Loud laughter echoed in Aiden's office. His best friend, Kaegan, always chuckled whenever he glanced at his forehead. A small circle bump was obvious. Rolling his eyes, he just adjusted in his seat and focused on rolling an ice bag In it.
Aiden scoffed and was still furious at the woman. He came to work with a small purple circle evident on his forehead. Everyone who saw it was looking at him with curious stares. But the fact that he was still dazed for what happened between them, he didn’t know what occurred to his mind that he always let his guard down whenever she was around.
He was amazed by her–not on her appearance though. Looks could be deceiving, really. And his forehead was the proof.
He was in the office with his best friends, Kaegan and Claus. Claus was a businessman while Kaegan owned a bar. Unlike him, they were serious in their works and happy at the same time. Not that he wasn’t happy about his work, but he was too stressed with many things handled by him.
"I really like that woman! Seriously, she did that? I salute her," Claus said then glanced at him.
And he knew that kind of look. 'You already found your match'. Kaegan and Claus looked at each other and laughed. He rolled his eyes, throwing some papers to his crazy friends.
“Dude, the thick wall you built up a long time ago was starting to break apart. You guarded yourself well but that woman was cracking your wall down,” Kaegan said.
He looked away, tapping his long fingers on the glass table. His friends were right, but he wouldn’t say it. For now, he would just go with the flow.
The knock on his office’s door cut their conversation. A nurse revealed her head to the slightly opened door and narrowed her eyes when she perhaps saw there were other people inside. Claus, being a chick magnet, flashed his wide smile that made the nurse blushed. She quickly closed the door, then.
Feeling annoyed, he kicked his friend and hissed. "What are you even doing here, Claus? Does my office look like your office?”
"It's fun coming here. Many nurses want to see me," Claus replied, which made him and Kaegan scowled in disgust.
"Oops! Just kidding, man. Kaegan invited us to the Bachelor’s Pad for full night fun. And you can’t say no. There are beautiful and hot babes there,” Claus said. He winked at Kaegan who just smirked back.
He looked at Kaegan with a disapproving face. “What about Amy?”
“She’s already in Mom’s. Come on, Aiden. Loosen up, you need to relax. Just for tonight, a'right?” Kaegan pleaded.
That was what he liked in his best friends. Even though they were all busy with their own work, they still had time together. Even when he was in Australia, they still managed to call each other.
“But let's get back to the conversation. Why is that woman so angry with you? I thought you let her sleep in your house?” Claus said. He cocked his eyebrow, probably trying to gather some information to blackmail him after.
He also thought that. Claus was right, he had already helped the woman but she was still frantic with him. Likely because of what happened at the hospital or when he called her a call girl.

"There is bleeding in the patient's artery," Aiden informed his surgical team before starting the operation.
"Control his blood pressure. We cannot waste any seconds on this surgery. Okay, position." He first modified the monitor to the anesthesiologist. Everyone was ready for the operation.
"Scalpel."
At first, it was very difficult for him and his team to find out where the second bleeding was coming from after they found the first bleeding in her artery. He concentrated, feeling the pulse on his hands. He smiled when he found the source.
"Suction." He appeared to have gained the confidence of his team. They all smiled at him.
"Vital signs?" He asked his anesthesiologist.
"His vital signs are good. Continue," she replied.
"Okay good. Forcep."
After hours, the operation was successful.
He left the OR and was greeted by fellow doctors. They were all smiling and greeting him. As if it was his first time doing a successful operation.
"You're really the best, Dr. Collin." He thanked them all although he wanted to run to his office at that moment to rest.
It wasn't long enough for him at his father’s hospital but many believed in his will as a doctor. They always praised him, he didn’t know if that was only when they were in front of him since he had a bad reputation in their eyes.
He then remembered the woman in his house, she was the only one who had no hesitation in speaking back to him. A small smile slipped on his lips. Those in front of him seemed surprised at what he had done. He immediately withdrew his smile and adjusted his eyeglass. He left them with their curious stares and went straight to the locker room.
"Dr. Collin! Dr. Collin!"
He quickly put his clothes on. The locker rattled as someone leaned forward and his assistant gasped after she stopped right beside him.
"What are you doing?"
"S–Sorry, Dr. Collin. I didn't know you're changing but there's someone outside your office. She doesn't want to leave until you talk to her. You need to hurry; she might cause trouble—"
He did not wait for anything else she was saying. He hurried back to his office. Some nurses were outside and forcing a woman to leave. He removed his eyeglass and peeked first at the woman's leg up to her clothes. Only then did he knew who she was. The nurses stopped even the woman who was trying to enter his office when they noticed his presence.
"You all may go.” He ordered the nurses. They nodded before leaving but curiosity was visible on their faces. They were all glancing back to him and to the woman who was now grinning at him.
Instead of irritation, amusement took over him when she saw her looks. He put his hands either on his waist and acted mad. With her little figure, he was towering over her now. But what surprised him was that the woman stared back. There was a feeling of slight sensation in his chest. He could not understand himself when he stared into her eyes.
