The whole day went by with Hazel reading a book in her room, trying get her mind off the current situation. she didn't see Damien after breakfast, she guessed he was out working. She finally got tired and decided to take a stroll around the house, she was still trying to find her way around the house... it was just so huge. She wore a white flare dress that reached her knees and headed for the elevator which took her to the ground floor. This time, she let her hair lose, and it fell to her back.Getting to the ground floor, she was once again amazed by the sight of the cozy looking living room. She walked to the dining area where she and Damien had sat and had breakfast in the morning. Noticing a door at the corner, she decided to see where it led. She opened the door, and was welcomed by a big room that had many utensils. Pots, cookers, fridges, microwaves, even a coffee machine...it was obviously a kitchen.Walking steadily towards the coffee machine, Hazel stared at it, contemplating whether or not to make coffee for herself... she loved coffee. in the end, she had mad a hot, creamy cup for herself, and steam rose from it. She closed her eyes and inhaled, savoring the sweet aroma of coffee and milk. She was so engrossed, she didn't realize Damien had walked into the kitchen. He paused, staring at her from afar, he had not expected her to be here. Regaining his composure, he took slow and steady steps towards her. Stopping at the counter, he stared at her, lazily blinking his eyes. She was bent In such a funny posture, inhaling the aroma of the coffee. Taking the cup of coffee, he took a sip.Feeling something was wrong, Hazel opened her eyes only to see the tall figure standing in front of her, drinking from a cup. Shocked, she lost her balance, falling on her butt."Ouch! she cried without tears, rubbing her behind. Suddenly it hit her... her eyes darted back and forth between the cup in his hands and the counter."Ah! that's my coffee! she yelled, getting up from the floor.Damien coolly turned to stare at her before continuing to sip from the cup, seemingly not bothered at all"give it back! She yelled stretching out her hand."Oh, but I already drank from it " Damien said, his lashes fluttering as he stared at her innocently."so what if you drank from it! Hmph! she said, snatching the cup from him and taking a sip.Damien froze and he watched her take sip after sip, occasionally licking her lips. She was so engrossed in the drink she didn't realize the figure staring at her. She looked up to see him staring at her with an unfathomable expression."what?! I'm not allowed to enjoy a cup of coffee anymore? she askedbut he didn't reply, he just took a bottle of water from the fridge and walked away.Rolling her eyes, she went washed the cup.Soon, it was dinner time. Damien and Hazel ate in silence, and only the clink and clank of their utensils cold be heard. Hazel would steal glances at Damien from time to time. She hadn't thought about what happened in the kitchen until she was in her room earlier. She had shamelessly drank from the same cup as Damien. It was so embarrassing now that she thought about it. Her face was beet red with embarrassment as she stole glances at him."do you enjoy staring at me so much? Damien asked, not looking up from his plate. he continued eating."Wah?He looked up from his plate, staring seriously at her, then he repeated"I said, do you enjoy staring at me so much? you've been staring at me since we started eating"Hazel Froze, she was dumbstruck. Not because he caught her, but because he had surprisingly said so much words than normal. Holy Crap! He actually said so much. Though it wasn't counted as speaking so much normally, but it did count when it came to Damien since he only replies one word to everything you say.She chuckled unconsciously at the thought. She was lost in her thoughts she didn't realize he'd been staring intently at her. What was funny? he thought.Dabbing his mouth with the napkin that laid on his lap, he stood up and left, leaving Hazel alone, smiling to herself. She soon came back to her senses only to find Damien gone. Her head darted around, looking for him, but he was already gone. She just shrugged and continued eating, stuffing her mouth with everything on the table. it was so delicious. She ate a lot this time because she was alone.Finishing the whole food, she slumped on the chair, patting her belly as she groaned. She headed to her room to change... maybe she would feel better in some loose clothes. But after minutes, her tummy was still not okay, so she decided to take a walk. Getting out of her room, she walked slowly across the narrow hallway.Just as she was passing, she noticed one of the doors was slightly open. The door creaked as she slowly pushed it open. She walked in and closed the door behind her. It was just an empty, dusty room...it looked like it had not been cleaned for a while now. There was only a grand piano sitting at the side of the room with a chair along with it. walking towards it, her fingers lazily struck the keys, making music. She smiled. Deciding to play something, she wiped the chair and the piano with her white colored handkerchief. She just felt this pain in her heart that she wanted to let out. Striking some keys, she played the chords of a song that was buried deep in her heart as she sang along."I can still remember yesterday ...we were in love in a special way...And knowing that you loved me made me feel, oh, so right...But now I feel lost...I don't know what to do...Each and every day, I think of you...Holding back the tears...I'm trying with all my might...Because I know I'll leave you...Standing all alone...And I know I've got to face the truth...But baby before I go...I want to say I love you...Hope that you're listening...Cos it's true baby...you'll be forever in my heart... "Her thin fingers danced across the piano, hitting the keys as she sang the last melody. A tear ran down her cheek. She didn't know why, but she felt like the words matched what she was feeling...what was this feeling?Standing up, she felt better. She headed for her room where she read a book until she fell asleep.