“Yeah, He has a witch, but he and the witch aren’t there at the moment, they left to do some recon or something, I don’t know, she didn’t really seem to know all that much,” Mark brushed some gravel from his trouser legs as he spoke.
“Who’s ‘she’?” I ask, completely baffled by how he had come by the information he has just laid on me.
“Maddie, from what I could gather it was all she knew, anyway, didn’t look much like the polished princess anymore though,” Mark looked to the side as though consideringly before turning back, “But she didn’t recognise me either, and she didn’t know I was Mated to Brian. She wanted me,” A shudder ripped through Mark at that and I had to contain a chuckle at h
Cassie -Jason comes crashing into the hospital room while I am trying to gather up the courage to discuss the possible causes for my (for want of a better word) ‘visions’ of my lost loved ones as well as the reason behind my fall down the stairs, since I don’t want to put my pups at risk, so I need to know what to do to stop this from happening again. I have made the connection that the visions began around the time of conception so it might be something the pups are causing, but I still need to know so that I can prevent them from happening in the future and potentially injuring myself or them. What if I have a vision of my mother, they are so realistic that I have caught myself moving towards the apparition, and I step in front of a moving vehicle, or I could trip and fall down the stairs, or, well, the possibilities are endless, as are the dangers. So I was just ab
17 years ago….The Seer was a wise young woman, with a streak of mischief, she was a meddler and was always cryptic in delivering her message, she often enjoyed speaking in riddles and watching the person struggle to find the meaning in her words and then watching from afar as they fvck up repeatedly. She knew what she told them to be true, but she was purposely vague so as to create drama, twisting some of her words and changing others to cause confusion. This gave her great entertainment as she followed the paths taken by those who had the misfortune to request her assistance. The Seer was in fact incredibly gifted, her sight was never skewed and always found a way to come to fruition, no matter how the targets acted to either bring it to pass or to thwart destiny. Her anger stemmed from the assumption others made that she was there to serve their purpose. She had been beaten for delivering bad ne
Present day -Author POV-Maddie was fuming, she had no clue as to how this had just transpired. But she was slowly catching on. Her thoughts all jumbled as she tried in vain to get out of this predicament without needing someone else to witness her humiliation.Maddie believes her and Ace are destined to be together, even if they are not fated mates, some aspects of their relationship are not ideal but she has come to accept their reality as fact. Her Father has often told her of the future the Seer foresaw, though over the years the story was mangled and contorted in his mind just enough to ensure difficult times ahead for them all.Because of the story told by her Father, Maddie and Ace both bel
Dave -I think we finally got them all, we now have a small pile of these talismans that we have gathered from around the entrance of the mountains cave as well as inside, it seems that they are not overly powerful based on the sheer quantity, I mean the phrase quality over quantity must be a phrase for a reason right?Anyway, after we spent a good half an hour searching the weeds and brush around the entrances of the various caves, as well as any cracks and crevices in the mountain wall we could spot, we think we have finally found them all. Mark says he feels closer, like his memory is more solid, so he has gone ahead a little to confirm the path is now clear in his mind. Before his mind was blurring the closer he seemed to get to the right path, like something was blocking his memories, he could remember everything while we were outside l
Author POV -Dave, having followed Ace and the witch, crept slowly towards the edge of the clearing they had stopped in, making sure that Ace and the witch were in his sight. Ace was pacing back and forth, almost frothing at the mouth in rage. He turns to the witch and grabs her by her throat.“How did they get past your spells, witch? You told me the camp would remain safe and hidden, but clearly you have failed, your spells must be as weak and pathetic as you are.”He throws her body away from himself and she lands heavily on the ground. Her sputtering is clearly audible as she struggles to get to her feet again. Dave waits to see what her answer will be, hidden behind a tree downwind of his prey.“The… spells… are…. good…. Alpha,” She gasps on
Author POV -Maddie ran to her tent as soon as she saw the rogues approaching, she was sure they would be able to hold off what looked to be a group of what, 5 measly warriors? It didn’t even cross her mind that they would be able to free those trapped in the cages, just as it did not cross her mind to question how they had found the place to begin with. Sure, that guy she had taken to her tent had escaped, but it had never occurred to her that they would work out that a witch was helping them in any way.It never occurred to Maddie to wonder how they had gotten around the witch's spells in the first place. She knew a witch had spelled the area, she knew that those spells were meant to keep everyone out but as she had not left herself she did not know how it worked beyond that it had until she let someone escape. Now her pr
Author POV -While Brian, Mark and the others are fighting and detaining the rogues along with Maddie and her father, Jack and Dave make their moves, Dave fades into the trees and makes his way around the clearing, following the path Ace has taken. Thankfully, Ace’s scent is strong and Dave is easily able to pick it up and follow him. Jack steps into the clearing and makes his way over to the woman lying on the floor. Crouching down beside her he pulls her attention away from her wounds. The fear in her eyes at his sudden appearance is palpable. She had not heard him approaching and had had no sense of anyone watching her in her misery and pain.“Please,” she practically begs, “I didn’t want to, I never meant to cause anyone harm. He saved me, you have to understand, please” Jack frowns, since she has work
Author POV -Daisy woke up to the sound of giggles and a smile stretched across her face before she was even fully awake. Sitting up Daisy was able to see a smattering of blonde hair peeking over the sofa that was a part of the room Carly had given her yesterday. After it had become clear to them both that none of the ranked members of the Forest Haven pack were going to be able to meet with her, Carly, Jamie and Daisy had spent the afternoon exploring while Daisy explained the situation back home to Carly. Carly may not have been a wolf, but her understanding of pack laws and traditions gave Daisy some insight into what needed to be done within Twin Lakes to help them heal and grow after the destruction Ace had wrought upon them all. Spending time with Jamie had been no hardship either, his cheeky smile and inquisitive nature had had Daisy in love
