38. Full of Anxiety

"What happened to you, Bell?" Angel was seen sitting on the side of the bed, looking at Bella who was still lying there helplessly. "Why is it like this?"

"He just had head surgery, darling... he needs time to regain consciousness," answered Mrs. Matthew rubbed his daughter's shoulder gently.

"But he'll wake up again, right, Mom?" Angel's eyes moved around, observing Bella's head which was wrapped in a circle of gauze.

"We doctors are still observing him, Angel."

Angel took a deep breath, hoping to relieve the tightness in his chest. In one night, it felt like he had been hit by a torrent of pain. Her best friend lay helpless, and the man she began to love betrayed her.

"Angel, it's late, we have to go home," said Mrs. Matthew in a gentle tone.

"Can I just wait here, Mom," Angel asked softly.

"This is the ICU room, Angel... not an inpatient room that can be occupied by the waiter for a long time," admonished Mrs. Matthew is gentle.