*Damien's POV*I stared at her sitting on that chair. She looked angelic. Her skin seemed to be glowing and her hair was let loose, long and silky. I felt pain in my heart as I listened to the song she was playing. Those were words I never wanted to hear, but she had reminded me. My heart ached more as I listened to her. Her brain might have forgotten, but her heart didn't. Feeling the heaviness in my chest, I wanted to shout out loud, but I couldn't... I just wanted to get far away from her.*Narrator's pov*Damien closed the door behind him as he walked away, the music fading away.He sat in his study room with a glass in his hand. He looked pale. His eyes looked swollen from crying, and his lips were red from the wine he had been drinking. He twirled the glass in his hand indifferently as he stared into space. The knock on the door pierced through his ears, snapping him out of his thoughts."come in" he said, his eyes resting on the glass in his hand.A man came in just as the door creaked open. He seemed to be in his mid twenties, just like Damien. You could pass them off as age mates. While Damien had jet black hair, his hair was blonde, and his skin was paler than Damien's.He was dressed in a white long sleeves T-shirt and black pants... Something Damien wouldn't wear. Damien was an all black person."Sir" Lucas called out, bowing his head"Speak" Damien replied, twirling the glass in his hand indifferently as he stared at it"They're currently keeping an eye for any movement, Sir""Do they have a lead on where she is yet?"No, Sir... but they know she's still alive""Make sure they don't find out anything else" Damien said, placing the empty glass on the table, giving off a deadly aura. He would not let them find out."Yes, Sir" Lucas said before turning to leave.
Somewhere in B city...A man sat on a chair, his work table resting in the space in front of him, stack of papers heaped on it. He was in deep thought, staring intently at the papers in front of him. He was dressed formally in a black suit, and a red tie that hung from his neck. His hair was blonde, and he had blue eyes. His brows furrowed as he looked at the papers in front of him.Looking up, he stared at the lady across the table. She was dressed in a black fitted dress. Her auburn hair was let loose, falling on to her back. Her skin was pale and her lips were dabbed with red lipstick. Her Emerald green eyes stared at the man sitting across her."That's it? I asked you to find out everything about that day and you giving me this? He said, irritatedly tossing the papers to the floor."One job and you could not even do it right" he added, massaging the space between his brows."They blocked out every piece of information, Sir. I need more time" She replied, her voice laced with fru
The sunlight peeked through the window, hitting her perfect skin. The day had dawned, bringing it with new hopes and aspirations. Her lashes fluttered open slowly. Her eyes suddenly went wide in realization, she had slept off last night. She had been worriedly waiting for Damien to come back last night, reading a book in the living room. But how did she get to her room? She scratched her head feeling confused, then finally shrugging it off and going to freshen up. She had gotten used to the house these passed few days. It wasn't all that bad living in the gray mansion, but she still couldn't remember Damien being her husband.Sinking herself into the water, she enjoyed the feeling. It smelled of lavender. Closing her eyes, she leaned back on the tub. ****"I love you" He said, clutching her hands to his chest tightly"I love you so much, Ariel. Please stay with me" He continued, a tear running down his cheek"I'm so... sorry" She choked out, she was running out of breath"I'm sorry I
Dropping all the work, Damien stood up, walking out of the office. He was impatient, he just wanted to see her already. Heading toward the exit, his steps were fast paced. No employee dared to stand in his way, they thought the boss might be in a bad mood. What was wrong this time, they all thought. Pulling the car door open, he got in, resting in the back seat. "Drive" he ordered the chauffeur, his eyes cold Not daring to defy his boss, Adrien drove to the gray mansion, scared to his wits by his boss' demeanor. Getting to the gray mansion, Damien hastily got out if the car, heading inside. "Sir" the maids bowed as they saw him come in. His cold gaze rested on one of the maids. Bowing her head, she stared at the floor praying in her heart to be spared, their sir looked really...cold, he always did. They thought it'd be different if madam woke up, but he was still the same. "Where's your young madam? Damien's deep voice rang throughout the room, scaring the maid. " She...she w
