I was in a hospital room, with nurses all around me. I realized that I was looking through my mothers eyes. This was her memory.
A blood curdling scream left my lips as another contraction washed over. I could feel everything my mother felt. Tears streaming down my face, “where is he?!” I yelled searching for my mate, only my mothers voice came out instead of mine.“He is on his way, Alpha, keep breathing. You got this Anna.” One of the nurses said to me,After pushing for what seemed for hours a cry echoed through the room taking their first few breaths. Dr.Zane placed the baby, who I realized was me, in my arms just as my dad Dean rushed through the operating doors. He placed his hands on his knees bending over trying to catch his breathBefore walking over to us. I felt my mother’s anxiety when she realized I did not have the scent that I should. That was when she realized that Dean was not my father. missing pieces of her memory coming into place. I tried shaking the memories away. Dean looked at me with worry as he brushed his thumb over the baby's head. I knew he could tell I wasn’t his but also recognized the scent. But he didn’t let us feel any negativity. Before I could continue my thought, all the nurses and Dean were flung to the edges of the room when a powerful cry left my infant lungs. My mother winced at the noise that came out of her. Seeing a forcefield that left my little mouth.I looked down at the beautiful bundle in my arms with shock. my green eyes glowed at my mother while gnawing at my infant hand. It was crazy to see myself through my mothers eyes along with seeing power I didn't realize I had since I was born.“Is everyone alright?” She asked everyone in the room. I heard murmurs throughout the room letting me know everyone was fine.Dean put a thumbs up as he sat up against the wall. “Damn, our girl has some lungs on her huh?”He winced as he got up and walked back over to us. Rubbing her cheek with his finger without hesitation after what just happened. My mother looked at him with a confused expression. I would have been running to the hills.“Dean…she's not…” She started to say“I know, baby. But you are both mine.” He smiled, interrupting me. “Do you know what you want to name her?” He asked, looking down at his claimed daughter, he claimed me without hesitation.“Quinn.” She responded looking into my eyes.“Quinn…I love it. Quinn Meredith Pierce.” Dean stated.Tears formed in my eyes when I realized he gave me not only his last name but his mother’s name for my middle. The doctor and nurses quickly picked up the hospital room and filed out to give Dean and I some privacy.I looked at him as I propped myself up. Dean took baby me from my mother’s arms and started rocking me in the rocking chair in the corner of the room.“I remember everything Dean. I know who attacked me.” My mother’s words were laced with fear. I was horrified by what was yet to come.I was sucked into another memory. One that I could feel was dark. I appeared to be downtown walking with my mom's best friends. “We can walk you home babe.” Christine said to me.“No it’s okay, the pack house is right around the corner.” I replied with a smile. She nodded in agreement and continued to walk down Main Street with our friend Sydney.Turning the corner I shivered as the wind picked up. I knew I could feel my mothers worry that her beta and mother would be pissed at her for walking home by herself.I was pushed away from my thoughts as I saw three figures come out of the shadows. My body instinctively got into a defensive stance. My mothers wolf push forward ready to attack.“Evening Alpha Anna.” A deep voice echoed in the alley.I raised an eyebrow and sniffed the air. The smell of whiskey, lust, and foreigners filled the air. What I wasn’t expecting was Alpha Rowan from the Blood Moon pack coming out of the shadows. He had a cruel look on his face. All of his features d
Before I could take a breath I was rushed back to the present day. I fell back in my chair that had been taken off the floor. taking my hand away from my mothers. Gasping for air. My parents rushed to my sides. “Oh my god, Quinn! Baby what just happened?!” my mother cried, her face paled. I looked around to make sure I was in fact back in the present. “I….I saw…” I couldn’t form the words to tell me mother that I had witnessed her being raped. My mother looked at me in horror and then to my father. “Did you have a vision?”Her voice was shaky. I nodded my head. “I saw them…..I saw them attack you.,..I saw everything.” I stammered trying to make sense of it all. Tears fell from my mothers eyes as she realized what I had just seen. She wrapped me in her arms. I felt my fathers arms wrap around both of us. “I never wanted to see any of that. I am so sorry.” she cried. I just nodded my head. I felt drained. I felt like part of my soul had darkened, tainted by my mothers memories. “Is
