Author POV -
Brian had been right, Ace was not the type of person to allow others any control when he was present, in fact at the moment that Maddie instructed Mark to be let out of the cage for questioning Ace was out on a scouting mission of his own and this time he had learnt from his previous mistakes. This time he had a witch helping him. The witch in question was one he had stumbled upon and saved one night while out trying to gather wolves for his army. For he had decided that if Alpha Sven could replace him as the new heir then he would form his own pack and he would take back Twin Lakes and Cassie, and anything else that he desired. To that end, he had stumbled upon the witch, in a weakened state and she had convinced him that if he helped her, she would in return offer her services. Ace had been reluctant, he hated the weak, he hated their dependency on others, but having a wi
Daisy -I am currently waiting at the gated entrance of Forest Haven pack-lands for the Delta to come meet me. I have decided to climb out of the car so that I am more clearly visible to all of the warriors that I can sense running the perimeter. I know how it is, running the borders, so I want to be as open and visible as I can be to ease their minds. They will be able to tell by my scent that I am not a rogue this way. If I had stayed in the car they may view me as a threat and that is the last thing I need, drama before I even get on their land.I can feel myself starting to get jittery, I hate staying still, and I hate waiting for others. But I manage to contain my fidgeting while I wait. I know getting agitated will only make me snappy and a snappy me may not be something that a pack that doesn't know me can tolerate. I know my flaws, I
Daisy -Walking through the trees on our way to the pack house Carly, sorry, Luna Carly, talks about some of the things her abilities have brought to the pack, her proudest achievement seems to be her ability to protect them from unwanted visitors. She explains about certain talismans she had learned of that she has blessed and placed in strategic places around the borders. Talismans that help prevent outsiders from stumbling across their lands.I must have made a strange sound when she mentioned this, I have to admit, I wanted to stop her and tell her it hadn’t worked since I had had no problem finding the place, but she must have read my mind because she went on to explain that only those who have been given the address, directly, since the talismans went up are able to find it. But this still didn’t make sense to me, if
Dave -After getting off the phone with Daisy I forced myself to calm down, I go over everything she told be about these talismans that Ace could be using to hide his location, it makes sense, and the fact that I now have the means to slip past his defences helps me to calm down, working myself into a panic would not help anyone, especially if they did actually need me. I managed to hold myself together for another hour after speaking to my twin, but there was still no word from my guys, I couldn’t take it anymore so I called Jack, I needed to know if he had had any news, sitting at my desk I pushed the papers to one side and grabbed the phone, I listen to it ring for what feels like an eternity with no answer from Jack before I decide to try Jason.Jason answered before the first ring even completed, as though he were sitting watching
Dave -“Yeah, He has a witch, but he and the witch aren’t there at the moment, they left to do some recon or something, I don’t know, she didn’t really seem to know all that much,” Mark brushed some gravel from his trouser legs as he spoke.“Who’s ‘she’?” I ask, completely baffled by how he had come by the information he has just laid on me.“Maddie, from what I could gather it was all she knew, anyway, didn’t look much like the polished princess anymore though,” Mark looked to the side as though consideringly before turning back, “But she didn’t recognise me either, and she didn’t know I was Mated to Brian. She wanted me,” A shudder ripped through Mark at that and I had to contain a chuckle at h
Cassie -Jason comes crashing into the hospital room while I am trying to gather up the courage to discuss the possible causes for my (for want of a better word) ‘visions’ of my lost loved ones as well as the reason behind my fall down the stairs, since I don’t want to put my pups at risk, so I need to know what to do to stop this from happening again. I have made the connection that the visions began around the time of conception so it might be something the pups are causing, but I still need to know so that I can prevent them from happening in the future and potentially injuring myself or them. What if I have a vision of my mother, they are so realistic that I have caught myself moving towards the apparition, and I step in front of a moving vehicle, or I could trip and fall down the stairs, or, well, the possibilities are endless, as are the dangers. So I was just ab
17 years ago….The Seer was a wise young woman, with a streak of mischief, she was a meddler and was always cryptic in delivering her message, she often enjoyed speaking in riddles and watching the person struggle to find the meaning in her words and then watching from afar as they fvck up repeatedly. She knew what she told them to be true, but she was purposely vague so as to create drama, twisting some of her words and changing others to cause confusion. This gave her great entertainment as she followed the paths taken by those who had the misfortune to request her assistance. The Seer was in fact incredibly gifted, her sight was never skewed and always found a way to come to fruition, no matter how the targets acted to either bring it to pass or to thwart destiny. Her anger stemmed from the assumption others made that she was there to serve their purpose. She had been beaten for delivering bad ne
Present day -Author POV-Maddie was fuming, she had no clue as to how this had just transpired. But she was slowly catching on. Her thoughts all jumbled as she tried in vain to get out of this predicament without needing someone else to witness her humiliation.Maddie believes her and Ace are destined to be together, even if they are not fated mates, some aspects of their relationship are not ideal but she has come to accept their reality as fact. Her Father has often told her of the future the Seer foresaw, though over the years the story was mangled and contorted in his mind just enough to ensure difficult times ahead for them all.Because of the story told by her Father, Maddie and Ace both bel
Dave -I think we finally got them all, we now have a small pile of these talismans that we have gathered from around the entrance of the mountains cave as well as inside, it seems that they are not overly powerful based on the sheer quantity, I mean the phrase quality over quantity must be a phrase for a reason right?Anyway, after we spent a good half an hour searching the weeds and brush around the entrances of the various caves, as well as any cracks and crevices in the mountain wall we could spot, we think we have finally found them all. Mark says he feels closer, like his memory is more solid, so he has gone ahead a little to confirm the path is now clear in his mind. Before his mind was blurring the closer he seemed to get to the right path, like something was blocking his memories, he could remember everything while we were outside l
