The more he tried to talk, the more his stomach emptied itself. I sensed fear in Mr Person. He fell back to the couch after throwing up for about two minutes. “How are you feeling?” I asked, pulling out a gun and walking towards him. Raymond stared at me with questions in his eyes. “Thank you so much sir" Andrew and his colleague sang gratitude with sweat and air bubbles from their nose. “I will have your sack letters sent to your mail before dawn. You are to clear up your offices before 7am tomorrow morning!" I ordered. They kept pleading for me to reconsider but my mind was already made up. I signaled Albert to lose their hands and their legs before blindfolding them and leading them out of the warehouse. He drove them to a familiar bus station before zooming off. He came back to the warehouse and we drove back to the mansion together. I was exhausted and tired. I walked upstairs at 10:11pm. I checked Chole's room and she was fast asleep. I got to the office and tried to take my mind off Damien and it worked. It has been a while since I was at work hence I had loads of paperwork waiting for me. I switched on my computer and started work immediately. It was almost mid day before Madison came to the office. She opened the door and was shocked to see me. “Hey….. hi I thought you wouldn't be at work “ she stuttered. I looked at her and returned my attention to the files in front of me. Damien's POV. For the first time in my life, I was scared of a woman. Irene's words were like sharp arrows shot at me. It was more painful to see her act like she didn't need me too. “I don't know what I feel for you", was the line that punctured all my hopes. I stared at myself in the bathroom mirror and splashed water on my face again. I was breathing heavily, my chest was tight all of a sudden. I have fallen in love with Irene. I stood under the shower and memories of our passionate moments in the bathroom flushed through my mind. I leaned on the wall with my hands and hissed weakly. I finally got out of the bathroom and tried to concentrate on the stock market but I couldn't stop thinking about Irene. ‘How could she stay that strong? Will she leave me after seven months?’, different thoughts aligned themselves in my head. I got to my office in an hour and got ready for my meeting with the tax board. Rita ushered them in and we began our meeting. It was nothing strange except for the fact that they demanded a 0.9% increase of my company's tax. I agreed without any hesitation because I was not in any mood to entertain their endless reasons. They left and I had the entire office to myself. I finished up paperwork and got into the stock market. Unlike the last time, I was able to place a trade correctly. I lost words and chased after Irene as she walked out of the company. I ordered the security guard to clear up the mess at my floor as I got to my car. I realized I had left my keys and my phones upstairs. I rushed back to my office to get my keys and my phones. Rushing back to the garage, Irene was gone.
