Natasha drove to the kindergarten, she waited outside the school environs, her eyes gazing at her wrist watch every now and then.
She gazed at the school entrance, a huge grin plastered across her face when she saw her two slim yet adorable twins running towards her.
Their hair flowed as they ran towards her, when they saw her, she patted their heads in an adorable manner.
"How was school?" She directly asked her twins with a smile.
Niccy stared at nothing in particular, she rubbed her palms together and pointed indirectly at her twin brother.
"Mother, Nikky got into a fight today at school," She yawned, trying to catch the look that was supposed to appear on her mother's face.
Natasha was startled, with widened eyes, what has her son done now? He was always out casuing trouble, and sometimes, she wondered. Did her son really take over her?
"What? Nikky, what did I always tell you?" Her tone was scolding enough, with her hands crossed together.
The little boy seemed to rub his hand together, trying clearly not to look into his mother's eyes.
He tried hugging her by the feet, trying the best to look so cute, "But mother, that proud girl called us fatherless children,"
What? oh my? Natasha's heart pounded in fear, this was the only thing she so much detested. Her heart missed a beat.
"Is that true Niccy?" She turned over to her daughter; and she nodded vigorously.
She sighed, before leading her children to a bench that was right across the bus.
"Mother, what ever happened to father?" Nikky popped the question she had always feared, her heart pounded in great distress.
"You father is working for you guys comfort, he sends us money occasionally," She smiled, trying her best to make it look real, but damn it wasn't working, they was gazing at her intently, their eyes seeming to be scanning her every reaction.
The twins studied her for a brief moment trying their best to catch whether she was lying, they knew she was lying and so they didn't press further.
"Mother," Nikky held her hand comfortably, she forced a smile, trying to act strong, she smiled.
"Who did you get into a fight with?" She asked, looking at him.
"Her name was Emily, and she started it first," Nikky let it all out, he was angry and that was for sure.
How can a girl named Emily come out of nowhere and start insulting him, why? just because he had no father? ridiculous.
"Why didn't you handle the case like I told you?" She was disappointed in her son.
And for the first time, Niccy spoke out in distress, "It isn't his fault mother, the girl was harsh and too rude."
Natasha just nodded her head vigorously, what could she say? The only thing she could do was sigh heavily.
In another part of the school, Alexis stood there, clinking her high heels impatiently, she seemed to be waiting for her children.
She was impatient and needed to get to the salon to fix her nails, her mind traveled to the conservation she had with her brother.
Why was Alec so stubborn-headed? she wondered, now she was thinking of what she was going to say to her mother?
Her only aim now was to make Alec get married to Haylee since she was coming back from abroad soon.
Her mind traveled to Natasha, Alec's ex wife, she wondered what she was up to now? probably married now. She snickered in her mind.
She hated Natasha with all her mind, and besides, she never fit into their class, so it was mandatory to say that she was glad when they divorced.
Her face brightened a little when she saw her kids walking over to her, a little smile spread across her face.
"Emily, Henry, how was school?" She asked indirectly, staring at them from head to toe.
Henry, her thirteen year old son, just waved it off, "It was fine, can we go home now?" He asked her.
Emily was angry about all that happened in her class today, how dare Nikky openly insult her?
She tried hiding her wounds from her mother; cause she knew of how demanding her mother could be.
Alexis stared at her daughter briefly, trying to study her, something must be up with her, she was behaving really weird.
Her eyes caught her daughter's wounds which she was trying to hide with her sleeves.
"What are you doing?" She rolled her daughter's sleeves in a swift and stared bewildered at the wounds on her daughter's arm.
"What happened?" She asked, her blood boiling in anger.
"I was injured." She tried to act like the victim, covering her eyes in a shy manner.
"What? by who?" Alexis flared up immediately, her eyes burned with anger.
"His name is Nikky," She stared blankly.
"Where is he now?" She asked angrily.
Emily's eyes studied around briefly until it landed on a bench, she pointed her hand.
"There he is!" She exclaimed.
"I will be in the car," Henry, walked up to his mother's BMW that was parked neatly in a side.
"I don't know what right he has to injure up my daughter," Alexis pulled her daughter to where Nikky was.