My mother had called Thomas to come over and pick me up the next morning. We all agreed that I needed to spend time with him and his pack especially since my 18th birthday was right around the corner. Thomas had mentioned to my mother that he wanted me to attend the pack school on his territory. My mom didn’t protest. I didn’t sleep. Ryan came in to snuggle, upset that I was leaving. I wish I could explain everything to him; however I refused to steal his innocence. The next morning I finished packing some of the essentials in some bags. I saw him pull up in his black suv. Beta Sam sat in the passenger seat. Anxiety started to plague me. Was this a good idea? I didn’t know how to feel knowing what he did.I stood on the front porch with some of my bags next to me. He gave me a sad smile and instead of giving me a hug like he usually did, he picked up my bag and swung it over his shoulder.“Hey kiddo, you ready?” Thomas asked. I could tell he was nervous. My mother walked onto the po
—-I spent the day unpacking. Thomas let me be as I got settled. I heard him walk up to my door a few times before walking away. What could he say? I knew the truth of what he did. I know he didn’t have any control over the command, but I was still upset. Rachel blew up my phone. Upset that I didn’t say bye to her before I left. I groaned, and fell on bed face first not wanting to deal with more drama. I had enough going on. “Quinn,” Thomas knocked on the door and stepped in. He looked around the room; it looked like a tornado went off in here. I moved my head to the side. “Whats up?” “Well, it looks like you have gotten a lot done.” He teased me. I rolled my eyes as I folded a shirt and stacked it on top of a pile of already folded clothes. He leaned against the dresser closest to the door and ran his fingers through his hair. I looked at him over my shoulder picking up another piece of clothing to fold.“Quinn…. I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Please know how incred
I surprisingly slept better than I had in a long time; however, my beauty rest was rudely awakened by a ridiculous alarm ringtone that no doubt Ryan had set up. Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC rang through the phone. I'll give him some credit. He had good taste. I walked out of my bedroom entranced by my phone. Responding to the never-ending texts Rachel was sending me asking when I was coming back. As I turned the corner, I suddenly hit a wall that was wet and heard a grunt. It took me a second to realize I had in fact walked into a wet man. My eyes slowly traveled up his body. His muscles were perfectly shaped. A towel hung low around his waist showing off his Adonis belt and packed chest of muscle. He had scars that resembled claw marks going across his right peck. Tattoos cascading down one of his arms and down both legs. His brown hair was long on top and faded on the sides. His beard was barely grown in. His gray eyes sparkled. I couldn’t help but be in awe of the Greek god standing bef
The drive was brief. I got out of the car and walked up to what looked to be an abandoned warehouse.“This can’t be the place.” I mumbled to myself to look at the text Thomas sent. This was the address. But it didn’t look like a school to me.I looked over at Sam. Was he really going to follow me everywhere I went? I already felt like a freak show at my last school. I refused to start that way here. “I don’t think we are in the right spot.” I said to him, ``getting a little annoyed.“Are you sure?” He asked with a grin. Still leaning on the car. He pointed to a woman who was dressed in a black pantsuit. Her auburn hair neatly clipped up. She oozed dominant energy. I looked at him confused, when I heard her call my name. “You must be Miss Pierce.” She walked up to me with a perfect smile. I nodded, unsure who this person was. “I am Katherine Turner, headmaster of the academy.“Good morning, Sam.” She welcomed. He nodded with a smile. “Alpha Thomas informed me that you would be accomp
As soon as he walked past me he did a double take in my direction. Awkward. His sparkling gray eyes looked at me surprised before he quickly pushed the look away. He stood next to Mr. Reynolds waved before folding his arms across his chest. “Hey guys,” his smile was perfect with his full lips. His voice is deep and smooth.Get it together Quinn, of course the only man that I ever had physical contact with had to be him and look like him. Was bad enough I embarrassed myself at home but now I had to deal with him at school! I scolded myself internally. “So today we will be focusing on fighting fist on fist for moments that you are unable to access your powers. We will then go into a second round where we will then bring in your powers to see where everyone is at.” He explained. We all lined up and one by one I watched Derek throw the students on their asses. I thankfully was trained by my mother and I knew I had the advantage of having alpha blood even though I hadn’t shifted yet. I s
