Lisa grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the room. We didn’t stop until we reached the parking lot, where she leaned against her car. I watched as she pulled out her phone, unlocked it, and held it up to my face.

I frowned, unsure of her intention, until I looked closer. The image on the screen caught my attention immediately, it was Samantha. She appeared to be arguing with, or even striking, the woman next to her.

"That’s Ryan’s mother, but… what is this? And the woman with her, who is she?" I asked, my confusion deepening.

Lisa raised her brows, silently urging me to figure it out on my own. But she remained quiet.

Taking the phone from her hand, I zoomed in on the video. As soon as I recognized the other figure, my heart sank. My hands flew to my mouth in disbelief as I stared at Lisa.

"What are they doing together?" I muttered, more to myself. The scene was unsettling, the two of them on what seemed to be a quiet, secluded road. "Why would they meet when they don’t even get alon

RyanIt was late in the evening, and I had just finished giving a speech at a conference I was invited to. Though it was impromptu, I had to attend, even though I still wasn't feeling like myself after what happened yesterday. I had to leave immediately since I had a meeting with Mr. Fernandez. He had literally reached out to me earlier this morning to meet him at a popular restaurant in town.Everything that happened yesterday made me feel less of a man. I didn’t know what to think after finding myself at Alex’s apartment. He’s been insisting Zara has something to do with this.I don’t even know how to convince him otherwise, how to tell him she’s innocent and wouldn’t spike my drink. When I went home this morning, I found her crying because I hadn’t returned her calls. She thought something had happened to me, and Jasper didn’t pick up her calls either. This isn’t the first time I have experienced this. Emily During our four years of marriage, most of the time, my husband treats me like a total stranger. I have always been a stranger to him, even though we were a couple. The only exception is when he contacts me, and whenever he does, it's all about getting me to the hospital to donate blood to Zara. That was my use in this marriage, always donating blood to her, and get paid at the end of the month. It was what I had agreed to hoping he would love me some day. It's the third time this month, and it's more than my body can take already. But who cares? That's what I'm supposed to do whenever Zara needs a blood transfusion. I'm sitting on the sofa and my eyes are getting a little watery and blurry, while still running a little temperature. Yesterday was our fourth year anniversary. So I thought of preparing something to celebrate with him. I waited for him to get home from work, and carefully prepared dinner for our anniversary, and yet I stood in the rain for over an hour waiting

I put my phone away, suppressed the excruciating pain in my heart, the burning sensation in my body, and forced myself to Rose from the couch. I ascended the stairs to get my bag from the bedroom, and soon I returned, making my way out of the house. I stepped out of the house, hailed a cab and went directly to the coffee shop not far from the hospital. My mind is made up, I won't just sit and continue being a bank of blood for someone who doesn't even value me. I have tried everything to make him love me, and now it's time to move on with my life. Four years are not four months. With each passing second, Ryan still hadn’t shown up. I am not leaving until he does. As I waited, my phone buzzed twice, it was Ryan calling. I didn’t answer, thinking he would call a third time. But he didn’t. I sat there, pale, the pain from earlier still engulfing my body. An hour later, Ryan finally appeared, just like I had thought when I didn't pick his calls. He is slow to see his mistakes. He

Ryan’s eyes darkened, his expression turning grim. "What the hell are you doing!" He cussed, as he pushed his way into the room. "Emily." He called out to me, his voice was as cold as ice. Was he so afraid of what I might do to her? I can't believe he still cares so much about her even after his signed the divorce papers. This just proves, he never felt anything for me. If he does, he wouldn't have attempted to sign the damn papers. Zara's eyes widened with fake panic as she turned her look away, tears welling up in her eyes. This was all she's good at, constantly trying to stand out as the good girl when she's the devil. I can't believe I endure this shit for the pass four years. Where were my senses? My steeze and demure? I can't believe I did everything for love and was never loved back. “I swear, Emily, I didn’t do anything. You have got it all wrong.” She feigned even more, knowing he would side with her. Was I really out of my mind to confront her in front of Ryan?

RyanI sensed that there was something different about Emily. Definitely, there was something off about her. She wasn't the Emily I once married, she acted so different at the hospital. There's no way I'm mistaken, or was I overthinking things because she asked for a divorce? She was nothing to me from the start, but why are my even bothered?I couldn't put my finger on what just happened. It was like things were spinning out of control. I had control over her for the last three years, and in the blink of an eye, she asked for a divorce because of something she clearly knew Zara would never do.After four years of marriage, I thought I knew her very well. Before we got married, she was obsessive and clingy, but after we got married, she became submissive and obedient, a good wife. And today, I was in the office when I saw a message popped into my phone, upon reaching out to it, I saw a message from her asking for a divorce."I don't believe she's in her right state of mind. EmilyI squinted, trying to force my eyes open. After a few attempts, they finally flew open. Slowly, I looked around, not immediately recognizing where I was until my gaze landed on the familiar picture frame in my room.I realized I was home—in my room. But the question lingering in my mind was, how did I get here? I had been brought back to the mansion where my mother and stepfather lived.Tentatively, I stepped out of bed and made my way downstairs. As my gaze traveled to the clock on the wall, I saw it was almost noon. I must have slept for a long time, something I hadn’t done in the past four years of my marriage to Ryan.It had always been one chaos to another, doing house chores, trying to please Ryan, Zara, and his family members. But now, it was finally over. Deep down, I was hurt that I couldn't win his love in those four years, he was the perfect hubby for me. The kind of man I have always wanted to spend the rest of my life with, but there was nothing I could do about it

