"What was that all about?" I asked Vladimir after Dave, his assistant, left.

"Didn't you ask for a job?" he asked sarcastically.

"Y-yeah," I stammered when his eyes focused on me. I felt my heart skip a freaking beat. "I did. But... I was thinking more of a secretarial job." I forced myself to explain no matter how difficult it was under his prying gaze.

"Did you think I would allow that?" his eyes narrowed. "You are my wife. What would people think if I will let you be some errand girl? And didn't you say you wanted to be productive?"

I gulped.

"I'm afraid I'm underqualified for everything," I murmured.

"Of course you are," he snapped. My heart clenched a little, but I tried to ignore it. He was only spitting facts. I shouldn't be sensitive about it.

"That's why you have to work with Dave. He will teach you everything you have to know," he said.