“How did you get here?” He asked, wondering how the hell the woman came here if she had nothing at all. Did she walk up to here?
She raised her left eyebrow. "Wanna know the answer? Well, get out of this hospital and pay for the taxi outside!" She yelled. Some passersby noticed her but she seemed not to care. She stood there, scolding him like the boss.
He narrowed his eyes on her and quickly grabbed her arms to take her out. She was fucking right, there was a taxi waiting outside. Fortunately, he had some money in his pants pocket.
"Oh Sir, I thought this young woman was just fooling around. She just walked out of my car and told me to wait for his doctor husband for the fare. But all right, thank you," said the taxi driver.
He raised an eyebrow as he faced the woman again. “When the hell did I become your husband?”
She averted her gaze from him. Because of their large height gap, he bowed slightly, and their faces aligned. She kept looking on her left side. He raised his hand and touched her chin to turn towards him.
"When you really want to, you can do something . . ." he said. "My wife," he added. He smiled when both her cheeks turned red. It was even redder than her cheeks’ natural color.
She rolled her eyes. “I wanted to go home since I still had work. I already thought of looking for money in your house but guilt took over me. See? I'm nice, ” she said with her sarcastic tone.
She told him that she went inside his room, looking for clothes. And yes, she indeed as she appeared to chose the pale blue sleeve, his short that almost reached her feet and large slippers. No wonder why the taxi driver said that she was fooling around.
He scanned her once again before shaking his head with a disbelieving look.
“I just did that because I'm already itching with my dress. You said you would send clothes but my hair already became white and they’re not still there. But since I got here, I can go home," she explained with her mad tone.
'Cute.'
"I'm leaving!"
He was about to remark something but she left quickly. He found himself laughing with her gesture. Amusement was written all over his face. That woman was in trouble, really. She knew she had no money but she still managed to walk out on him. Surely, she would chase him again. He turned away, counting one to three, and chuckled.
"Hey, you mister! I had no money! You jerk, why didn’t you remind me?" She exclaimed. He looked around only to find people glancing at them.
And he didn’t care, whispering to himself. “As if I will give you money. Nope, I’m still the cold person I used to be.” He looked away and tried not to focus on her begging face.
One minute later, the woman was grinning–her smile almost reached her ears. After doing some teary-eyed acting in front of the hospital, she got money in a flash from him.

Nimueh got home feeling happy. The face of the doctor still lingered on her mind. She kept giggling whenever she thought of him and his sexy voice. Although the doctor seemed serious and mad at the world, she couldn’t deny that she had a crush on him. Who wouldn’t?
A knock on her door awakened her from daydreaming. She stomped her feet towards the door. When she opened it, she got confused because no one was there. Her apartment wasn’t really nice to rent in but she couldn’t afford a high-priced apartment since her salary couldn’t afford that much. So she thought it was just a random kid who loved to play with the doorbell since her door was an easy target.
She was about to walk in back when she noticed a small envelope laying just right to her feet. She stooped down to get it and found nothing but her name and address but there was no sender’s name stated. She shrugged and got inside.
Nimueh was busy fixing her things for work when she saw the envelope lying in her drawer. She was too busy for the last few days that she didn’t even bother to read it. And since she thought it was just some kind of prank, she set it aside. With an odd feeling, she opened it.
Nimueh was still managing to fix her mind. She was in Aiden’s house again. And the man wasn’t like the last time they met. He was kind, a gentleman, and had time to worry about her.She was sitting on one of Aiden’s couches. A large
Aiden sighed in relief after the lawsuit was fixed. The family tried to take down the hospital but after thorough discussion and explanation, they decided to dismiss the case and just compensate. Two weeks for him had been hectic and stressful. Thankfully, after the issue was fixed, everything went back to normal again.
It's been almost two days since Nimueh was kidnapped. She didn't know if someone even noticed her disappearance. Even if she wanted to run away, she couldn't because she was guarded by two armed men. She was trying to think of any way to escape for the hours she was kept. She could not die here.
After their awkward or much more Nimueh’s awkward situation, Aiden helped her to get up to walk again. She made sure first that her heart was okay for a long walk again before she agreed."Be alert. We need to get out of here before they find out you’re already out of leash. Stop being stubborn, okay?" Aiden told her. He was holding her waist for support.
Nimueh wiggled when she felt something warm tickling her neck. She moaned softly because it was warm and soothing her, as if rocking her back to sleep. She snuggled closer, keeping herself warm and comfortable. She was about to stretch out when someone laced an arm tightly around her waist. She regained her consciousness and gasped. She was in deep shock to react when she saw someone beside her, a man.
It’s been hard for Nimueh in the ensuing days, she was called in the police station to give a statement. She already knew that the mastermind of the kidnapping was the person who had a wrath in her parents. But it wasn’t just like a wrath, he wanted to avenge his daughter’s death which he thought that her parents were the one who caused it.
Nimueh forced herself to stay focused on their date. If it was just like before, she wouldn’t have agreed to Dr. Tim to take her out to dinner. Now that the doctor appeared to be serious about her and always looked after her, she couldn’t say
