Author’s POV"The laws of the pack are divine and so, they must be followed accordingly. However it seems you are trying to avoid it Alpha Ray" Everyone stopped and when Ivory looked to where the voice came from, she was surprised to see an old man with a stick in his hand, staring at them. He had a long beard with a threatning mouthstache."Lord Mastiff, your words are wisdom and being the oldest member of the pack, everyone respect you and today, I stand to say that never would I cunningly shield the law and not let it take full force. Which is why, the law stating that a Luna must pass the endurance test, would be followed" Ivory was confused as to what Ray met. Neither had anyone told her of any test and Ray, who was proclaiming to know the law had also kept her in the shadows."The endurance test would take place by dusk. But for the purpose of the young generation, who haven't witnessed the test, I would like to explain what the test is all about...." Ray turned around to lo
Author’s POV Ray looked to Lord Mastiff and the latter nodded his head as a sign for him to proceed with the whipping. Ivory heard his footsteps and all she could do at that moment, was suck in her breath, while she waited for the impact of the whip. The clouds were beginning to form and the heavy down pour was being anticipated by every member of the pack. Ivory waited for the impact of the whip and the moment the strip came in contact with her body, lightning struck. She held on to the texture of the sand as the whip tore through her bare back. She could only imagine what her body looked like, as the whip kept on tearing every part of her flesh.Ivory didn't make a single noise, only her body was reacting to the beating, which was a normal occurrence for anyone. Ray was in his fiftieth lash and all he could hope for at that moment, was for Ivory to be able to go through the pain. He didn't know how he became this monster, how he wasn't able to feel any emotions while beating her.
ANDREW POVI opened my eyes, the sunlight streaming in through the canopy of trees above me. I was lying on the soft grass, and for a moment, I couldn't remember how I had gotten here. But then, it all came rushing back to me. The wolves, the fight, the pain. I closed my eyes again, trying to shut out the memories. But I couldn't. They were there, playing over and over in my mind. And then, I heard a voice."Welcome back," the voice said, and I recognized it as belonging to the Alpha. I opened my eyes and saw him standing over me. "You're safe now," he said. "But you have to rest. You took quite a beating." I looked down at myself, and saw that I was covered in bandages. "How... how long have I been here?" I asked. The Alpha smiled. "You've been unconscious for three days," he said. "You're lucky to be alive."I tried to sit up, but the Alpha put a hand on my shoulder. "Easy," he said. "You need to take it slow. You're still healing." I nodded, and lay back down. The Alpha sat down nex
Daphne's POVI heard a beep which only a monitor would make and I felt an heavy weight lifted from me, from the darkness that clouded my entire being a ray of light flahsed across and then suddenly pierced the darkness and made it dissipate immediately. My eyes fluttered up and I shut them at once as the amount of light that entered my eyes threatened to blind me."She's awake!" I heard a feminine voice declare."Are you sure?" A masculine voice asked."Of course, I saw her eyes open just now!" The feminine voice replied.I groaned as a sharp pain pierced through my head, my eyes finally opened as my retina adjusted to the intensity of the light. My throat felt parched and unopened my mouth to speak."Where am I?" I asked as I turned my head to the opposite direction.I saw a life monitor which beeped continuously, the room was all white and.teo people stood by the bedside, a smell hit my nostrils which make me realize that it wasn't just a room, I saw a tray by the bedside with injec
DAPHINE POVI looked around the room, taking in the shocked expressions on everyone's faces. My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to process what was happening. I couldn't believe my eyes - here were the triplets, standing in the room with another woman. A woman who was clearly important to them, judging by the way they were looking at her. I hated the fact that they had realized her importance because she had a child.I felt my breath catch in my throat as I realized what this meant. They might moved on, because they found someone else. Someone who wasn't me. My heart felt like it was being ripped to shreds, and I fought to keep my composure. I kept my face neutral, not wanting to give them the satisfaction of seeing how much this was affecting me. I felt like I was going to break, but I couldn't let them know that. I had to be strong, even though it was the hardest thing I'd ever done. I took a deep breath and finally spoke, my voice sounding colder than I'd intended. "So, t
EMILY POVI smiled to myself as I watched the triplets leave, knowing that my plan was working perfectly. My daughter was their heir, and that meant that I would be made Luna. Everything was falling into place. But then, I saw Ivory watching me, and I felt a shiver of fear run down my spine. She knew what I was doing, I could see it in her eyes. But I would not be deterred. I would become Luna, no matter what it took.I sank down onto my bed, and closed my eyes. The guilt was still there, a nagging feeling in the back of my mind. But I tried to push it away.I had to focus on the future, on what was to come. I had to be prepared for anything. And as I lay there, I knew that I had to start thinking about my next move.I had to make sure that everything was in place, so that I could be ready when the time came.So that I could win. So that I could finally be happy. And as I thought about what I needed to do, I started to feel a spark of hope. Maybe I could do this. Maybe I could actuall
Daphne's POVI waited for an answer but was vexed when I got none, what exactly was happening here? I couldn't wrap my hands around the fact that they were hiding something huge from me, what exactly was it that they couldn't say a word at all? My heart kept pounding against its ribcage as different thoughts swarmed my head but I shook it off, not wanting to bother about them. An answer was all I wanted."Come here" Rex wrapped a hand around my shoulders, forcing me to take a seat, I did as he wanted while waiting for answers. My eyes ran through my mates and I swallowed when I noticed they couldn't even meet my gaze, was what they have done so bad?"We are going to let you in on something, although we never saw it as necessary, we guess you should know about how all of this started" I nodded, before placing the phone down, handing it back to Rory whose gaze was sympathetic."Go on" I leaned backward, waiting for them to say what they intended to say." Emily" Rex bit into his lips be
2 years EarlierEmily POVPacing back and forth, my heart beating in a repetitive manner, I thought through several ways in which I would serve my punishment in the hands of the Alpha. The festival was over and it hurts that I never got to say the prayers I so desired to make after taking so much risk. I had seen the same figure on the path way to the arena, pointing in my direction to the Alpha and i couldn't help but mutter curses. He was the reason I would be punished and thought of the previous beating had my legs shaking."Emily! The Alpha orders for your presence." Dave announced with a smile on his face. Right before I stepped into the chambers, I rolled my eyes at him. He was infuriating and I could only wish I was strong to give him a piece of my hand.Stepping into the chambers, my eyes went directly to the throne, where Alpha Damien was seated gracefully on the throne, alongside the same man from the arena. I wondered what they had discussed."Alpha." I lowered my head, wai