Natasha tidied her son's backpack in a comfortable way before tidying his sister's bag. "We have to go now," She made an attempt to get up from the bench, squinted her eyes lightly and caught a figure that walked up to her. A figure she hasn't seen in years, a figure she hated so much, Alec's sister, what in the heck was she doing here? she boiled in anger, her eyes blaring with rage. She didn't want to see her, so she quickly gripped her children's hand and made an attempt to leave, but it was as if Alexis and her daughter were quick enough to walk up to them. "Hey, are you his mother?" Alexis pointed her hand to Nikky who now stared blankly at the woman. "Yes I am, did my son do anything?" She asked, nodding her head as she stared at Alexis. Thank goodness, this woman didn't recognize her, if her ex-husband couldn't recognize her, then what of this woman? "Your son here clearly insulted my daughter," She crossed her arms over her shoulders, demanding an answer from her. "Real
The next day, In another part of the city, in a flashy mansion, one of the rooms: a woman resided. The rooms were decorated with green floral carpets, the tiles were purely white giving it a classic expression. The curtains were made with exotic red lace, the fabric alone was worth a fortune. There were many items in the rooms, from the glass table that made the whole room appear more colorful. To the green couch placed adjacent the room, the exotics tables and the large TV screen that made it look more flashier. Seated on the couch was a middle aged woman, though there appeared some age lines on the corners of her face, the makeup she applied made her look more younger; though it didn't quite hide the age lines on her face. Her hands held the glass cup firmly, she sipped from the glass bit by bit glancing at her phone. Her manner attracted fashion, champing her lips together, she appeared more older from another point of view. Of course she could have anything she wanted with
Natasha's house boomed lousily with noise, the twins had just woken up and were getting ready for school. They were bickering at themselves over a small issue, Natasha smiled to herself as she watched them argue. Though they argued every second, the bond and love the twins shared was more than enough to know that they cared for each other greatly. Natasha converted her mind back to the dish she was serving, she placed them on the table. "Eat now," She said to them as she turned to leave, but Nikky grabbed her by the hand gently. "What about you, mother?" He asked tenderly, looking at her innocently. She ruffled his hair cutely, and she coaxed his head tenderly, "I wish I could, but I have work to do, eat now," She gazed at Niccy who now had her full concern on the food, she was exactly like her father, always calm but evil. And she worried for one thing, she didn't want her daughter to turn out like her father, she loved her daughter so much. She patted their head and went to
Natasha hurriedly drove to her house, in the block she leaves, she quickly changed into normal office wear. It wasn't like she wanted to look her best for him but who knew, he might even promote her for her dressing. She picked up her car keys from the table and her phone, she quickly texted her brother and left for the office where she worked. ** After twenty minutes, she arrived at the office, she gazed around trying not to catch anyone's attention. She quickly went up the elevator to his office, she stared at the door of his office and breathed a sigh before she came in looking beautiful. Alec, who was busy with his laptop, had no idea that a woman was in his office. He had a stoic expression as he gazed at his laptop. "Umm…Sir…" She felt kinda uncomfortable as she started the discussion. Only then did he turn to gaze at her, he arranged his documents and looked at her strangely. "Cindy? Why are you late?" His tone was fearful, making her almost lose her balance. She tried
"What's going on here?" Alec overbearing tone sounded and the next minute, Haylee was acting like the innocent one. She placed her arm over her chest, and her eyes darted around. "Alec darling, can you believe your incompetent assistant? she is trying to kill me." Fake tears moistened all around her eyes. She placed her arm over her chest acting like the innocent one. His eyes landed at Natasha who already had a nervous expression and to Haylee who had a mischievous smile on her face. Slowly, he walked up to Natasha, he noticed her arm. Gently, he grabbed it. "What happened?" His words seemed to have made Natasha gulp down her spit. "Oh it is nothing." She tried smiling but her conscience pricked at her. She wanted to yell at him that it was his damn wife who got coffee spilled all around her body. Wait a minute, wasn't Haylee his wife? Alec sighed for a brief minute, he knew it was the work of Haylee, but it was better not to cause any trouble. "You are back from abroad?" His
