"I would like to join you to Snow," I said, and my father shook his head.

"We will be back in two days. I need you here to ensure those siblings do not create problems for us," he said. I didn't know what I would do, but I just nodded. Honestly, it would have been better if Grant or Abraham handled it. Khalid and Yusuf would have done excellently well, too. My mother then got up and excused herself, saying she would pack.

My father looked at me, touched my shoulder, and sighed.

"I am trusting you with this. Do not lose your head, Son," he said, and I nodded even though what I originally wanted to do was tell him that it was easy for him to say since it wasn't him that would have to torture his fated for the safety of the people, but I held my tongue. It was my cross to bear, and I hoped I wouldn’t fail. Deep down, I hoped there would be a third option, one that did not involve me making Laila fear me more than she already did.

I left my father's office and returned to my

AeronAfter the room cleared, I settled beside Jasmine, cradling her in bed. To my concern, I observed that her wound showed no signs of healing. Feeling helpless, I opted to lick the injured skin rather than sounding an alarm, hoping it might provide some relief. While tending to Jasmine, my emotions churned like mush within me. The profound shock of realising I could have lost her persisted. The haunting image of her motionless form, surrounded by inexplicable wounds on her neck, haunted my thoughts. Was there a way to prevent her from ever falling asleep again? Could I ensure she remained awake indefinitely, shielding her from any further harm inflicted by Stasia?"Solnishka," I said, holding her in bed. She snuggled close and let out a sob."Tell me. Tell me what you are feeling. Do not hold it in," I pleaded with her gently.Knowing that the dreams did not suddenly return and she had continued to have them but only hid them from everyone made me feel terrible.I felt utterly usele

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   53 Tell Me About Your Mistake

Aeron Leaving Jasmine with Ivory and Isabelle, Rukky and I left the room and the house. We headed towards the garden. We walked until we walked past the garden and headed towards the seashore."Tell me," I said, getting straight to the point, and Rukky looked at me with worry in her eyes."Know that I did everything for the greater good." She said with haunted eyes. There was no way what she was about to say was good, so I braced myself. "I hope you know why you were taken in Pictoria?" she asked, and I nodded."Stasia wanted all Ghost-eyed people to be sacrificed. She said it was to improve the land, but in actual sense, she was only trying to secure herself and ensure she succeeded in her plans. Whatever that may be. Trust me, Aeron. Her plans are separate from that of Mustapha. Too bad he is a fool for her." she said and chuckled a bit, but it wasn’t a happy chuckle. It was that of hopelessness."I witnessed my demise, Aeron," she revealed, and I furrowed my brow in response."My

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   54 You Scarred Me, Solnishka

Jasmine The shock of what happened in my sleep still lingered. Even though I was in the waking world now, I still felt like I had left a piece of me in that void where Stasia almost killed me, or I almost killed myself. Everything Rukky had said remained confusing, and I had never been so grateful to have Aeron in my bed as I did in those moments. If Aeron hadn't been with me, what would have happened to me if he had not gone to get Rukky? So even when Ivory held on to me, still weeping, I knew I had only been lucky. The bad part about luck was it was unpredictable. Who knows what side of luck I will be on next time? Breaking away from the hug, I fiddled with the weird necklace Rukky had placed around my neck, hoping it would work. If it was possible to never dream again, I would love it because I think I have had enough to last me a lifetime. Grandma Isabelle caressed my hair, her swollen eyes, the evidence of the tears of fear she had shed. "You should have told us about

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   55 The Ride To Blizzard

Jasmine It wasn't long before we were soon on our way to Blizzard. There were times I used to wonder why Snow did not have normal names for its territories like Forest and Hill. Instead, they had to have an icy affiliation. I know Hill and Forest had those; for example, Hill had places like Peakland and Hill Village, but they also had places like Graceland, Rendale, and so on. Forest had places like Woodland, Timber and Oakland, but they also had places like Riverdale and Riverhead. While some names were obvious, and you could easily place the kingdom they belonged to by hearing the names, others were enigmatic and elusive, and you had to know the map to figure out where they belonged. This couldn't be the same for Snow. In Snow, everything had to do with the weather: Iceland, Iceberg, Blizzard, Frost Village, Ice Ville, and so on. It always had to do with the frost of the place. The people were not so creative either. How they lived showed exactly why their towns had weird, unc

