Zara's POV

"What the hell are you doing?" Cassius's voice rang out, and I jumped up, my heart racing. I'm in soup. What to do now?

I quickly removed the flash drive and wriggled it tightly in my hand. "I was checking if your system is still working due to the drink that poured." I said, trying to sound as innocent as possible and stood up, behaving as if I was dusting my trousers, and slipped the flash drive into my side pocket, hoping he wouldn't notice.

Cassius didn't say anything and just descended the stairs, his piercing eyes fixed on me, making me shiver.

He came to his laptop, his gaze scanning the screen as if searching for tampering. Thank goodness I had quickly cleared what I was doing. He glanced and glared at me, then walked to the dining room.

I stood in front of him, watching him eat with calmness . It is hard to believe this handsome beast, with his chiselled features, structured face, and piercing green eyes, was a Mafia Lord who killed someone without battling an eyelid. He looked calm, almost serene as he savoured his meal. Damn it, I wished I could wriggle his head off right now.

"Why are you looking at me that way?" he asked suddenly, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine.

"Because I'm tired." I replied, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible.

"Then, go and sleep." he said, his tone dismissive, and I bowed slightly, trying to hide my frustration and walking to the door but was stopped by the bastard husky voice. "Pack the dishes first."

I scoffed, then went back, packed the dishes, dropped it in the kitchen, and returned to the dining room. I bowed again, rudely this time, and turned to leave, but his husky voice came through again. "Wait." he said. Heck. What did he want now? I mentally screamed.

I slowly turned to look at him, and I almost jumped up at his towering figure in front of me. When had he gotten here? When had he gotten so close? I raised my head slowly to look at him, and I gulped down on my spit when our lips were just mere inches away. My heart does this weird doubling over thing, and I quickly take my eyes off him, trying to compose myself.

"Where did you think you are going?" he asked, his voice low and menacing.

"To my room, of course." I replied, trying to sound as innocent as possible.

"Are you talking to me that way?" he asked, his voice rising, and I bit my lips to refrain myself from spitting my answer into his fucking handsome face.

"Stop doing that." he said, his eyes darkening. Stop doing what? I wondered what I had done wrong this time. He didn't say anymore word but turned and went upstairs immediately. What's wrong with him? I don't care! At least, I can go to my room now.

I got into my room, locked my door and quickly brought out my secret phone, to dial Xander's number. I let out a deep breath as I waited for him to answer.

"Thank goodness you are safe." His daddish voice came through the phone, and I chuckled.

"Have you forgotten who it is?" I teased, trying to lighten the mood.

"Of course, I do. But I'm happy the little kid who was scared that her small head would be marked is safe." he said, and I could imagine him smirking on the other end of the line.

"Stop the teasing and get straight to business." I said, and I heard Xander flipping some papers.

"Yeah, a human trafficking had happened in the club, but it was cancelled. The ladies are safe in the hospital right now, but we aren't sure of the person that started and the person that stopped it, but Cassius is involved in one way or the other." he explained, his tone serious. Cassius involvement would only be initiating it because I had seen the message from Shadow earlier that it's happening tonight. So they had definitely initiated it, but who could have saved them and destroyed the Mafia Lord mission. It would definitely be someone who knows about the mission and has enough power to stop it. But who?

"Have you found anything yet?" Xander asked, breaking through my thoughts, and I remembered the flash drive. I wasn't even sure if it had copied finish.

"I'm coming, Xan." I said, heading to where my laptop was on the table and dipped the flash drive into it. I rummaged through the files, but I never found out. It wasn't copied. Dammit! I muttered.

"What's wrong?" Xan asked.

"I had found a folder named 'M' on his PC, but I wasn't able to copy it finish because he had come in. My guts tell me there's something there that I need to see." I said, frustration getting over my damn self. I can't believe I had risked that time for nothing.

"Just be careful, kiddo. Never get caught. Take your time, seduce him, and get information out of him. Do that first, and go ahead with killing him." Xander said, his voice serious and concerned.