I woke up to murmurs around me. As my senses came to, I realized I was lying on a couch that was in Thomas’s office. Slowly sitting up I held one hand to my head and the other shielded my eyes from the fluorescent lights. I felt like I was run over by a train. “Quinn,” I heard Thomas’s voice as he rushed over to me. “Are you alright?”“I’m fine, I just wanted to make a lasting first impression at school.” joking, not wanting to show how embarrassed I was. Thomas chuckled, moving a strand of hair that fell in my face over my shoulder. “Well, I would say you definitely made a lasting impression kiddo.” I shrugged. Thomas’s eyes glazed over, communicating with someone through the mind link. He growled and stood up quickly mumbling to himself. Curious what upset him, I got up a little too quickly as I stumbled before getting my footing. I heard yelling outside the packhouse. When I opened the door, Thomas was between Derek and Sam trying to separate them from fighting. Derek had a s
EPILOGUE 8 YEARS LATER:“Momma, I want to go see uncle Ryan!” Ellie groaned. She stomped her pink-glitter converse into the gravel of the driveway. I continued to buckle Pryor into his car seat. I sighed and looked down at my baby boy who had a big gummy smile on his face. I kissed the tip of his nose before closing the car door. “Ellisse, how many times do I need to go over this with you?” She crossed her arms and looked so much like myself, I almost wanted to take a picture of it. Ellie groaned again and looked up at the sky. “I just don’t understand why I have to go with you to get grandpa.”’I squatted down in front of her. Trying to level with an eight year old was not easy. I straightened her jacket. “We will be quick honey. I know you are excited to see Uncle Ryan on his special day, but Great Grampa wants to be there too.” “I want to see uncle Ryan, but I want to see Rykerrrrr” She growled. Ryker was Mandy and Elan’s son who was a year younger than Ellisse. She was transfix
Six Weeks LaterQUINN POVFinally getting Ellie to sleep, I flopped down on the bed. I clutched my breasts and hissed as they were sore from my crotch goblin using them as her feeding bags.Derek walked out of the bathroom, a towel low on his hips. My eyes trailed down his toned abs down to his v line where the towel was. A clearing of the throat from Derek made me snap out of the day dreaming I was in. He scratched the back of his neck. “You know, Instead of looking at me like a snack, I can give you a treat,” a smirk went across his face.I blushed. My hormones were all over the place after having Ellie. One minute I wanted to fuck, the next I wanted to sleep or cry. I don’t know how Derek was keeping it together with my 17 personalities.I perched myself on my elbows and gave him a “come here” motion with my pointer finger. “Quinn don’t tease!” Derek pouted “I’m not teasing, come here,” I said with a small smile on my face. Without wasting another second Derek dropped his towel
9 MONTHS LATER:POV Quinn “One more push Quinn. She’s almost here.” The nurse encouraged me. I squeezed Derek’s hand once more, making him wince. He had been warned not to look over the curtain and sure enough, as our baby girl was getting pulled out of me, he looked and began to sway on his feet. “Will someone please bring our King a wet compress.” The nurse between my legs instructed. She looked up at me. “One more push Quinn.”I shook my head. “I can’t.” I cried. Derek was able to pull himself together and pressed a kiss to my sweaty temple. “You can do it, baby.” Derek encouraged me. I screamed as I gave my last push, giving everything I had left in me. The equipment and lights moved and flickered at my scream. No one in the room flinched when they heard my scream. Instead they carried on like I wasn’t an octave away from blowing eardrums out. I heard my baby girl’s wail as she entered this world. My body sagged from the immediate relief of being down with pushing. I looked
6 months Later:POV Quinn “Ryan, come on! Breakfast is ready!” I called up the stairs. I was beginning to lose my patience with this boy. My once fun, loving, well-behaved younger brother, was now going through a terrible rebellious stage. Ryan stomped his way down the main stair-case of the packhouse. I rolled my eyes at his overdramatized walking. “You’re going to be late for school.”“So?” Ryan grumbled as he walked to the kitchen. “SO… It doesn't look good for the future alpha to be missing school or being late. You need to show the pack that you are reliable.” I internally cringed at my words. Ryan simply rolled his eyes and continued to go into the kitchen and sit on one of the stools at the island. I placed a heaping stake of chocolate chip pancakes in front of him. “I made your favorite.” “Thanks,” Ryan grumbled as he shoved a large piece of pancake in his mouth. Currently we were staying in my childhood pack house with the Red Night Pack as my father took some time to t
