AURORA'S POV

Dominic’s grip on the phone tightened. "I don't need to run?" he asked, his voice dangerously low.

Leo chuckled. "Then I won’t be so kind."

I felt my breath hitch.

Dominic's expression darkened, his knuckles white as he clenched his fist. I knew what he was thinking. Running wasn’t an option anymore. Leo Levine wasn’t just threatening him, he was threatening our child.

And I wouldn’t let that happen.

Dominic ended the call without another word and turned to me. His eyes were filled with unspoken words, worry clouding his normally strong gaze.

"He knows," I whispered, holding my daughter tighter.

"He always knew," Dominic admitted, running a hand through his hair. "But now he’s running out of patience."

My heart pounded. "What do we do?"

He exhaled sharply, pacing the hospital room like a caged lion. "I need to get you ou

AURORA'S POV A shadow. Quick but unmistakable. My body tensed, my grip tightening around the phone."Aurora?" my mom’s voice pulled me back.I forced myself to focus. Maybe I was just paranoid. Maybe it was nothing."I’m here," I said quickly. "I’ll call you back soon, okay? I love you."I hung up and turned to Dominic."I want to see the baby," I said suddenly.Dominic frowned. "The nurse said she needed rest, Aurora. You need rest too—""No," I insisted, standing up. The pain in my body was still there, but a strange feeling had settled in my chest. "I need to see her. Right now."Dominic looked at me for a long second, then sighed and nodded. "Fine. Let’s go."I let him guide me down the hallway, my heart beating a little too fast. When we reached the nursery, my blood ran cold. The crib where my daughter had been resting was empty. The tiny blankets were still there, untouched. But my baby…My baby was gone.I felt the room tilt, my breath catching in my throat."No…" I whispered

Aurora’s POVTears streamed down my face as I ran through the hospital halls, my heart pounding so hard it felt like it would burst out of my chest. My baby was gone. My baby!"Where is my child?!" I screamed, shoving past nurses and doctors, my eyes darting everywhere, desperate for a clue.Dominic was just as frantic, pushing open every door, demanding answers from the hospital staff. But no one knew anything. It was like my baby had vanished into thin air.I felt my knees weaken, my body trembling as the reality hit me like a brutal storm—I had just given birth, and now my child was missing. Then, out of the corner of my eye, something caught my attention. A small, delicate bangle lying on the baby’s bed. My breath hitched as I reached out with shaking hands, picking it up.I knew this bangle. I had seen it before. For a second, I couldn’t place it, but then the memory rushed back like a lightning bolt—Isabella. She had worn this bangle before. I had noticed it on her wrist once wh

Dominic’s POVI tightened my grip on the steering wheel, my mind racing as I sped through the dark streets. The city lights blurred past me, but my focus was on only one thing, ending this mess before it got worse.I pressed my phone to my ear, my voice firm. "Listen carefully. Isabella is still in the city. I want every single one of you searching for her. Check the airports, train stations, every damn motel and abandoned building, she won’t get far. I want her found before sunrise.""Yes, boss," my man responded. "We’re already tracking her movements. There was a report of a woman matching her description entering a private clinic. We’re checking it now."A private clinic? That made no sense. Why would she go there? Unless… she wasn’t alone."Who else was with her?" I demanded."We’re not sure yet. The clinic is off the grid. No surveillance, no paper trails. But we’ll find out."I clenched my jaw. "Good. Call me the second you have anything."I ended the call, my grip tightening ar

Isabella’s POVI arrived home, locking the door behind me. The night was cold, and the silence in the house felt strange, but I shook the feeling off. Joanna was probably resting.I walked into the kitchen, placing the baby down gently in a small basket before heading to prepare dinner. The sound of boiling water and chopping vegetables filled the space, and for a brief moment, everything felt normal. After setting the table, I wiped my hands on a cloth and made my way to Joanna’s room."Joanna," I called, knocking lightly. No answer.I pushed the door open, peering inside. The bed was empty. The room was dark.I frowned. Maybe she had stepped out for a bit.I returned to the dining table, sitting down and eating slowly. But as time passed and Joanna still didn’t return, an uneasy feeling crept over me."Where could she be?" I muttered, glancing at the clock. After finishing my food, I stood up and stretched."Let me check on the baby," I said to myself, walking over to where the litt