The sunlight peeked through the space between the curtains, casting thin rays onto her face. She stared on the bed as she rubbed her bleary eyes, groaning. Opening her eyes, she stared up at the white ceiling, recollecting the event that happened yesterday. Putting the thoughts aside, she took a bath and got dressed in a black oversized long sleeve t-shirts and black cargo pants. She tied her hair up into a messy bun and headed to the ground floor where she sat on the table waiting for breakfast to be served. Soon, breakfast was served, and Damien was nowhere to be found. He must have went to work by now, she thought. Picking up the utensils, Hazel began to eat . She wondered what she could do for him...a mere thank you was definitely not enough. Racking her brain for ideas, she decided to cook for him. He would've gotten hungry by lunch time. She would ask Arman to take her to the Gray industries. Finally done eating, she dabbed her mouth with a napkin and headed for the kitchen w
Somewhere in City M..."How could you do this to me? A lady asked, her eyes brimming with tears as she stared at her supposed boyfriend. He was sitting beside some other girl in a high class restaurant, their hands intertwined together." I didn't do anything to you, Kamil" He said snorting"I thought you were such a smart girl, but it turns out I was wrong. I thought you would have gotten the hint that I was tired of you, I was tired of us" He continued, without a hint of remorse"I never loved you, Kamil" He finally said, staring seriously at her. Those words rang over and over in her head. She was trying not to cry, it hurt so much. How could he throw everything they had away. Did it all mean nothing to him?Clutching her purse tightly, she walked out of the restaurant feeling like her whole world crumbled. She thought they'd be together, spend the rest of their lives together. At first she had put up barriers to protect her heart, she wanted to be careful... But then Xavier had b
Done with reading for the day, Hazel decided to take a stroll, skipping down the stairs happily like she had won a lottery. Staring down at the phone in her hand, a smile found it's way to her face, She was happy she had a way to contact him now. Reaching the last step, She noticed Damien sitting beside the fireplace, staring intently at it, a glass of wine in his hands. Stopping in her tracks, she froze staring at him, before sneakily tiptoeing out of the house. "And where might you be going? Damien's deep voice pierced through her ears, halting her. Turning around, she smiled sheepishly at Damien who was staring at her, his brows raised questioningly. " I just wanted to take a stroll, yunno? She said, shrugging her shoulder indifferently He took steady steps towards her, all the while staring at her. Stopping few steps away from her, he said... "Why dont I take you out? " huh? Back in City M...The music from her phone reveberated throughout her room, cutting off her siesta. Her phone rang. She groaned as she tossed and turned on the couch, trying to get comfortable. Finally giving in to the disruption, her eyes fluttered open, feeling frustrated. Reaching out her hand, she picked up her phone which was laying carelessly on the floor. As soon as Lucas had dropped her off home, she felt really tired and her head hurt. She needed to get her mind off the hurt she felt, she decided to sleep it off. "Hello? She said weakly as she held the phone to her ear "Kamil...how have you been? You didn't even bother to visit I and your father" a feminine voice said sadly from the other end "I've only been busy, mother...that's all""There's a grand party taking place in the mansion tonight, your father's business has been progressing. Won't you come celebrate with us?" The woman from the other end said"Your father also wishes to see you...we've all missed you, Kamil"
The party had kicked off at the Kernon's mansion, Elites and business men gathered to celebrate the progress of the Kernon family. The hall was brightly decorated, and to part of it, food and drinks could be seen. There are were still people arriving at the banquet, most of Mrs kernon's elite friends competing for the spotlight. The media was also at the banquet, fishing for interesting news to deliver.Just as Mrs Kernon was talking to some of her friends, a Porsche had drove into the venue.People began murmuring, wondering who it could be.A lady could be seen stepping out of the car just as the door was opened by a bodyguard. Stepping out, her bright blue eyes scanned the place, seemingly looking for someone. Rushing towards her, the media were blocked from advancing any closer."Why did you decide to come to the banquet prepared by the Kernons?"Is it true that your company was supposed to secure the deal gotten by the Kernons, Miss Azule? Kamil had run off. She could not believe her father would marry her off like that.As she walked through the hallway, she had mistakenly bumped into someone really hard which sent her falling to the floor. “Dammit! Why do I always have to bump into people?” She cursed as she hissed in pain. Staring up, her eyes slowly widened as she saw who she had bumped into. “Lucas?” She called out, unable to believe her eyes. “What are you doing here?” She asked as she got off the floor, dusting the imaginary dirt that had latched onto her dress. Suddenly realized something, she pulled him forward using one of his arm, and twisting his second arm painfully. “Owwww.” Lucas yelled as he tried to get away from her.“What did I do?!” Lucas yelled as he continued struggling. But in the next second, he could feel his bones making a cracking sound. How was she so strong?“Take me away from this place.” She said, her voice coming out hoarse. She knew she had to do this. Or else her father would not l
