"And if given this opportunity, I promise to propel this company to global dominance and make it the best in the world," she declared, her eyes sparkling like diamonds, radiating pure joy and unwavering ambition as she sat up straight.
Her hair was styled in a sleek high ponytail, and her vibrant red dress perfectly accentuated her flawless skin.
The man looked up at her, and a smug smile spread across his face. "How about you make my d*** go global?" he said, letting out a booming laugh that echoed through the room.
“Huh,” she mumbled, taken aback as she tried to process the unexpected remark.
"Don’t tell me you don’t know what I meant,PRETTY GIRL!" he continued with a smirk as he stood up, brushing off the crudeness with a casual wave of his hand. "Just a joke, by the way," he added as he moved behind her, his presence lingering a little too close.
"I know you just rehearsed this... that’s what you young girls do these days," he said in a mocking tone.
"You come in here, rattling off speeches like there’s a battery inside you," he chuckled, then strolled to sit on the desk beside her.
"Your name again?" he asked, but before she could respond, he picked up the file in front of him, his eyes scanning it quickly. "Kristen Roses," he repeated softly, his voice almost a whisper, as if testing how the name felt on his lips. "What a sweet name," he murmured, leaning in closer, his breath warm against her skin. "I hope it’s not just the name that’s sweet."
"Excuse me," Kristen said loudly as she stood up quickly from her seat.
"Lol," the man chuckled as he walked away. "How would you get a job if you're this loud?" he said softly.
"I am sorry, Sir. I got carried away," Kristen replied immediately, bowing her head.
"Oh, you don’t have to beg me, Miss Rose. You just have to use what you want to get what you want....that’s all..."
"You want me to sleep with you so I can get the job? Is that what you mean?" Kristen shot back…
"Too local," he sneered, closing the distance between them with a sudden aggressive step. His hand reached out and yanked her so close that she could smell his cologne mixed with sweat. "Let’s get it done now, and I’ll make you a permanent staff member in less than an hour," he murmured, his breath warming against her skin.
Before his lips could travel any further, Kristen's instincts kicked in. Her palm connected sharply with his cheek, causing his head to snap to the side. For a moment, there was silence as he stared into the air in shock and disbelief.
He turned back to her, his eyes narrowed in anger. Kristen’s heart pounded with fear as she looked back at him. "Did you just use your hands on me?" he hissed, still trying to comprehend what had just happened. "How dare you?" he snarled, taking a step forward.
Kristen stepped back. "Stay away from me," she warned, trying to steady her voice.
He smirked and moved closer. "You make me laugh," he said. "What makes you think you’re going to succeed anyway, huh? No experience, no connections. Who's going to hire someone like you? You think you can just walk into my office and act like you’re better than this?" he taunted.
"I'd rather fail on my own than succeed because of a man like you," she said as she swallowed hard.
His expression darkened, and before she could react, he lunged forward and grabbed her arm with a bruising grip, trying to pull her closer, his face inches from hers. "You'll regret that," he whispered, attempting to force her into a kiss.
Summoning every ounce of strength she had left, she drove her knee into his stomach, which made him gasped in pain, and his grip on Kristen loosened. Seizing the opportunity, she quickly sprinted out of the office without looking back.

The Meyer’s Residence..
Lena paced around her lavish bedroom, examining the diamond-studded wedding invitations. The door cracked open, and one of her housemaids entered quietly, holding a tray of tea.
"Ma’am, I brought your tea, just as you requested," Maria, the maid, said with a polite bow.
Lena barely glanced at her and waved dismissively. "Just put it down and don’t hover, Maria. It’s distracting."
Maria nodded quickly and placed the tray on the side table. As she turned to leave, Lena’s voice cut through the air. "Why is my dress still in its bag? I told you to steam it hours ago. Do you want me looking like a wrinkled mess at the girls' party tonight?"
Maria flinched slightly but kept her head down. “I’m so sorry, Ma’am, I’ll take care of it right away.”
Lena rolled her eyes and sighed dramatically. “You’re always sorry, Maria. If you can’t complete this simple task, what’s the point of having you around?” She paused, muttering under her breath, “Ten days until I’m Mrs. Anderson, and I won’t let anything, especially not incompetence...ruin it for me. You better start acting right, or you can count your days too.”
Maria’s hands trembled as she quickly picked up the dress bag, her gaze fixated on the ground as she hurriedly left the room.
With a deep sigh, Lena sank into a chair and picked up her ..

“What?!! I wish I was there. I would have given that creep a piece of my mind! How dare he try something like that?” Noami exclaimed, her face flushed with anger.
