You mean the one who cheated on you with your stepsister." It was a statement, not a question.I swallowed hard when I saw how Landon's eyes turned like sharp silver cutting through me. His lethal gaze then dropped to the approaching guy outside. His jaw clenched tight and I could see the dark red tint slowly forming at the corner of his pitch black orbs."Why is he here, then? I will go with you. I want to know how important his business with you is.""I think I can handle him though," I said in a small voice.Landon looked at me darkly and before I could protest, he already opened the door and went out. I sighed and did the same.I saw Theo paused for a second when he saw me. His gaze d
