Aurora’s POV

Dominic’s words echoed in my mind as I slowly made my way up the grand staircase.

A war among the Big Four families.

The Maranzanos. The Valentinos. The Riccis. The DeLucas.

I had heard whispers about them before, but I never thought I would be caught in the middle of their power struggles. I never thought the man I loved was one of them.

My hand instinctively moved to my stomach, a protective gesture. If Dominic was in danger, that meant our child was too.

The weight of everything pressed down on me, my thoughts racing, my vision blurring slightly as exhaustion washed over me. Last night has been a nightmare. The chase, the gunfire, the threats… and now, this revelation.

I needed rest.

I gripped the railing as I climbed the last few steps, but just as I was about to reach the hallway—

My foot slipped.

Everything happened so fast.

A sharp gasp tore from my lips as my body lurched forward. The staircase blurred as I tumbled down, my arms flailing desperately to catch onto

Aurora's POV “Are you certain?” Dominic’s voice was sharp, laced with something I rarely heard from him—shock.“Yes, sir. The information is solid. She’s alive. And she’s looking for Aurora.”My heart stopped.Who?I pushed the door open without thinking. Dominic and Luca both turned to me, but I was already staring at Dominic, my chest rising and falling.“Who’s looking for me?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.Dominic held my gaze for a long moment before answering.“Your mother, Aurora. She’s alive.”My breath caught in my throat as the memories rushed back—ones I had buried deep, ones too painful to remember.Tears welled in my eyes before I could stop them. I shook my head, my voice trembling as I whispered, “No… I didn’t know.”Dominic’s grip tightened slightly, grounding me, but nothing could stop the storm inside me.“My mother… she had a fight with my father,” I began, my voice cracking. “It was bad. I was just a child, but I remember the way they yelled at each oth

Julie’s POVMy breath came in short, frantic gasps as I pressed myself against the cold brick wall, listening intently for any sound of approaching footsteps.Joanne was looking for me.She had men everywhere, and if they found me, I knew what my fate would be.I had spent years in hiding, running from the people who wanted me dead. But this time, I wasn’t running for myself. I was running to find my daughter, Amber Raven. She was out there somewhere, and I had to get to her before Leo Levine did.I peeked around the corner, my heart pounding. The street was empty. For now.I pulled my hood lower over my face and moved quickly through the shadows, keeping to the narrow alleys. I couldn’t risk being seen. I needed a place to stay—a place where Joanne’s men wouldn’t think to look. I stopped in front of a small, rundown house at the edge of the city. The porch light flickered weakly, and the paint on the door was peeling. It had been years since I had last seen Samantha Carter, but she

The streets blurred past me as I hurried through the dimly lit roads, my heartbeat loud in my ears. I could barely think straight as I rushed back to the only place I could call home now—Monica’s house.Monica had been my best friend for as long as I could remember. She was the only one who had stayed when everyone else disappeared.I reached her small apartment and knocked quickly.Seconds later, the door swung open, revealing Monica’s concerned face.“Julie?” she asked, taking one look at me. “What happened?”I stepped inside, locking

Aurora’s POVMorning light streamed through the curtains as I stood in front of the mirror, brushing my hair. My mind was heavy with everything that had happened in the past few days—Dominic’s injury, the attack on the road, and the shocking revelation about my mother still being alive.I placed a hand on my stomach, feeling a mix of emotions swirl inside me. I needed fresh air, a distraction. That’s why I decided to go to the mall today.I reached for a comfortable yet stylish outfit—a pair of black jeans and a simple sweater that hugged my figure. Just as I finished dressing, the door opened, and Dominic stepped in.He was already dressed in a sharp black suit, exuding power and confidence. His dark eyes swept over me, his expression unreadable.“You’re going to the mall?” he asked casually, though there was an edge to his voice.I nodded, fastening my watch. “Yes. I need to get a few things.”Dominic studied me for a moment before adjusting his cufflinks. “I’m coming with you.”I f

Aurora’s POVI could barely breathe as I held my mother’s hand, leading her through the mall. My heart was racing, my mind spinning with a million questions, this moment felt surreal. I was afraid that if I let go of her hand, she would disappear, and I’d wake up from a cruel dream.“Come with me,” I said softly, squeezing her fingers. “There’s someone you need to meet.”She followed me without hesitation, though I could feel her gaze darting around, still trying to process everything. The shock was evident in her trembling hands, and I wasn’t sure if it was from happiness, fear, or both.As we turned the corner, my eyes instantly landed on Dominic. He was standing near the entrance, his tall frame radiating dominance and authority, but when he saw me, his eyes softened. He must have noticed the way I was holding my mother’s hand because his brows furrowed in curiosity.“Aurora?” he called, taking a step forward.I stopped just a few feet away from him, swallowing hard before looking

Aurora's POV The bodyguards wasted no time unloading the countless shopping bags from the trunk, carrying them effortlessly towards the house. Each of them moved in a disciplined manner, their gazes alert, scanning for any potential threats even in the safety of our home.My mother looked around in awe, her fingers tightening slightly around mine. "You live here?" she asked in a quiet voice.I nodded. "Yes. Come on, let's get you inside."She hesitated for a moment, as if overwhelmed by the sheer size of the estate. I could see the emotions flickering in her eyes—uncertainty, hesitation, and something deeper.I squeezed her hand reassuringly before leading her toward the entrance. Dominic followed close behind, his presence solid and unwavering. The moment we stepped inside, warmth enveloped us, the contrast to the cold air outside making me exhale softly. The bodyguards carried the bags past us, taking them straight to the walk-in closet in my room, placing everything down carefully

Aurora's POVMy mother’s phone rang suddenly, breaking the heavy silence in the room. She glanced at the screen, and a small, relieved smile crossed her lips. “It’s Monica,” she murmured, then answered the call.“Julie!” Monica’s voice came through, slightly rushed. “I was waiting for you to come back. Where have you been?”My mother sighed. “Monica, I’m so sorry. I wanted to call you earlier, but something unexpected happened.” She glanced at me, her fingers tightening around the phone. “I found my daughter… Amber—no, Aurora. She’s with me now.”Monica gasped. “That’s wonderful news, Julie! I—”But before she could finish, another voice cut through the background, a voice that made my mother stiffen and my blood run cold.Joanne.I could hear her smooth yet venomous tone, muffled slightly but still unmistakable. She was in Monica’s house. Then there was a rustling sound, followed by Monica’s startled gasp, and Joanne’s voice became clearer.“Well, well… Sister,” Joanne’s voice drippe

Could he really be hiding something from me? He had always been protective, always there when I needed him. But what if it was all an act? What if Joanne was right?I shook my head, frustrated. No. I couldn’t just believe Joanne blindly. She had spent years manipulating me, lying to me. But at the same time… something about her words felt too deliberate. Too confident. What if there was even a sliver of truth to them?I turned onto my side, staring at the moonlight casting shadows across the room. I needed to find out the truth for myself. But do you really have a choice, Dominic?"Before I could say another word, a weak but urgent voice cut through the tension."Dominic, don’t trust him!"My entire body froze. My eyes snapped to Aurora, who was still tied to the chair. Her lips were dry, and her eyes were filled with desperation.Patrick cursed under his breath, moving toward her, but I lifted my gun, stopping him in his tracks."What did you just say?" I asked Aurora.Patrick clenched his jaw and glared at her, but the moment he released the cloth gagging her mouth, Aurora gasped for air and spoke again, this time stronger."Dominic, that’s not the real flash drive!