“You know me already, Noami. I am not the one to spare, I slapped him and ran out before he could try anything else.”
“You did the right thing. I think it's about time you leave the Philippines and come back to New York. There are more opportunities here.. you can start afresh from here,” Noami said as she stopped in her tracks.
“Reason why I am leaving on the next flight first thing tomorrow,” Kristen said with a smile.
“Really?” Noami said as she screamed with excitement.
“Yeah, I’ve had enough here,” Kristen said, smiling.

At the coffee shop in New York..
"You know I can’t let anyone see me around you. I’m an influencer, and I need to maintain a positive image for my brand," Lena muttered as she fidgeted with her hat and adjusted her sunglasses and mask, glancing around nervously.
"I know, but I needed to talk to you about the marriage," Ryan said, his voice tense as he leaned closer across the small coffee table and held his coffee tightly.
Lena sighed, rolled her eyes, and shifted in her seat. "Well, there’s nothing I can do about the marriage. I don’t want it either, but it’s a family thing... and honestly, it’s going to boost my brand and give me the lifestyle I need."
Ryan’s jaw tightened as he stared at her, his voice dropping to a low, hurt tone. "What will happen to us then, to what we share?"
Lena leaned back, and a smirk played on her lips beneath her disguise. "Nothing will change, Ryan. I’ll still come to you when I need... pleasure. But you can’t give me the life I want. You know that."
Ryan swallowed hard as he looked at her. "But it's you I want, not him. What makes you think he's going to treat you any better than I do? Is it because he has money?"
"Well, I will be just fine. I’ve known Reafe since we were kids, he keeps me everything I want anyways" Lena said.
"Let’s see how things go tomorrow. I’m pretty sure you’ll land a good-paying job with all those qualifications..." Naomi said as they strolled down the narrow road.Kristen walked quietly beside her, lost in her thoughts, her gaze fixed on the ground."Come on, cheer up. You’ve only been here two days, and I just know tomorrow will turn out great," Naomi added, nudging Kristen lightly with her elbow.Kristen nodded and smiled softly."I’m happy to have you back," Naomi said, wrapping her arms around Kristen from behind in a warm hug as they continued walking.Kristen giggled softly. "I’m happy to be here too," she replied, letting herself lean into the comfort of Naomi’s embrace. As they continued down the road, Kristen's eyes caught sight of a white house at the end of the street. She paused mid-step, a puzzled look crossing her face. "Wait... there wasn’t any house here three years ago," she murmured, tilting her head to the side.Naomi chuckled softly beside her. The morning sun cast its golden light upon the mansion, as the flowers swayed gracefully in the garden."Gracious Lord, my rice porridge on the fire!"Mrs Sophia exclaimed as she set down the watering can heavily on the ground and quickly rushed through the garden to enter the house...…..."This is it, I need to get out of here," Kristen whispered to herself, darting out from her hiding spot. The entrance door was ajar, and with a surge of urgency, she sprinted toward it. Just as she reached the threshold, ready to make her escape, a voice pierced the air."Excuse me, who are you?" The voice halted her in her tracks. Kristen froze, her breath catching as she turned slowly to face the speaker."Oh, you must be the maid that the 'Your Home We Care' agency sent,"Mrs Sophia’s voice softened as she hurried over. Kristen nodded her head quickly and frantically. Her heart pounded in her chest as she swallowed hard, forcing a nervous smile on her face whileMrs Sophia approached her."We nee

"I'll take care of it, sir. Why don’t you go back home and get some rest? Your wedding is in two days, you’ll need it," Mr. Green said, reaching to collect the files in front of Mr. Anderson."What’s the difference? It’s just another business deal, nothing major… you don’t have to worry about me," Anderson replied sharply as he leaned back in his chair."At least she’s the only one you have a heart for…" Mr. Green added, and Anderson shot him a look.….…………………………………..MallLena moved smoothly through the aisles, pulling dresses and accessories off the racks. Without a word, she began piling them into Kristen's arms, causing Kristen to stagger back, unprepared for the sudden load."Hey, don’t lag too far behind," Lena called over her shoulder, barely glancing at Kristen, who was struggling to keep the dresses from slipping to the floor. As they turned a corner, Lena spotted a gleaming display of heels and strode over for a closer look. She picked up a pair of white satin heels adorned
