Chapter 14: Flying feelings

Liam paced the length of the hospital waiting room, his mind racing as he tried to keep his anger in check. He’d just left Chelsea’s room, where the doctors were running final checks. They assured him she would recover, but the sight of her lying unconscious had ignited a fury he hadn’t felt in a long time. Reese sat nearby, watching him with concern, though she kept her silence.

The hospital door swung open, and his head of security, Marcus, strode in, his expression grim. He stopped a few feet away from Liam, waiting for permission to speak.

“Report,” Liam said sharply, barely sparing him a glance as he continued pacing.

Marcus straightened. “Aria’s being held in a secure room at your request. She’s… not happy.”

Liam let out a dark chuckle, the sound devoid of humor. “I didn’t expect her to be. Did she admit anything?”

“Not much, sir. She’s been demanding her release and claiming that Chelsea’s fall was an accident.”

Reese scoffed quietly from her seat,

Chapter 15: Aria's stubborn plansLiam entered the dimly lit room where Aria sat, her hands crossed defiantly over her chest. Her expression shifted as soon as she saw him—her confidence faltered but returned almost immediately, masked by a look of disdain. She sat back, trying to appear unfazed, but Liam could sense the underlying tension.“Aria,” he said calmly, stepping closer, his voice cold and controlled. “What are you doing? Why would you go to such extremes?”Aria huffed, tossing her hair back. “Why should I have to explain myself to you, Liam? Since when do you care?” She narrowed her eyes at him. “Or is this all for Chelsea? The new little project of yours?”Liam’s jaw tightened, but he kept his gaze steady. “Chelsea has nothing to do with this. My concern here is the way you’re acting. Trying to hurt someone else, causing this chaos—it’s low, even for you.”Aria laughed bitterly. “Low? You have the nerve to lecture me about ‘low’?” She scoffed, folding her arms tighter. “Yo

Valerie had crossed a line, and Reese wasn’t about to let her get away with it.It didn’t take long to find Valerie. She was sitting at a small coffee shop just outside the hospital, scrolling through her phone, looking completely unbothered by the chaos she had caused. Reese watched her for a moment, incredulous at how composed she seemed. Taking a deep breath, Reese approached her.“Valerie,” Reese said, her voice cool but steady.Valerie looked up, surprised. “Reese! What are you doing here?”“I think you know exactly why I’m here,” Reese replied, crossing her arms as she stood in front of Valerie. “We need to talk. Now.”Valerie raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. “Oh? About what?”

Chapter 19: Under SiegeLiam paced in his office, his jaw clenched as he replayed the words of Charles Weston over and over in his head. The man had called with an ultimatum, his voice cold and dripping with venom. “Let my daughter go, Liam, or I’ll make sure your mother and grandmother suffer the consequences.”The threat hit its mark. As much as Liam loathed the idea of bowing to Charles’s demands, he knew he couldn’t risk his family’s safety. Charles was a man of influence and ruthlessness, capable of anything. Liam slammed his fist on the desk in frustration, anger simmering beneath his calm exterior.Just then, Reese walked into the room, her usual confident expression tempered by concern. She’d heard parts of the conversation and understood the position Liam was in.“What are you going to do?” she asked softly, placing a steadying hand on his shoulder.Liam let out a weary sigh. “I don’t have a choice.