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   56 The Crash

Jasmine The impact struck the car with a violent force, the jolt sending shockwaves through my body. Time seemed to stretch and contract simultaneously as the car was violently flung to the side, like a leaf caught in a storm. The once serene ambience transformed into a cacophony of metal against metal, the screeching of tires against the unforgiving road, and the frantic blaring of a horn. I think Gaddafi's horn because we were the only ones on the road. Or maybe I was imagining the sounds. My body was thrust violently against Aeron, held captive by the invisible hands of an unknown force. Panic clawed at my chest, and the air grew thick with the acrid scent of burning rubber and fear. The world outside the car window became a dizzying blur, a chaotic dance of shadows and light. I could see the ground rushing towards us, the wheels losing contact with the pavement. The once solid reality twisted into a disorienting kaleidoscope of shapes and colours. As the car somersaulted throu

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   57 In The Chaos

Jasmine The ringing in my ear was yet to subside. I didn't know what to focus on. My sister remained lifeless on the floor, and I tried to reach out to feel for her pulse. Before I could reach over, I heard a loud growl. I turned, and something had knocked something out of the way. Razor had knocked a wolf that was coming for me. I then realised it wasn't a one-on-one fight. There were five Pictorian wolves. Did two more wolves join while I was trying to check Ivory out? The chaotic scene unfolded like a nightmare. The cold, damp air seemed to carry the stench of danger. My hands trembled as I pressed them against Ivory's neck, desperately searching for any sign of life. Panic set in as I felt nothing, but I couldn't afford to lose focus. Rukky's wolf stood tall between me and the advancing wolves. Her fur bristled, and her eyes were locked onto the predatory creatures surrounding us. The adrenaline coursing through my veins heightened my senses, and I could feel the wei

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   58 The Dream That Wasn't

Jasmine I strained once more against the unseen force, desperate to join the fight. The air crackled with a mix of fear and determination, but the growing number of enemy wolves threatened to overwhelm even Razor's exceptional prowess. It was a grim reality that unfolded before us, and the weight of it pressed down on my shoulders. As Razor fought on, the once defiant growls were now accompanied by the fatigue in his movements. The odds were against us, and with each passing moment, the encroaching darkness seemed to symbolise our impending defeat. The realisation sank in that, despite Razor's remarkable efforts, the enemy numbers were simply too great. I looked at Ivory and the wolves surrounding Razor, Rukky, and the motionless Gaddafi. Panic rose within me, and the feeling of helplessness engulfed me. I had given up trying to summon my wolf, but I couldn't give up on Ivory and Razor. I didn't know what came over me, but I found myself wishing for the very darkness that had eng

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   59 Not Prince Charming

Mathias I kept an eye on Laila, never looking away from her. After she showered, she returned to the room in her towel, waiting for the dress I had instructed the maids to bring. I could tell she was hiding something. She held the towel to her chest, afraid that I might see something. It was normal for women to be nervous around me, especially a suspect like her. I ignored her discomfort. When the maid brought the dress, I noticed Laila contemplating wearing it in my presence. I had seen a lot of girls naked, so there was really nothing to it. I stared at her, looking rather bored as she held the dress with bony fingers. Her hand was shaking. One thing was obvious: food was definitely limited where they were coming from. "Contemplating seducing me?" I asked, and her cheeks reddened with embarrassment. I guess she didn't have it in her after all. "I don't have all day. You need help wearing that, or are you just wasting my time for nothing?" I asked her, and she nodded. I