It was late night, I stood outside the house waiting for Ethan to come home. I called him some minutes back, and he made it known to me that his on his way home. I need to thank him for bringing me home. He was strongly against me getting married to Ryan, but since I insisted, he didn't push forward. We both attended the same university, and unfortunately, I found out he had a crush on me. It was just a crush, and that was before we found out our parents were seeing each other. I was privileged to gain scholarship into one of the most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom, and it's all thanks to my mother. Ryan's friend told me about the crush, but when I asked him, he denied it. Who knew our parents were in love and would get married someday. He admitted to having a crush on me when we became siblings. And since then, he's been doing all best to protect me and Lisa as his little sisters. I'm grateful I had someone like him as a big brother. He's been protecting and cari

I arrived at the hospital and found my mother in Biggy’s room. The others were probably out, but I didn’t bother asking her. She had been the one staying with him since he was admitted and hadn’t gone home. I marched toward her and pulled her into a hug. “How was your outing? I hope you got the information you needed?” She asked as I settled next to her. I exhaled sharply, taking her hands in mine. “I can’t wait for this to be over. I want peace, but it seems we’re not getting it anytime soon.” She sighed, but I couldn’t hold back what was weighing on my mind. It felt like I should just step down as president and go somewhere else. I longed for love and harmony with someone who matched my energy. Dealing with all this chaos was frustrating and exhausting, especially when there was no progress. “I hope you know your father is trying. He’s doing everything he can as a father to make sure you’re safe.” I nodded, aware that he had done far more for me than my biological father ever w

Emily I couldn't shake the suspicion that Zara might have something to do with this, even though Alex insisted Ryan has been defending her. How could someone suddenly feel intoxicated and fall into such a deep sleep at the same time? That doesn’t just happen unless something was spiked in their drink or food. As much as I don’t like Zara, it wouldn’t be fair to accuse her without proof. Still, with what Jasper said, it’s hard not to consider her a suspect. What irritated me the most was Alex calling me to come help. What was I supposed to do? Sleep with him just because he needed saving? It was ridiculous. The audacity he had to use Grace as an excuse to lure me there was infuriating. I sighed, running my hands through my hair, feeling more confused than ever. Nothing about this situation made sense. Standing up, I made my way to the door and pushed it open. As I stepped out, I caught sight of Alex striding toward his office. I’d been waiting for him to finish with a patient and c

I didn’t realize we had arrived at Alex’s mansion until I felt someone carrying me on their back. Jasper was panting heavily as he rushed me into the house. My eyes were half-closed, and I barely registered as we passed through the living room. Moments later, he gently laid me down on a bed. "What happened to him?" Alex’s voice sounded distant, almost muffled. I couldn’t make out Jasper’s response. "Just give me something to take away this sensation, please. I need to get somewhere." I pleaded, my voice weak. I could hear them making phone calls, their voices blending into the background as my eyelids grew heavier. Despite my best efforts, I couldn’t focus on their words. There were people moving around the room, their footsteps soft yet persistent, but I was unable to summon the strength to open my eyes. I didn’t want to drift off to sleep—Alex had to do something quickly so I could get to the address. This has to end. Even if it doesn’t, at least I’ll uncover who’s after me, eve

I arrived home only to be greeted by something I’d never expected to witness while living with her. What the hell has gotten into her? She was wearing a skimpy dress—something I’d never seen her do before. Is this how she’s been dressing at school? My mind raced with questions. What if someone comes to see me and finds her like this? The guards, or anyone else, could walk in. She just got back today, and if I don’t address this now, it might become a habit.Summoning courage, I knocked on the kitchen door to get her attention."Brother Ryan, welcome back." She said, turning around with a bright smile."Thank you. But why are you dressed like this? Anyone could walk in here, even the guards outside." I said, keeping my tone firm. She looked down at her outfit and then back up at me, seemingly unbothered. "There's nothing wrong with what I'm wearing." She replied, even spinning around as if to prove her point. If she doesn’t see anything wrong, there’s no point in pushing further. "Just

Ryan Just as I stepped out of the car, another car drove into the parking lot. Without waiting to see who was inside, I marched forward. Whoever it was, they knew their way to the entrance. I didn't have any appointments today, so there was no way they were coming to see me. I marched into the reception, ascended the stairs, and strode to my office. When I reached the elevator, I pressed the button for my floor, arms crossed as I waited for the elevator to ding. I felt a bit relieved that things at the new refinery were moving along fine, and there hadn't been any complaints so far from the manager in charge. I must commend him; he's doing an outstanding job. Business was going well, with nothing to worry about—except my personal affairs. My love life was a mess, all because of an anonymous figure who refused to let me act freely. I had delayed long enough. Taking the step to ask her to marry me was a relief, but I needed to keep putting pressure on her so she knows I am serious

I sat in a corner of the restaurant, waiting for Adams to show up. Samantha thinks I'm going down without a fight. She’s wrong. I'm going to fight her until my last breath. I'm being paid to do this, and I will do it. Adams reached out to me a few months ago with a deal I turned down, but now, I need him. I have to use him to get what I want. But I won't leave without something to my name. I need to figure out a way. It's been more than five minutes since I spoke to Adams on the phone. I wonder if he's coming.
