#Chapter229Lila's POVI was in trouble. My dad was about to blow his top. He had a deep grimace on his face. I could practically see the steam coming from his ears. He was leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed over his chest. No matter what I say, he isn't going to listen because I was in the wrong.Although it all worked out, it could have gone an entirely different way than I wouldn't be sitting here right now like a reprimanded pup."Dad... Before you say anything, can I tell you why I did it?" I murmured. He groaned dramatically and shook his head. "I'm not happy about what you did. Actually, I'm beyond angry." He fumed. I zoned out, no longer listening to his rant, and concentrated on the family portrait hanging behind him."I'm sorry I didn't listen... that I disappointed you," I mumbled, feeling my eyes tear up.I hated knowing I'd disappointed my parents. He chuckled as he rose before coming over to me. He crouched down in front of me, taking hold of my hands.
#Chapter230Lila's POVI picked up the water bottle that was by my jacket. I twisted the cap off before gulping it down."As always, Lila, you bested me." David keened, sat on the floor, clutching the side of his head.I peered at him from the corner of my eyes with a sly smirk on my face. "You put up a good fight, nevertheless." I chortled.I picked up my jacket and tied it around my waist. After I had lunch with my mum, I needed to burn off some energy. I couldn't sit around and wait for Alarix to get home... Though, that's all I wanted to do.I observed in admiration at all the warriors. Pride bubbled in my chest. They had all come so far. I'd trained fifteen warriors so far... They were all excelling."You're an amazing trainer, Lila." He beamed at me."You are a great warrior... A quick learner." I countered with a smile. He grinned at me, then bowed with a smirk. I snickered, shaking my head. "There are some new wolves arriving today for the centre... will you be meeti
#Chapter231Elias' POV"What do you mean?" I gasped."I don't fucking think so." Levi snapped."Why not somewhere hot? Chamonix in France is freezing." Lila questioned."I don't understand." Alarix choked."Kids, listen to him." Alpha Leon sighed. We are all in the conference room for the meeting with the king. Levi and Lila are sat next to me, with Alarix seated next to Lila. The King, the seer and the witch are opposite us. The Alpha, Luna and Beta are sat at the head of the table."We need to get you out of here as soon as possible. There's an army assembling to take you down... They're coming." King Darius shot, glowering at us."It's not like we aren't ready for them," Levi growled. I placed my hand on his thigh and squeezed. "We've been training our entire life for this," I argued."Witches, wolves and vampires have joined together." Natalia sighed. "We are not equipped to fight against them... We don't have the numbers." She continued.I don't know about the vampire
#Chapter232Levi's POV"Is his offer paramount to your survival?" Dad asked, stepping towards Lila. She exhaled and shrugged. "Alarix is talking to him now." She explained."What did he offer?" I queried, leaning my chin on Elias's shoulder."Queen Lila has a nice sound to it, don't you think?" She lifted her brow and hooked her finger on her chin."He offered you the throne after implying you could take another mate?" I snorted.King or not, his morals are problematic. Bonds are sacred. It doesn't matter who is bonded together; all bonds are sacred. My bond with Elias is just as strong as if I was bonded with a wolf. Goddess forbid if he ever died, I would never take another mate... I couldn't. There is no way in hell Lila would. She shook her head, holding her hands in front of her. "That was all Natalia's solution. The King pointed out." She sighed.I glanced around realizing Natalia had vanished. "And of course, she's fled." I groaned."Lila, let's finish this discussi
#Chapter233Lila's POV"So King Darius is giving up the throne?" Mum asked as she sat beside me in dad's office.I nodded, slumping back against the sofa. "He didn't really say much about it," I muttered. All he said was: "Lila, Alarix, you have both proved you have what it takes to rule. I'm stepping down, and I want to pass the throne over to you both." I don't know the first thing about being a Queen. Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected this. There is no way this is the offer that Melanie was speaking about. King Darius doesn't know me. How would I be his first choice? After the fight, I really thought the king would have left, but he stayed and offered the throne. I don't know whether to be afraid or flattered. To say I was shocked with Alarix would be an understatement. For someone with little to no training, he was impressive. I don't know whether I'm more impressed by him going up against a king or a Dark Wolf. He matched Amari in everything, speed, strengt
#Chapter234Alarix's POVI panicked, grabbing Lila before she could reach them. If she attacks, she won't make it out alive... none of us will."What are you doing? Let me go!" She screamed, flailing around in my arms."What are you going to do? There's too many of them." I stressed."If I go down, I'll take Natalia or Lenora down with me... At least I'll die knowing they can't get to you." She exploded. I sucked in a breath and tightened my arms around her. It's like she has no concern for her own life."Lila, calm down. I'll let you go if you promise not to attack. We won't survive it if you do." I sighed through our link. She relaxed and leaned against me. She rested her cheek on mine and inhaled. "I'm sorry." She whispered. "I'm calm now." She added.I tangled my fingers through her hair, pulling her head back gently. "I need you alive, ok?" I declared, brushing my lips against hers gently before letting her stand on her own two feet.A yellow light faded around us. Elia
#Chapter235Alarix's POVAs soon as they slowly scattered into the forest. I exhaled deeply and wrapped my arms around Lila again, burying my face into her hair. I felt myself relax against her.Lila pulled away, smiling lovingly at me. She peered over at the three siblings before a dazzling smile appeared on her beautiful face."When my dad mentioned you were coming, I couldn't believe it!" She chirped as she laced her fingers through mine and tugged me towards them. "Also, Cayla, when did you transform into a Dark Wolf?" She probed."I'll explain later, but first, who is this?" She asked, glancing at me. She stalked towards me and drew a deep breath in before her eyes lit up, and she grinned at me."You've found him!" She gushed, waving her arms around.Lila giggled while her cheeks turned a light pink. She nodded her head excitedly as she leaned her head against my chest. "This is Alarix King... My mate." She introduced me. I could see the pure happiness in her eyes."I'm
#Chapter236Lila's POVI blinked a few times, trying to get my bearings. I don't remember falling asleep; actually, I don't even remember getting home. The last thing I remember is talking to my mum in the packhouse back garden. I must have fallen asleep, and Alarix brought me here instead of waking me up.I scanned the room, realizing I was in the packhouse. Alarix was sleeping beside me. He was laid on his front, with one hand under the pillow and his other draped over my waist.Even his sleep isn't peaceful. His eyebrows were furrowed, and he had a deep frown set on his face. I wish I could take all of his worries away. He doesn't deserve anything that's happened to him; none of us does. He deserves buckets full of happiness.I held my hand up slowly and gently traced my finger along the creases on his forehead. I leaned forward and brushed my lips against his. He was insanely gorgeous, and I still couldn't believe he was mine.I moved back, and my eyes wandered down his bac