Aurora’s POVI sat on the bed, staring at the floor, my mind blank. My heart was still heavy with pain, my eyes red from crying. Every second that passed without my baby felt like a knife twisting inside me.My phone rang again, vibrating beside me. I didn’t even flinch. I didn’t want to see another unknown number. For the past few hours, I had been getting strange calls—numbers I didn’t recognize. Some calls rang once and ended before I could even pick up. Others lasted longer, but there was never a voice on the other end.I was tired.Tired of the pain. Tired of feeling helpless about finding my baby.Dominic stepped out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist, steam following him. He glanced at me, then at the phone buzzing on the nightstand."Aurora, why aren’t you picking up your calls?" he asked, walking toward me.I shrugged, my voice hollow. "It’s just another unknown number."But before I could turn away, the phone rang again.Dominic reached for it, and this time,

ISABELLA'S POVHe let out a humorless chuckle. "No. I’ve been watching."I stiffened. "Watching?"He nodded. "I knew Joanna was up to something. She was too desperate to leave the city, and she kept making secret phone calls. I followed her."My stomach dropped."And?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.Patrick’s eyes darkened. "She’s planning to disappear for good. With the baby."A cold shiver ran down my spine."Where is she taking her?" I asked, fear gripping me.Patrick hesitated, then pulled out his phone. He tapped the screen a few times before turning it toward me."Look at this," he said.I leaned forward, my heart hammering as I saw a screenshot of a flight booking. Joanna’s name was on the ticket. The destination…Somewhere far.Somewhere we wouldn’t be able to find her."She’s leaving the country," I whispered in shock.Patrick nodded grimly. "And if we don’t stop her, she’ll be gone by tomorrow."I swallowed hard, my mind racing.Joanna had always been careful, alw

Dominic's POVAurora’s hands curled into fists. "I hate him! He’s playing with your life, Dominic. With my life! How do we know he won’t betray us after he gets what he wants?"She was right.Patrick wasn’t the kind of man who played fair. Once he got the ring, he could easily sell the evidence to the highest bidder or…worse, destroy it just to watch us burn.I couldn’t take that risk.I needed a backup plan.Just then, the doctor walked into the waiting room. "Mr. Hayes, Miss Aurora, you can come in now."I took Aurora’s hand, and we followed the doctor into the private hospital room.Inside, a small crib stood in the center of the room.Aurora gasped, her grip on my hand tightening.I stepped closer, my heart pounding in my chest. The baby lay there, her tiny hands curled into fists, her little chest rising and falling with each br

Patrick’s POVI leaned back in my chair, a smug grin on my face as I poured myself another drink. The rich amber liquid swirled in my glass, and I took a slow sip, savoring the taste of victory."Finally," I muttered, letting out a deep sigh of satisfaction. "I have the upper hand."For so long, I had been a pawn in this dangerous game, used by Joanna, underestimated by Dominic, and overlooked by everyone else. But now? Now, I held the one thing that could change everything—the evidence that Dominic desperately needed to save Aurora. With that evidence in my possession, I was in control. Dominic would have to meet my demands. If he truly wanted to clear Aurora’s name, he had no choice but to give me the Hayes family ring. That ring was my key to power, my ticket to stepping into a world I had only dreamed of."Imagine that," I chuckled to myself, raising my glass in a mock toast. "Patrick Hayes, the new h

Dominic’s POVI stared at the flash drive in my hand, my grip tightening. How could I be sure this was the real evidence? Patrick was a snake, I wouldn’t put it past him to hand me something useless just to trap me."How do I know this is real?" I asked, my voice low and dangerous.Patrick smirked, his confidence irritating me. "You don’t. But do you really have a choice, Dominic?"Before I could say another word, a weak but urgent voice cut through the tension."Dominic, don’t trust him!"My entire body froze. My eyes snapped to Aurora, who was still tied to the chair. Her lips were dry, and her eyes were filled with desperation.Patrick cursed under his breath, moving toward her, but I lifted my gun, stopping him in his tracks."What did you just say?" I asked Aurora.Patrick clenched his jaw and glared at her, but the moment he released the cloth gagging her mouth, Aurora gasped for air and spoke again, this time stronger."Dominic, that’s not the real flash drive! A master of deception. He wanted me to go to the wrong place while he did whatever sick thing he had planned. The tracking device on Aurora’s phone had been steady for the past few minutes, but then…“Sir, the tracking has stopped.”My heart slammed against my ribs.“What?” I barked, gripping the wheel tighter.“The signal just cut off.
