Chapter 14: Flying feelings

Liam paced the length of the hospital waiting room, his mind racing as he tried to keep his anger in check. He’d just left Chelsea’s room, where the doctors were running final checks. They assured him she would recover, but the sight of her lying unconscious had ignited a fury he hadn’t felt in a long time. Reese sat nearby, watching him with concern, though she kept her silence.

The hospital door swung open, and his head of security, Marcus, strode in, his expression grim. He stopped a few feet away from Liam, waiting for permission to speak.

“Report,” Liam said sharply, barely sparing him a glance as he continued pacing.

Marcus straightened. “Aria’s being held in a secure room at your request. She’s… not happy.”

Liam let out a dark chuckle, the sound devoid of humor. “I didn’t expect her to be. Did she admit anything?”

“Not much, sir. She’s been demanding her release and claiming that Chelsea’s fall was an accident.”

Reese scoffed quietly from her seat,

Chapter 15: Aria's stubborn plansLiam entered the dimly lit room where Aria sat, her hands crossed defiantly over her chest. Her expression shifted as soon as she saw him—her confidence faltered but returned almost immediately, masked by a look of disdain. She sat back, trying to appear unfazed, but Liam could sense the underlying tension.“Aria,” he said calmly, stepping closer, his voice cold and controlled. “What are you doing? Why would you go to such extremes?”Aria huffed, tossing her hair back. “Why should I have to explain myself to you, Liam? Since when do you care?” She narrowed her eyes at him. “Or is this all for Chelsea? The new little project of yours?”Liam’s jaw tightened, but he kept his gaze steady. “Chelsea has nothing to do with this. My concern here is the way you’re acting. Trying to hurt someone else, causing this chaos—it’s low, even for you.”Aria laughed bitterly. “Low? You have the nerve to lecture me about ‘low’?” She scoffed, folding her arms tighter. “Yo

Chapter 16: Reese's ThreatReese left Chelsea’s hospital room with a sense of purpose she hadn’t felt in a long time. She had every intention of finding Valerie and having a serious word with her. As she walked through the quiet hospital corridors, she mentally prepared herself for the confrontation. Valerie had crossed a line, and Reese wasn’t about to let her get away with it.It didn’t take long to find Valerie. She was sitting at a small coffee shop just outside the hospital, scrolling through her phone, looking completely unbothered by the chaos she had caused. Reese watched her for a moment, incredulous at how composed she seemed. Taking a deep breath, Reese approached her.“Valerie,” Reese said, her voice cool but steady.Valerie looked up, surprised. “Reese! What are you doing here?”“I think you know exactly why I’m here,” Reese replied, crossing her arms as she stood in front of Valerie. “We need to talk. Now.”Valerie raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. “Oh? About what?”

Chapter 17: The Cost of BetrayalLiam stood in the dimly lit room, his mind still replaying the conversation with Charles Weston. The threat was real, and though he wasn’t one to be intimidated easily, something about the way Charles had spoken sent a chill down his spine. It wasn’t just the words; it was the tone, the subtle promise of revenge.Aria’s father had made it clear that he would do whatever it took to make Liam pay for holding his daughter accountable. But Liam wasn’t backing down. Not now. Not ever. His phone buzzed, cutting through his thoughts. It was a message from Reese, reminding him of a meeting that was fast approaching. He didn’t have time to dwell on the conversation with Charles any longer; there were bigger issues at hand. But he knew, deep down, that this was far from over.---An hour later, Liam arrived at the meeting venue. The room was packed with people from all corners of the business world, each eager to make deals and discuss new ventures. But his focu

Chapter 18: The Reckoning BeginsLiam’s grip tightened around his phone as he ended the call with Reese. She had given him the latest on Aria’s father, Charles Weston, who had intensified his threats. It was clear Charles wasn't bluffing, and he was prepared to go to any length to punish Liam for holding Aria. This wasn’t just business anymore; it was personal.Leaning back in his office chair, Liam felt the weight of the situation pressing down on him. He had known that dealing with the Westons would bring complications, but he hadn’t anticipated it would reach this level. Aria's reckless actions were now spiraling into a full-blown war between families and companies. But Liam was determined—he wouldn’t let Charles Weston control his life, and he certainly wouldn’t let anyone endanger Chelsea again.---The next morning, Chelsea sat up in her hospital bed, slightly wincing as the faint ache in her head reminded her of the fall. Reese was seated beside her, flipping through a magazine

Chapter 19: Under SiegeLiam paced in his office, his jaw clenched as he replayed the words of Charles Weston over and over in his head. The man had called with an ultimatum, his voice cold and dripping with venom. “Let my daughter go, Liam, or I’ll make sure your mother and grandmother suffer the consequences.”The threat hit its mark. As much as Liam loathed the idea of bowing to Charles’s demands, he knew he couldn’t risk his family’s safety. Charles was a man of influence and ruthlessness, capable of anything. Liam slammed his fist on the desk in frustration, anger simmering beneath his calm exterior.Just then, Reese walked into the room, her usual confident expression tempered by concern. She’d heard parts of the conversation and understood the position Liam was in.“What are you going to do?” she asked softly, placing a steadying hand on his shoulder.Liam let out a weary sigh. “I don’t have a choice. I have to let Aria go.”Reese nodded, understanding the weight of his decisio

No records, no background, nothing that could link him to any existing family. The only thing that came close was a Hudson family that used to live in France.”Reese frowned as she skimmed through the documents. “Hudson family?”Kim nodded. “Yeah, but their only son supposedly died in a car accident twenty years ago.”Reese’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately dropped the papers and looked at Kim with a sharp intensity. “The Hudsons… I know that family.
