Dark Matter - Episode 4

May after the incident in the woods with Jason was feeling very scared and could only think of going home.

*Jason has been possessed how long will it take before we all will be possessed * she thought to herself as she walked into the school camp like a poisoned rat.

*I know what to do, I'll tell the school management... But they will probably think am crazy but I have to try * She thought feeling very sad for Jason

*if only I did not dare him to check out the sand he would have been normal* she thought to herself before staggering to the management office. Some student laughed at her movement oblivious to what she witnessed.

"Hello there! How may we help you" the principal said when the disoriented May entered the office without proper permission

"Jason..." breathing hard

"What's wrong with Jason," the director asked

"Yesterday as we were hiking in the woods we came across... then hands from the earth started grabbing him we had to run away for our lives... Then this evening I found him... then scares appeared on his face and he asked me to run" she stopped to take a breath wondering how they will react.

Silence befalls the office and no one said a word for a few minutes before they burst into laughter

"Umm May do you need to see the school nurse you could talk to her about your hallucinations" the vice-principal suggested controlling his laughter

"I am not going crazy" May muttered "why don't you check his room then"

"Alright to be sure we will investigate his room" they all agreed.

Jason was as anxious as ever strolling in the woods in deep thought. He was wondering what Dark Matter would do next when suddenly, Mike pushed him to a tree

"Hey jerk" Mike sneered. He fails notice the calmness in him and more importantly the fading tree he was leaning on.

"What's your problem now?” Jason asks

**Is this boy an idiot why would he want to do this at this crucial moment** he thought, while trying so hard to stop Dark Matter from taking over his body that his head veins swelled and hot sweat faded from his skin.

"I saw you with my babe just now. Looks like you've not learned your lesson dead meat"

"Let me be Mike, Run! run back! You may die here" Jason beckoned as his eyes started forming pitch black scars again.

Mike ignoring Jason's warnings landed several blows on Jason's face and Dark Matter was getting infuriated at Mike's actions on his host's body.

"What in hell ... " Mike exclaimed when black scares appeared on his face trying to punch him again Jason held his hand and overpowered him.

Dark Matter being in control of Jason brought the scared Mike's hand down

"What the hell are you" Mike exclaimed managing to escape from Dark Matter's grip as he attempts to escape

"Hel..."  a hand that was not Jason's gripped his throat

*STOP STOP DON'T KILL HIM* Jason screamed but Dark Matter didn't pay any attention

May was too scared to follow the Principal and his vice to Jason's room but after much convincing, she agreed. As soon as they opened his door May shrieked like a frightened cat and ran behind them but it was nothing but the sound of the wind from Jason's opened window

"There's nothing suspicious here," the principal said

"But... but...what about the black dust on the  floor"

"That could be just sand from his shoes, you need to rest is getting late" The vice-principal suggested "thanks for wasting our time" they both left May there to attend to their offices.

May took another glance at his room and didn't notice any other suspicious thing she then sighed and went to her room.

She pondered over the events that had occurred and the talk they had while strolling when she got to her room

*I dunno what happened I just woke up the next morning*

*whoa you didn't remember anything at all after the gripping hands !?*

*No nothing*

May noticed how dusty Jason clothes were the same dust that littered the floor of his room *something is going wrong around here* she thought sighing she pushed the thoughts away and remembered the huge cracked hole under her bed. She then raised the bed In annoyance and frustration but gasped and moved back quickly when her eyes caught the occurrence below her.

"Sand...black Sand in my room too" she stared in horror at the moving sand in the hole as if in a semi-circular pattern.

"What's going on here" she managed to say picking up a hammer she broke a crack into another wall and was shocked to the bones when she saw more moving sand. It was as if the sand was travelling through the walls.

As if good fortune befell on Mike a lumberjack shouted in terror at the sight of a semi-dark figure of a teenage boy with his hand outstretched about a foot away from a hand out of the ground strangling a poor boy.

"What the hell !!" The man exclaimed, his eyes wide open in fear as he moved back slowly, hot sweat dripping like rain from his cheeks.

Distracted Dark Matter left Mike and focused his attention on the now running man. Taking a few steps forward many series of dusks shoot out from the ground with one dusk grabbing hold of the poor man's heart giving him little time to shriek. It pushed his heart out of him before fading it away. The poor man laid there lifeless, with his blood fading from the gaping hole where his heart once was. Dark matter dust cloud filled the air and disappeared slowly as Jason took control of his body

"No ! " Jason exclaimed wanting to feel emotional but could not nor could tears flow from his eyes

"What have you done ...I'm doomed" ...

"Hey, Stacey !!" Liam called stopping her from entering the females' lounge

"Ye..yeah" she stammered not believing that he actually called her.

"Ugh... have you seen May recently she is not with the rest of the class, our teacher is about to start the night's horror story"

"Oh yeah, we were together before she went with Jason," she said shyly with her hands together.

"With... who ?"

"Jason !"

He looked shocked for a while before controlling himself

"Oh... okay thanks"

"Alright... you can talk to me anytime" she replied awkwardly.

"Right, don't be late for the story," he said running towards the bonfire where the rest of his class were heading.

"Okay ! " she shouted "he just talked to me" she kept telling herself while hopping towards her room joyfully.

May couldn't tear her eyes off the eerie phenomenon occurring to her very face. Afraid to touch it with her hands she reached out and touched it with the hammer and it faded into thin air luckily, she dropped it before it reached her hand.

She sat down on a chair hanging her legs too afraid to touch the floor

*Does this mean the black sand is traveling around the school? But why? It must be part of demons possessing everybody here and no one will ever believe me again even if I try to show them. I gotta save myself and Mike, MIKE !!* She thought to herself believing that they especially Mike are in grave danger

*of all people on earth u chose Mike* she remembered

*if he is so unhappy that I'm dating Mike then... *she gasped *Oh no I hope he won't* she thought using her shaking hands to pull out her phone from her pocket quivering she dialed Mike's number but the network was terrible there in the woods but she kept on trying hoping she is not too late.

