By around 4:00 am the next morning, Emma was forced awake by hunger. Her tummy grumbled so much that she could no longer fall back asleep. Sitting up she clinched to herself tightly in anguish but then she remembers the remaining cookies Stephanie left for the next evening. She couldn't wait any longer as she dragged herself to the door and searched for the cookies. Finding it after some minutes, she counts the remaining ones and they were only five.