And immediately, their eyes locked together. The next minute, he was walking towards them, a raised brow etched around his face.Natasha panicked, what if he found out about his kids? He was going to take them away from her, hastily she gazed at her kids, before pushing them aside, she didn't want her kids to have any encounter with their devilish father. "You guys have to get lost." She turned to them. "What?" Before Nikky could complete his sentence, he was pushed aside gently by Natasha, she wore an apologetic look as she pushed him to one side. "Sorry." She said silently to him, her fingers trembling badly. She positioned her self when she saw Alec already in front of her. "Sir." She hurriedly said, afraid to look at her face. "Is the thing that was important?" His gaze landed on hers, he raised his brows as he stared at her demanding an answer. "Do you have kids you pick up?" He said, unexplainable emotions flushing through his face. "No, No, No," She hurriedly said, a nerv
Three days later, The meeting room was dead silence, even a drop of a needle could be heard, it was freezing cold since it was the CEO's order. The board members were trying to please Alec, but as usual, he cold voice bounced back. "Why are we losing sales?" His tone seems to make every one look back at themselves. They tried to click the projector, they tried to say something, but as if their tongues was glued together with gum, no words could come out their mouths. They were all trying to rack their brains finding a suitable answer, but like a hero. Natasha swinged into the rescue. She explained and pointed out the mistake they were making, she spoke like a pro as she presented the project looking quite smart. The way her lips moved as she spoke made everyone wonder who she was really. They all stared awed at her braveness to talk to the CEO like that, she didn't even blink an eye lid. A round of applause was heard, and Alec just nodded his head, a slight smirk forming on the
Alec's eyes darkened immediately making her shiver in fear, oh my, what has she done. Her palms sweaty, sweat forming in the corner of her forehead. "What in the heck are you talking about?" His cold voice penetrated into her body. Slowly, she stepped back, tears threatening to fall down. "How would you cheat on Haylee?" The tears flowing down. He was shocked or let's just say surprised. He stared at her for some minutes, he sighed "I have nothing going on with Haylee, understood?" His voice was cold. She blinked her eye lids in confusion, weren't they married or something? she squeezed her face as she stared around. He sighed. "Leave." She nodded, she had to go home or else, she didn't knew what would happen after that, she reached for the door knob and twisted it before she left the room in a hurry. He sat down on the CEO chair before fishing out his phone. "Hello." The call connected in a go. "Sir." A stern voice was heard from the background. "Fine out all the information

One year later,Thanksgiving day.The room smelt like any other thanksgiving room, roasted turkey, cream, salad and a bunch of people sipping wine. The dinner was about to start, and soon everyone was going to be saying what they were thankful for.Zoey recounted, she didn't even know where to begin, just one year ago, her life had changed ever so much. Perfectly well, it had gone along.Dexter came into her life, Rafael stumbled in, and oh, she didn't know how, but they both loved her daughter so much, well. Zara better get used to having two overprotective fathers.Miranda, Stella and Zoey have become quite the inseparable trio, having tea on Mondays, hitting the gyms, and gossiping about their husbands.Presently, Zoey was sprawled on the bed, her hands swiping through her phone, just waiting for it to be ringing, finally it chimed. She swiped it up immediately."Stella!" She beams, cheeks pink. "How's the baby moon going? Is Mexico alright?"Stella's voice sounded so angelic from
Two Months later."Zoey hurry! We don't want to be late for Sky's concert. Do we?" Stella yells from the bedroom, her gaze directed at the dressing room."Coming! Just trying to get the zipper on, damn, it's too hard!" Zoey yells back.Stella takes in a little giggle, and stares outside the room, the view is perfect, she could see the sun set even from here. She was having a giddy feeling today, but it didn't sum up her excitement.Today was Sky's first concert after his music block has been overcomed and he was singing his new song. People are flooding all over Los Angeles just to hear his voice, She, Zoey and the rest already got their tickets. She couldn't wait to see him sing after his music block. Excitement is washing over her. She can't wait.Zara enters the room, a smile on her face. "Aunt Stella!" She throws herself towards her."How was your night? Little Pumpkin?" Stella nudges her hair playfully, her hands moving to tickle her."It's fine." Zara scrunched her nose, before
Even though one week had passed and everything seemed to be moving well, Zoey still felt this urge: sinking and swimming through her, prompting her to see her mother in jail, so that's why early in the morning, she got into her Sedan and drove towards the lane."What do you want?" The receptionist barked at her, her face gruff, prison was not a good place, no doubt. It smelt of stale coffee, the place looks rugged, like criminals had been jacked into this place, struggling to get inside."I want to see my mother." Zoey made to speak again, but the angry looking woman waved her off."Sorry. Kid." The woman puffed her cigar in between her hands, "But visiting hours are over, if you would please return later, I am sure you would be entertained with whoever you want to meet."The woman is really rude, no doubt, but Zoey doesn't want to leave without seeing her mother. Sometimes, your name is very important, and if using that name would get her what she wants. Then, why the heck not?She