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   EPILOGUE

Five Years Later Aeron I sat in the midst of a garden of wildflowers in New Pictoria, a place that had once been a barren desert but now thrived and bloomed, thanks to the magical fire I possessed. The prophecy had unfolded, and my life had come full circle, bringing me to a point of perfect contentment. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting hues of orange and pink across the sky, my eyes traced the playful scene before me. My twins, Ellie and Adam, chased each other around with unbridled joy, their laughter echoing through the air. A fluffy little puppy named Maxwell, named in jest to tease my Beta Mansoor, joined the playful chaos. Jasmine, wearing a serene blue cotton gown, approached me and took a seat beside me on the grass. I couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the moment, a dream that I had once envisioned—albeit one that Stasia had invaded and tried to disrupt. Yet, here I was, surrounded by the laughter of my children and the warmth of Jasmine by my side. "

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   109 Keeping Promises

Jasmine The wedding day had finally come. Ironically speaking, my parents made sure it took place on the date we had originally selected. Even though I was pregnant, I wasn't showing yet, but I was excited. Since Aeron told me about the kings’ offers, I have been glad. It meant I wouldn't be too far from home. I was glad and nervous at the same time. My mother, sister, Zarah, Julia, and Margrette were with me while I prepared. Yes, you heard me right; Zarah, Margrette and I reconciled and decided to let bygones be bygones. It is great to have them as friends. Zarah wasn't as bossy or snobbish as she once was. In fact, she was the most fun person to have around. She was helping me with my make-up, something I suck at doing, and she was doing a good job. She told me she had always wanted a sister. I guess she got one now, and she would be an aunt soon. Aunty Rukky walked into the room with all smiles. Her twins were with her, and even though she looked a bit frail, I was glad she was

Nikolas I could not believe it was finally over. One month had passed, and we were still trying to fix the cities that were destroyed. Piotr and Miles remained in forest with their family while Jutros and Isbecs went to work on the cities under the supervision of our engineers. They were faster workers, so the building and cleaning were moving fast. We had a crazy encounter, one we would never forget, and we were glad we had come out unscathed. It took three weeks, but Rukky and Gabriel finally came through. It seemed my father-in-law planned to die on his own terms. There was none as relieved as Olsen himself. Apparently, the bleak future Rukky had seen was her coma. When I think of it, I want to laugh. King Mustapha had come with his citizens and left them in the vessels in Iceberg and Hill village; among the people were Mansoor's mother and sister. Of course, Stasia would bring them since she knew Laila and Mansoor were here already. Mansoor had taken his sister from their mother

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons    107 Some Respite

Aeron Leaving the women behind, I carried Jasmine in my arms. I wasn't ready to deal with anything until I eased the tension within, assured myself and my wolf that she was okay, and she was finally here with me. The war is over, and there is no looming threat anymore. That she is my Queen, and I am hers for the rest of my life. I took her to my tent. A tent I hadn't slept in since it was erected, and placed her on the mattress. She turned to look at me, but I had run out of patience. Tearing through her clothes, I leaned over her, kissing and placed my finger in her cunt. I finger fucked her brutally, doing to her what my cock was about to do inside her while I kissed her. I wanted to swallow her and maybe take her breath. “Don‘t ever pull that kind of stunt again, Solnishka. Going off on an adventure without telling me," I said, releasing my cock by taking off my shorts. I spread her legs apart. Her heart was beating fast. I should be gentle, but I couldn’t. All my emotions were

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   106 Time Up

Aeron Stasia turned around to look at me and smiled as if she had been waiting for me. She did not look as old as she did last night. Maybe it was the trick of the darkness. She looked young. Did this woman ever age? "On time," She said and smiled at then eyed Mathias. "Interesting, there are indeed handsome men on this continent," looking at Mathias flirtatiously. "I don't do old women," Mathias said, and she giggled. "Trust me, you wouldn’t want to let go once you get a taste, but too bad I am not here for you; I am here for my king," she said and looked at me. "See, we can be together now that both obstacles are out of the way. Dark dream walker and the mad king. We can be together and use your fire to rebuild our continent," she said, walking seductively towards me. I would lie that she did not look good, but all I could see in my mind’s eyes was a grandma in sheer clothing. Not a sight to see. "Release my mate, and I will let you live. As you know now, your army belongs to