The morning light cast a magical glow over the white filled hall, where everything shimmered like freshly fallen snow. The room was filled with guest, all dressed in shades of white.Their laughter and chatter mingled harmoniously with the gentle piano music playing softly in the background. Bundles of white roses lined the aisle, their delicate petals carefully scattered along the path leading to the altar.Cameramen flashing lights left and right“I knew I made the right choice with you for my only daughter,” Mr. Erik said warmly. A respectful smile played on his lips as he extended his hand meeting Mr. Erik’s approving nod.“You’re a brave young man,” Mr. Erik continued with genuine admiration. “Not just anyone could stand here today, ready to ta
Kristen tried to scream for help but her voice was muffled beneath the heavy veil as she and Mr. Erik stood before the massive hall. The soft sound of piano music floated through the air and her heart raced wildly.“Is everything all right, my love?” Mr. Erik asked as he leaned closer with concern.Kristen shook her head quickly as she trembled with fear. He gently squeezed her hands and smiled warmly..The doors opened before them revealing the grand wedding set and everyone in the hall rose to their feet and faced their direction with their eyes directly on her. She could barely breathe as the weight of it all pressed down. “I... I think I might faint,” Kristen whispered, her voice wavering. As Kristen stood frozen at the entrance, Mr. Erik leaned in and whispered, “One step at a time, my love.” Her heart raced as she took one step down the aisle. The soft melody of the piano pierced her chest and she could feel sweat slipping down her skin beneath her dress. All eyes were on her wi
"What nonsense are you talking about? What do you mean they've left?" Mr. Valtor snapped angrily, glaring furiously at Mr. Green, who stood awkwardly in front of him."H...he said he’ll be back, Sir. We just need to calm down and wait for them," Mr. Green stammered as he struggled to find the right words."Rubbish, Green! Can you hear yourself speak? Get me the wedding planner immediately!" Mr. Valtor barked, his frustration evident in every word. "And call that insensible boss of yours. Tell him to return here immediately if he knows what's good for him!"With that, he stormed off.…As he turned the corner, he nearly collided with his wife, who looked equally distraught, her phone clutched tightly in her trembling hands.“Good, you’re here,” Mr. Valtor said sharply. “What did he say? Did you tell him to be back here within the next ten minutes?” he demanded.Mrs. Julia shook her head, her face pale as she nervously rubbed the phone between her fingers. “I couldn’t reach them, Valtor.
"Hahaha, look! The groom and his bride," Mr. Erik said as he stepped out of the sleek car with a grin, his friends following closely behind. At the same time, Mr. Valtor and Mrs. Julia exited their vehicle their expressions unreadable as they entered the scene."Dad!" Lena called out her voice light and sweet as she rushed toward Mr. Erik. Her shimmering gold dress sparkled under the lights as she threw her arms around him in a warm embrace.Max stood a few steps behind, now dressed in a sharp suit that perfectly matched Lena’s outfit. His posture was composed but his eyes flickered with questions.Lena pulled back, turning her radiant smile toward the group. "He wanted to show me a place that means a lot to him," she said with a soft laugh, glancing briefly at Max. "That’s why we left the wedding early. I’m sorry for the inconvenience."Mr. Erik raised his eyebrows and clapped Max on the shoulder with an approving grin. "Well done, Max! A man who knows how to treat his bride. That’s w
A smile still sat on Lena’s lips as she sipped her drink slowly. Her eyes followed the man walking away, the brown envelope now gone from the table. And then... the flashbacks came rushing in.Flashback: Two Months AgoIt was two months ago, days after Max had mistakenly married Kristen instead of Lena. He stormed out of the mansion as he said to himself, “I will make sure to get everything on her.”Lena, curious and secretly following him, watched as Max met with a man in a quiet corner. She stayed hidden, her eyes narrowing when she saw Max hand something over to the man, clearly instructing him.As soon as Max drove off, Lena didn’t waste a second. She rushed toward the man.“Hey, Mrs. Lena, you’re here…” the man said nervously.“Charles,” she greeted with a smile. “Long time no see.”“I saw Max here. What did he say?” she asked, tilting her head.Charles hesitated, trying to brush her off. But Lena stepped closer with sharp eyes. “I heard everything. He asked you to do something,
The next dayMr. Green sat slouched against the wall, his head resting to the side as his eyes closed. He had fallen asleep just like that, still in yesterday’s clothes. His arms were folded between his legs, as if trying to hold himself together. The hallway around him was quiet and cold, too.“Mr. Green,” the doctor called gently as he walked toward him.Mr. Green stirred awake, rubbed his eyes and tried sitting up straight. His back ached from sleeping against the hard wall, but he didn’t care. “How is he?” he asked quickly with a rough voice. The doctor sighed and folded his arms. “He made it through the night… barely. His vitals have stabilized a little, but he’s still not responding the way we hoped.”Mr. Green blinked slowly. “Is he… conscious?”The doctor shook his head. “No, not yet. His body’s weak. And his kidneys… we may not have much time before we need to act.”Mr. Green looked down at his hands. “What do we do now?”“We need a donor. Fast,” the doctor said quietly. “We’