Quinn POVDerek sensed something was amidst and followed me outside where we both shifted into our wolves. The full moon’s energy coursed through us, giving us heightened speed and senses. I heard howls in the distance accompanied by mind-link messages that they too were on their way to see the rise of Damien Pierce. As we approached the hospital, the voices that had quieted since receiving my necklace were now talking all at once. “Savior! Follow the power!” The tall slate brick building came into view. Seline pushed herself faster. Wanting nothing more than to get closer to the energy source that emanated from the tall building. As we approached the hospital, two nurses stood outside waiting for us with scrubs to change into. Derek and I quickly shifted back to our human forms. “My Queen.” The nurses bowed before handing us the clothing. I still didn’t know how to handle being called that. I certainly did not feel like a queen. I gave them a small smile before getting changed. “W
What the man didn’t tell me was that my grandfather was not only speaking in his sleep, but approximately around the time Rowan was killed, he roared loud enough to make the building tremble under its intensity. Reluctantly, I had sent a mind link to my father to let him know about the situation. To no surprise he didn’t respond. With Ryan with Thomas and Kat, Derek and I were now here at the hospital in my grandfather’s room. I felt the stone on my necklace heat as we got closer to my grandfather’s bed. The sensation made me gasp. Derek looked at me warily. “You okay?” I tugged on the string to push the stone off my skin. “Ye-yeah” I stammered. My grandfather began to stir in his bed. Maybe it was because of the full moon tonight. Everyone seemed to be antsy, which was normal for a full moon. I walked over to my grandfather and put my hand into his. His complexion had improved significantly since the last time I had visited. His cheeks were less gaunt and now had a pink hue to th
Quinn POV Amelia and the remaining members of her and Rowan’s army were nowhere to be found. I immersed myself in helping tend to any injured and to support the mourning families. I refused to acknowledge that now that the other services for the fallen had been commenced, it was now time for my mother’s. The impending storm that threatened to come held off for my mother’s service. Whispers and side glances plagued my senses as I stood next to my father and Ryan. Derek stood behind me, close enough to let me know that he was there, but also allowing me to mourn with my family. My black knee length dress felt like it was suffocating me. I tugged at the fabric, attempting to get more room but unsuccessful. My father stood as still as a statue in an all black bespoke suit. His hands rested in front of him as he continued to look at my mother’s dark cherry coffin. Thomas led the ceremony. His usually bright emerald green eyes were dull and filled with unshed tears. Everyone was dressed
Quinn POV Howls echoed in unison throughout the territory as we all felt the tether to my mother break. I focused my energy on the enemy in front of me. I could break after this bitch was destroyed. Something must have spooked Amelia because she extinguished her smoke spheres and looked at me with her blood shot eyes. “This is over Quinn. I will take all that you took from me!” Before I could move towards her, she vanished in a cloud of smoke along with Rowan’s body. I let out a growl. “I’ll be waiting!”As soon as Amelia was gone, I ran back over to my mother and father. I fell to my knees in front of my mother and wrapped my arms around my father’s torso. “Daddy, she’s gone.” His entire body trembled as the other half to his soul was taken from him. Members of the surrounding packs circled us. Some wounded, some missing limbs, but all giving their respect for one of their leaders. I heard the sound of feet hitting the ground quickly before I heard the sound of Kat gasp. She fel
QUINN POVI knew she was gone when I heard my father‘s roar. It echoed throughout the field making me wince from the pain in my ears. I looked up to see my dad‘s wolf running to my mother who was still cradled in my arms. He licked her face as if his kisses could help heal what was broken. Tears streamed down my face as I felt her tether to me vanish. I brushed some hair away from her pale lifeless face. I heard bones cracking and rearranging before the bloody hands of my father touched my mothers face. Extreme guilt filled me knowing she just sacrificed her life for me. I looked at my father who looked like he had seen a ghost.“Anna baby please wake up please wake up” he cried shaking her pepper in her face with kisses “please baby wake up wake up you can’t be gone” he looked at me and panic.“What have you done you bitch!” The woman screamed. In my despair I had almost forgotten that Amelia was still alive. I stood up and moved in between my parents and Amelia. Her eyes became a