"I know, Xan. I'll try to get more information out of Cassius. But I need you to dig deeper into the club's surveillance footage and see if you can find any leads on who stopped the trafficking operation," I replied,

"Already on it, kiddo. I'll get my team to work on it ASAP. But be careful, Z. Cassius is not a man to be trifled with. He's got eyes and ears everywhere," Xander warned.

"Don't worry, Xan. I've got this under control. I've been playing the innocent little servant girl perfectly. He thinks I'm just a silly little thing who's only good for cleaning and serving," I said, even though I know a part of it was a lie. I had been rude to him, but I just couldn't control myself.

"Good, good. Just remember, your cover is your best asset right now. Don't blow it, kiddo. We're counting on you," Xander said, his tone firm but encouraging.

"I won't, Xan. I promise."

"Okay, kiddo. Keep me posted. And don't forget to stay safe. We don't know what kind of game Cassius is playing, and we don't want you to get caught in the crossfire," Xander said, concern etched in his voice.

"I will, Xan," I said, ending the call and letting out a deep breath. "The game has just begun."

****

"Why the hell is that bastard not coming downstairs," I muttered to myself, pacing back and forth in the grand foyer. I had been here for the past two hours, cooking and preparing everything, and the asshole hadn't even bothered to show his face. I knew I had arrived late, instead of my usual 7 a.m. arrival, I had strolled in at 10 a.m. Actually, I had woken up a few minutes to 9, but getting dressed and ready had taken some time. Don't blame me, I had slept in late last night and I guess I had slept that much because I was fucking exhausted from the run and everything.

Should I go upstairs and try to rouse him from his slumber? Or was he not even in the house? Had he gone out to take care of some business, or worse, gone out to eliminate someone? That bastard. But if he had really gone out, it would be an achievement for me, at least I would be able to snoop around his things without him breathing down my neck. I would surely find a lead, I'm sure of that.

I adjusted my dress, smoothing out the wrinkles of the long, straight blue gown that had a daring slit from my upper thigh downward. The deep V-neckline was designed to make my boobs pop out, and I knew I was on a mission. To seduce the Mafia King.

I climbed the stairs, my heels clicking on the marble floor, and reached the upstairs landing. Mahn. This place was damn stunning, painted exactly like a luxury hotel looking to impress its high-end clients. There were two doors opposite each other; one was painted in green and the other in blue. No doubt, the green one was Cassius's room. I knocked slightly on the door, but there was no response.

I slowly opened the door, and my eyes widened in shock at the sight that greeted me. Cassius was sitting on the edge of the bed, naked except for his trousers that had fallen to his feet, and a half-naked whore was kneeling in front of him, her mouth wrapped around his dick.

Cassius's eyes fell on me, and I knew at that moment, with his deadly glare, that I was fucking dead. Damn. Xander would miss me. I wish I could just say goodbye to him one last time; he really tried for me. He really did.

"Leave!" Cassius growled, his voice low and menacing, and I quickly scurried to open the door, not wanting to be on the receiving end of his wrath.

"Delia, leave! Crystal, stay!"

Zara's POV I looked at myself in the mirror one last time. Perfect. Handsome bastard, here I come. I packed my luggage, and damn it, they were too heavy. I had crammed in everything I could think of: outfits for every occasion, a few weapons for protection, lingeries. I needed to be prepared. A knock came at the door, pulling me from my thoughts. I opened it to see Xander, giving me that infuriatingly charming old smile of his. "Need some help, kid?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. I scoffed, stepping aside to let him in. He grabbed my luggage like they were made of feathers and carried them down to his car. I followed and we got into the car, and he ignited the fire into the engine. As we drove, Xander's expression turned serious. "We got a report that he killed thirteen people yesterday." "What the fuck?!" I screamed, feeling the blood rush from my face. Thirteen! Zara's POV Running. I just felt myself running. No, I was running. But to where? I don't know! The sight I had just seen made me lose my senses. I had seen Cassius write a bold 'M' on an innocent man's head. The bastard had done it without a hint of remorse, then he had shot him right in the forehead. Devil. When I had fled the club, I didn't go back home and had just stood at a corner outside the club. Cassius emerged moments later, cool and collected, entering his car and driving off as if nothing had happened. I quickly hailed a taxi and followed him, my heart racing.