"Hey May !!" Stacey called knocking on the door "Night story is starting don't be late" she said running outside before May could open the door

Jason sat on the ground in deep thought though he didn't feel anything for the man he just killed, but he never wanted to be a murderer and now he was

alarmed of how dangerous Dark Matter can become.

"Two of your Acquaintances now know about me..." Dark Matter said

"NO !!" Jason interrupted "you are not harming May, Mike will be going to the hospital and I'll be in trouble if he mentions me"

"So... where is the closest hospital" Dark Matter replied

"On the west side of the camp"

"He hasn't approached the camp yet"

*How does he know* Jason thought to himself also wondering if Dark Matter could hear him. Dust collected again as Dark Matter took control of his body racing towards poor Mike. Jumping from tree to tree with dusks catching and breaking his fall before and after each tree fades away. Jason enjoys every moment of it because he felt like he was spiderman with no webs but instead with dusks fading every tree it touches. Now approaching Mike Dark Matter jumped down from a tree and caused huge dusk to hold Mike's body.

Dust collects and Mike was shaking in fear for his dear life. His wounds were already fading before and now the dusk made it worse

"Jason pls am sorry for all__the trouble _I_ caused you, "Mike said with all the strength he could muster". Dark Matter made the dusk turn him around to see his skin peeling and fading from his face along with his neck region where the dusk has previously held him

"how so weak you humans are"

"Wha...what are you saying? Please _I promise _I __wo..n't tell pl_ease" Jason was trying his best to control Dark Matter but he was determined in finishing him off in a slow painful death to examine just how weak the human body was. Mike's phone started ringing so Mike forced his hand into his pockets to answer it for it was May that was calling

"He_he...llo" he stammered barely feeling his heartbeat

"Mike! Mike! Baby, I'm so glad you're okay. Listen Jason he has changed and he's changed and he's coming after you his..." Dark Matter caused another dusk to squeeze the phone to ashes and then raised Mike to finish him off, no matter the amount of resistance from Jason. But then, what seemed like a blinding blue lightning bolt struck them. Surprised, Dark Matter could barely react when an ear-splitting supersonic boom accompanied the light. The sound from what seemed to be thunder could not be compared to any thunder Jason had ever heard. Crawling Jason could almost feel his heartbeat as he groaned on the floor in great agony.

"MIKE! " May called just before the blue lighting bolt struck within the forest.

" Argh!" She exclaimed covering her ears with her hands, as the ear-splitting boom shook the foundations of the camp.

Panicking as soon as she could regain her composure she dashed to the management office again.

"May! Didn't you hear that? You should be in your room in case a thunderstorm is coming. " The Principal said in annoyance as May barged in.

"It Jason, Mike is in danger " she cried

"we've already gone over this, haven't you seen the school's nurse yet ?" The Vice muttered

"but..."

"May! I'm sure you're not ok. It's dangerous to be outside now. Go back to your room." the director said taking off her glasses

"I don't want him to die, I can't, I won't, I JUST WON'T " she kept screaming at the top of her voice showing the urgency of her situation

" Are you saying that Mike is still in the forest?"

" Maybe!... I ... I don't know. But something is wrong with Jason. I have proof in my room."

" Alright! I'll go, but this will be the last time you will bang into this office again " the principal concluded, getting up.

"Not just you, we need the police"

"don't worry we'll call them if need be," he said, helping her off the floor.

By dusk Jason opened his eyes as the dark matter formed hands which entered his body as it did before, bringing him back to consciousness.

Trying to stand up Jason wondered what just struck him.

*Was it lightning* he thought *lightning comes from the sky it must be something else... that...that came eastwards and where's Mike" Jason asked looking dazed and confused

"he doesn't seem to be close" Dark Matter responded.

"What should we do now?"

"your brain needs rest, we will deal with them tomorrow. You, humans, don't see well in dark"

"alright but "WE" are not harming May"

Clouds of dust collect as Jason jumps back to his room through the window.

...

The principal and May enters her room and switched the lights on.

"see! I told you there was something wrong and you didn't believe me now there..." May blurted blurting out.

"there's nothing to see here May, " the principal said in annoyance.

"the wall..." May's eyes suddenly grew wide "there was black dust i_i_in the wall and...and Mike's phone ".

The Principal burst out of her room in annoyance while she raises her bed and found the crack but there was no sand

May was shocked by the bones. Did the sands somehow know about her plans and disappeared. She would've set out to look for Mike but couldn't because it was getting darker, so she set up a hammock since she was too scared to sleep on her bed she set up a hammock and dragged her worried self to sleep...

"Is everyone here !?" Miss Claire, the camp's form mistress asked.

"Yes, ma !" The class answered being too expectant of the story to risk delay from absent students. Liam wondered why neither May nor Jason nor Mike was here, but he decided to enjoy the story first for they might have fallen asleep.

"I'm here, sorry for being late Miss Claire" Mr. Matt apologized

"Alright, pay attention to what I'm about to tell you," she said with a very serious drama-rich voice that instantly silenced them.

**"for the tale I'm about to tell you is as true as the wind itself"**...(To be continued in the next chapter)...

Deep into the night, May woke up by a sudden whooshing noise so, she took her touch light and pointed it in the direction of the crack but didn't see anything so she got up and put her torchlight inside the crack to see if it was an animal but the flashlight faded instantly she gasped realizing that the moving sand is back and somehow knew that she was alone in the room. Forgetting that her bed was still raised she stepped back twice and stumbled, falling to the ground...