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   105 A True King

Aeron Following Ivory's completion of the markings for all of us, I approached the Jutro to share my plan. They had received thorough medical care and nourishing food, and the majority of them were now fully healed. As they noticed my presence, they greeted me with enthusiasm, but my sombre expression quickly dampened their smiles. "Stasia has ensnared my mate in a dream state, and I am compelled to venture forth to rescue her. In doing so, we will inevitably clash with the Isbecs, and I understand that some of us may not return from this battle. I realise it's a lot to ask. You may not know me or my intentions, but I assure you, my motives are not malicious. The Isbecs have ravaged our homes, murdered our kings, slaughtered and enslaved our people, abducted our children, and obliterated countless futures, all in pursuit of what was never rightfully theirs. It's time to rid our world of the menace that is Stasia and her fire-wielding, mad King, Mustapha. It's time to reclaim our fre

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   104 Won't Wait Any Longer

Aeron We were sitting by the fire in the morning, drinking tea, when Ivory approached us in tears. I knew then that something had happened. Mansoor tried to calm her down to make her speak, and she tried to compose herself. She was shaken with horror, and since I hadn't seen Jasmine with her, panic grew in me. "Where is my mate?" I asked, unable to control myself. Queen Aliana stood up, and King Nikolas did the same; they were tired, having stayed awake after the fight. "She won't wake up. She is trapped, and I can't get in. Stasia created a barrier," Ivory said, and we all abandoned what we were doing and headed toward the tent where Jasmine was. My heart was thumping in my chest all the while. I had suspected Jasmine was up to something when I returned and was told she was training with Ivory. It seemed plausible, but it felt odd; I should have checked on them, and I wanted to, but Queen Aliana stopped me. I should have insisted or snuck into the tent. I cursed within me. This w

JasmineI sat on the bare ground because I knew I needed to connect with the earth to pull on the Power of the Dark in Aquillonia. Every time I have been able to pull on the Power of the Dark effectively, I have been in direct contact with the earth, either grass or sand. Pushing the mattress to the side, I lay down on the sand and wielded myself to sleep. Everything was dark, and soon I was back in the tent, but I knew I was in a dream state. This was my dream. I could not visit the dreams of Stasia’s army individually. I need to drag their soul into my dream to eliminate them, and I need to do so before I go for the King. Gathering my strength, I began to move. I could feel Ivory's presence, but I couldn’t see her; it was as if she was in me, and we were one and the same. She was experiencing my dream, but I was the one in control. How was she doing it? I couldn’t tell, but I forged ahead.I was barefoot. I could feel the sand against the soles of my feet and the breeze against my

  • Dark Obsession: Taming His Demons   102 What To Do About Them

Jasmine My body recovered faster than I anticipated. It seemed I had powers beyond my comprehension, but there was an empty void in me. The sense of dread, loss and anguish lingered in my head. I couldn't quite shake off what happened at the gate. Rukky being stabbed by the witch. I couldn't stop blaming myself. If only I have moved fast. Gathered the momentum faster. Not allowing the poison to get the best of me, move as I should, act as I should, then she would be alive and well. I wasn't a fool. She had told me once that her future was bleak, and now I understood why. It was Stasia and me that undid her. A powerful woman who believed in fate and strived to bring out the goodness in the world had lost her life trying to save me. I could not forgive myself. So when I sat up on the mattress in the tent, I buried my face in my palm and wept. My hands were shaking. Rage and despair, a mixture unknown to me, became the only emotions I could feel simultaneously. "Jasmine," I heard the