The whole room felt so small as Zoey ran past them, it was like oxygen was racking her spine as she counted the rooms. Her breath was short-lived, she could only pray under her breath."Zara!" She calls out, fear evident in her voice, the pain of losing her own daughter sends tears to her eyes. The hall was stretched out, too many rooms. The stairs looking back at her.She stopped at the living room, she could feel the throbbing in her head."Zara! Please come out. Please." She just stood there rooted, it was like the alarm was buzzing in her head: countdown, five, four..Sweat clanged the corner of her hair, she checked her father's study, it looked rather untouched. Her father's favorite novel, 'Rich man, poor man,' sat there elegantly on the table. Hope. It needled through her, then vanished into thin air. She called again, this time more loudly, perhaps her daughter might hear her. "Zara!" The room was eerily quiet. With lost hope, she just stood there, she would rather blow with
The next day came rather too quickly, and like her mother used to say when she was young: You just have to face it.So, when she sprang up from the bed, she kissed Dexter on the forehead gently before heading downstairs. Rafael was by the counter making cereal for her daughter while balancing a cup of coffee on one hand."Ready for the big day, huh?" He hands her a cup, while gently pouring the milk into the bowl, Zara watches with her eyes fluttering."It's funny how you made it sound so casual." Zoey says casually, everything has been planned, they are all meeting up in her father's house. Nova, her husband, Alec and his wife, Stella and Sky. Miranda was going to meet them there.Zara shoves her spoon into the bowl, her mouth full of corn flakes. "Mother. Can I come with you? Pretty please?""Yes. Dexter and I will get the car ready, why don't Rafael pick out your dress, okay sweetheart?"She nods and focuses on her food, just by staring at her daughter makes her heart swell, the on
In life, you could be either lucky or unlucky, but there's no such thing as luck or not luck, it's the chance we have, it's the choice we get that defines us, not our luck, that's why as Lin sat down, fiddling with the hemline of her gown, she recalled all the choices she had got to make, and one of them dealt with forgiving her husband, Asher. He was only being threatened, he just wanted to protect her. He loves her, that's why he wanted to protect, because for the person you love, you could go through extreme lengths just to make sure they were safe."Lin? Lin, are you listening to me?" Asher said, clutching the cup of coffee in one hand. She snapped out of her daydream, before staring around, waiting. What was he saying? She didn't even hear a thing."I was saying whether we should take the kids to Disneyland this year?" That was one thing she would always love about him, his ability to remember anything."But Mommy, we went to Disneyland last year!" Her seven year old daughter wai
Stella had imagined countless things in her life, but here she was. Seating opposite her parents with Sky by her side, this time. She wasn't scared, hope brimmed in her chest, because with him she felt strong, she felt like somebody."You want to date him?" Her mother said, under those lashes of hers, her words held some kind of deep warning, "What about Doctor Rodriguez?"Her father dropped the spoon on the plate, the metallic sound filling their eyes. "Stella dear. You can't go out with him. He's not for-""I didn't come here for your approval." Her tone sent them all warning, Sky placed his hand on her shoulder, his gaze, a reassuring one. He turned towards her parents."I am Sky. Well, I dated your daughter, until you threatened me to leave her, I fell in love with her, again. I fell hard, I am still falling for her. She makes me, she completes me. I love her so much."Neither of them blinked."And I am sorry, but you can't stand in the way of our love," He breathed in, "She helpe
Loud chattering filled the room, kids chasing each other, muttering words under their breath, some kids sprawled on the neat blue rug, playing with their toys. The kitchen linked to the living room, some adults were leaning against the island, each gripping a glass of wine. There's some muttering, no laughter here, just clear talking.Relax. Zoey's head throbbed, but she just couldn't. Dexter's hand was placed on hers, it was warm, at least that made her calm down a little, but still. She wanted to sprang up the seat, and protect those she loved, her mind reeled. To her mother's word, to Lin's words.Thankfully, Zara was talking to her cousin 'Damien', they seemed to be arguing though, but hey, it was her daughter."Everybody." Natasha clicked the glass, the whole room went silent. The kids stopped and turned to look at her, immediately she received the call, she didn't know what prompted her to call Natasha, Natasha was soothing on the other end, and they agreed to call a meeting.Li