“Oh my, I need to make sure I look good there, at least,” Lena said, pacing back and forth in her closet. She held up an outfit in front of her, still on the hanger.“Hmm, no… this looks overdressed,” she muttered as she tossed it to the floor.“This one’s too tight.” Another outfit joined the pile. Then her eyes lit up.“Perfect. This one’s comfy... and great for the hospital. At least I’ll get a better angle if the media shows up,” she smiled, satisfied, and rushed into the washroom to change.….………..He walked into one of the hospital’s private rooms reserved for family. Max walked slowly toward the altar, his steps heavy and his face serious. He adjusted his clip as he moved, and every step was measured.Lena, who was seated on the altar side, suddenly stood up when she heard the murmurs. When she turned, she saw Max approaching, and a small grin crossed her face. I knew you were definitely going to show your face, she thought.Max reached her side, and without a moment's hesitation, Lena rushed forward and hugged him. Lena stood in front of the mirror, smiling at her reflection. Her dress sparkled. Her hair was perfect. Not today.“I’m not stressing out today,” she whispered to herself.Just then, the door opened and her parents stepped in.Lena lit up. “Mom, Dad!”“Out, everyone,” she said quickly to the makeup team. “Give us a minute.”Her dad looked her up and down with a smile on his face.“Are you sure you’re the bride this time?” he teased.Lena rolled her eyes with a playful laugh. “Of course, duhhh.”They all chuckled.“I told you not to stress yourselves coming,” she added as she adjusted her veil in the mirror.“Give us a break, princess,” her dad said. “We wouldn’t miss this.....even if it was the tiniest celebration.”He leaned in and kissed her forehead gent
Max stepped out of the car, his body heavy with exhaustion. His tie was loosened, his shirt slightly wrinkled, but none of it mattered. His mind was elsewhere. As he walked toward the door, his foot hit something small. A faint glint caught his eye. He frowned and knelt down to see what it was. His fingers brushed over the dirt, and then he saw it. It was a ring and it looked familiar...His breath caught.Slowly, he picked it up, his hands trembled as he wiped off the dust. The moment his fingers closed around it, a memory crashed into him."Will you marry me again?"Kristen’s voice, her hesitant smile, the way she looked at him that night.....it all came rushing back.“Kristen…” he whispered, his eyes scanning the empty space around him. His chest tightened. He turned in circles, gripping the ring tighter.“Kristen!” he called out again. But there was no answer. Just silence. He exhaled sharply as he pressed the ring to his chest.Max rushed inside, still holding onto the ring tight
The ambulance had just taken its left on the main road…and Ryan did same, still having a heavy smile on his face….As he drove, a memory flashed in his mind….how he had made this possible.''Time to make a claim'' he whispered, and with that, he walked out of sight.Ryan burst into the hospital, his voice urgent. “Where is my wife? Where is she?” He looked around frantically as he played the part of a distressed husband.A doctor stepped forward, his expression calm but skeptical. “Sir, who are you referring to?”Ryan exhaled sharply, as if barely keeping himself together. “Naomi Macy. My wife! She was brought in earlier, and I need to transfer her to a better facility immediately.”The doctor frowned. “That’s impossible. We need her family’s authorization”Ryan cut him off, pulling out his phone. “Here. Look at this!” He shoved the screen toward the doctor, displaying multiple photos of himself and Naomi together. Some were edited, others manipulated, but convincing enough. The doctor
Max burst through the hospital doors, his breath was heavy as his entire body was covered in Naomi’s blood. His eyes were wide with panic as he shouted, "Doctor! Somebody help!" His voice echoed through the halls.Doctors and nurses rushed toward him, but he couldn’t wait....he carried Naomi straight inside with trembling arms. "She’s losing too much blood! Do something!" he demanded..A nurse tried to take Naomi from him, but he wouldn’t let go. His grip tightened as if he could hold onto her life himself. "Sir, please, let us handle this!" a doctor insisted.Max hesitated, his heartbeat pounding in his ears. He finally laid her on the stretcher, watching as they wheeled her away. His hands, stained red, hung in the air before he clenched them into fists. His legs felt weak, his vision blurred, but he forced himself to stay standing."Please… save her," he whispered, his voice barely audible.Just then, the doors to the emergency room slammed shut in front of him, leaving him standing
