Emily

Ryan’s eyes darkened, his expression turning grim. "What the hell are you doing!" He cussed, as he pushed his way into the room.

"Emily." He called out to me, his voice was as cold as ice. Was he so afraid of what I might do to her? I can't believe he still cares so much about her even after his signed the divorce papers.

This just proves, he never felt anything for me. If he does, he wouldn't have attempted to sign the damn papers.

Zara's eyes widened with fake panic as she turned her look away, tears welling up in her eyes.

This was all she's good at, constantly trying to stand out as the good girl when she's the devil. I can't believe I endure this shit for the pass four years. Where were my senses? My steeze and demure? I can't believe I did everything for love and was never loved back.

“I swear, Emily, I didn’t do anything. You have got it all wrong.” She feigned even more, knowing he would side with her.

Was I really out of my mind to confront her in front of Ryan?

I smirked, my tone icy.

"Stop pretending. I know it’s you. Who else would send it to me, if not, you, Zara."

I walked up to her with a piercing gaze, pulled out the photo of Ryan I had printed from my phone, before coming over to the restaurant.

I slammed it down in front of them, watching each of their expression.

Ryan stared at the photo, his face a mix of shock and confusion, while Zara's face turned a ghastly pale, making her more suspicious.

It was obvious who took the photo. Zara had tried to hurt me but had ended up hurting herself instead.

How was she going to maintain her innocent façade now? She's always done that, but this time, she loses.

In the past, I might have hesitated because of Ryan's s presence, but not anymore, that's all in the past now.

I gave a faint smile, my voice frosty. “I came here to settle the score. You owe me, Zara." I pause, staring at her reaction, before I continued. "The person who destroys other people’s marriage is a homewrecker. That’s you. Now that you have gotten what you wanted, I hope you enjoy your new role."

Even Ryan could understand how I got the photo. He looked unsettled, his expression a blend of frustration and cold anger.

Seeing Zara’s pale face, Ryan’s face hardened, his eyes dark and frosty. If only I could tell was running wild in his mind. It would still be Zara, that's the only thing he's ever cared about.

Zara trembled, trying to defend herself. “Ryan, Emily’s mistaken. I didn’t do anything. I didn’t take the photo. She must have hired someone to set me up!” She lied, right in front of my face.

She's got no shame, what was I expecting.

Ryan’s brow furrowed as Zara clung to his arm, a drop of tears runs down her cheeks.

"Ryan, I will apologize to Emily. If donating blood to me will cause any issues, I promise I will stay away from her. I swear on my deceased brother’s name."

Hearing her swear by her deceased brother, Ryan's stern expression softened slightly, recalling her brother's dying wish.

“You must be mistaken! There's no way she would have done that. Why bring that up when you are supposed to be here to donate blood?" He inquired, changing the topic.

Zara, shook her head, her hand's still gripping tightly to him.

“It’s fine. I know she mistook everything.” Ryan nodded, and turned to me. I gave him a mocking smile, my face expressionless.

“You are divorcing me because of this?" He added, pointing to the picture I came with. "Fine, let’s get to the blood part first, then talk about that later.” He wanted to clear things up, but the situation wasn’t right. I'm not here to donate blood to anyone.

A photo wasn’t worth much to prove I was telling the truth. Zara's health was the priority, as always . He once again believed her lies.

I noticed her sighed in relief, knowing she had escaped this time. Ryan had chosen her.

I lost again!

I had anticipated this outcome. Zara's acting was top-notch. I would rather not expose her or get entangled further. Turning to the doctor calmly, I asked, “Are you sure she needs a transfusion?”

The doctor hesitated, then, seeing Zara's pale face and Ryan’s intense gaze, hurriedly nodded. “Yes, Miss Zara fall caused significant blood loss. She needs a transfusion.” He responded, but I wasn't surprised he would lie about it.

“Then let’s get on with it.” Ryan ordered coldly, his gaze piercing into mine.

“Okay.” The doctor responded, awkwardly heading off to prepare.

Zara shot me a triumphant smile from an unseen angle.

"Wait." I commanded, I won't let them have their way this time.

Instead of complying as usual, I stepped forward and yanked off Zara’s blanket with a fierce, commanding motion.

Ignoring her discomfort, I revealed her bandaged leg. Overriding her attempts to resist, she ripped off the bandage.

The room’s atmosphere dropped to freezing.

I stared at the barely scraped wound in her leg, my scorn deepening.

“So severe, huh? There’s hardly any blood. If I had come any later, it might have healed by now…”

“Emily, you… Ryan, it’s not what it looks like. I recover quickly from blood transfusions…” Zara, meeting Xander’s intense gaze, made her panicked and stammered.

“A month of injuries four or five times? It seems like you want to drain me dry.” I said coldly.

“But you won’t get that chance again. Let Ryan find another fool to be your mobile blood bank.”

With a final, scornful laugh, I turned and walked out of the room.

Immediately I stepped my leg outside, I heaved a loud sigh of relief, and collapsed onto a chair in the corridor, feeling utterly defeated and abandoned. I can't believe four years just ended.

Overwhelmed by sorrow, tears streamed down my face. I mustered the strength to call someone, my voice choked with exhaustion. It rang, and immediately the figure picked up.

"Hello! Please take me home!" I mumbled, and proceeded to end the call.
