“Marry me.”

“Excuse me?” Gemma gazed at him like he had just made the biggest joke of the year, then giggled.

“I'll be off then, Mr. Fegurson, since you really don't have any request to ask.”

Derek gazed at the woman before him, wondering what she was giggling about when he meant every single word he just uttered.

“Do I look like I’m joking?” He asked, not letting go of her arm.

Gemma paused for a moment, looking at him.

“This man doesn't seem to be joking," she muttered

“Well, I'm thankful for how you played along in there, but that doesn't mean I will marry you just because I agreed to grant you one request…”

“You did agree to grant me a request and this is it,” he cut her off.

“People meet, fall in love, and date before they get married, Mr. Fegurson. I don't even know anything about you.”

“Yeah, you met, fell in love, and dated the guy you just turned down at the altar too, right?” Derek asked, his intelligent orbs stared at the woman before him.

“I…I…don't even know past your name,” Mr. Fegurson,” Gemma could only mutter.

“Why was this guy hellbent on getting married to me!” she thought.

The last thing she wanted right now was to be tied under the shabs of marriage. Something that wasn't going to last, but instead get in the way of her revenge.

“Why are you doing this?” She asked.

“Well, let's say we’ll be doing a trade by barter. You give me what I want, I give you what you want…”

“And what do you have that I want?” the lady before him asked, Derek could only smile.

“Money, power, connection… I've been watching you for a while, Miss Braun. I thought you were docile and gullible and only does what that messed up family of yours asks you to. But after witnessing what you pulled today, my view about you changed…”

“What does all these have to do with what I want?”

“You want revenge, you want to deal with your sister and that prick for messing with you, you want to deal with that thing you call a brother for everything he has done to you, and your parents, they deserve a share of your rage too, for neglecting you…”

“Get married to me, and I'll give you the money and power to get back at them. You won't be able to do anything on your own and might as well get kicked out of the company by your precious family.”

Gemma could only stare at him, knowing that every single one of his utterances was right. She was back for revenge but never thought that far.

“What do you gain from this, Mr. Ferguson?” Gemma asked.

“A wife…..What do you say to a two year marriage contract? Once the contract ends, you can do what you want with your life, no strings attached,” Derek proposed.

Gemma could only stare at him, not knowing what to say or how to react.

“Trouble in paradise, sister?” The one person she despised the most approached her yet again, it was Elena and she didn't seem like she was giving up any time soon.

Gemma turned around to look at her, next to her was Daniel.

“It's actually the contrary, Elena,” she laughed

“We’re getting married,” she announced.

“Derek just asked me to marry him. And guess what I'm thinking…” she raised a brow, then smiled.

“You all are here, most of the guests are not gone yet and most especially, I'm in a wedding dress. The only thing that needs to be changed is the groom,” Gemma smiled, walking up to Derek and wrapping her arms around his neck.

“Why don't we utilize this opportunity and get married right now. I can't wait to be in your arms….”

“You're despicable,” Elena cut her off, but Gemma wasn't done yet.

“I can't wait to be in your arms just like Elena has been in Daniel’s arms all these while,” she giggled, much to their spectator's irritation.

“Anything you say, my love,” Derek played along, a knowing smile etched on his lips.

“This wouldn't be so bad after all,” Gemma thought, seeing how Derek played along with everything.

Taking his hand, she led him back into the church, much to everyone’s surprise.

Sylvia almost lost her sanity, this was the guy she has been trying to set up for her dear Elena and now, he is suddenly getting married to Gemma.

“I'm out of here,” she told her husband, the moment Gemma and her new groom approached the altar. But Gemma wasn't going to let her miss out.

“Mother, where are you off to?” she called her back.

Sylvia could only clench her teeth and sit back.

“Elena, Derek ordered a ring, I believe it's outside right now. Can you pick it up and bring it here,” Gemma called out to Elena who was boiling with rage.

“I'll deal with you for this humiliation, just mark my words,” she could only swear.

Once the wedding was done, Derek led his new bride out of the hall, but for some reason, she still had something to say to her fuming family.

“I want your things out of my room, Daniel,” she told her ex-groom.

“I'll be back after my honeymoon, anticipate, dear family.”

With that, the couple left the church leaving the rest in anger and jealousy.
