"And your sister wants to see you," Mommy said with a sad tone. I looked at them questioningly, but all I received in response was a nod.

Sitting outside Aria's room were Manang Renee, Jiro, and Kent. The lined-up chairs resembled a waiting area. I looked at each of them, and I could see the same emotions in their eyes—sadness.

I nodded to Mommy and then grabbed the doorknob, taking a deep breath before entering Aria's room. I found her looking out the window, with sunlight streaming in.

"Aria," I called out to her. She turned to face me and smiled. I approached her and kissed her forehead. "How are you?" I asked, scanning her condition. She had an IV attached to her right arm and was wearing a hospital gown.

"I'm not really fine," she said, and then she sat down. I was about to hand her a tissue when she covered her mouth with her hand. When she removed it, I saw that her hand was stained with blood. I gasped and handed her the tissue.
