"Hello, sir,” she said, trying to speak to him. She could tell he was injured just by looking at his unusually pale face and the cold beads of sweat on his forehead. "Sir, I can help you,” she said as she opened the back door to check on his injury. “What are you doing?!” she asked as she dodged his attack and immediately held him down. She easily subdued him because he was injured. “I want to help you, sir,” she said, but he quickly moved his body to the other side to protect something that was covered up on the car seat. "Sir, you can trust me; I promise to help you,” she pleaded softly, and the man turned his face towards her. They locked eyes for a few seconds before he finally moved closer to her without any hostility. “Please move closer so I can have a better view.” She breathed a sigh of relief as he moved closer, making the thing he was protecting visible. “Is the baby okay?” she asked, quickly making her way to the other side of the car and opening the door to check on the baby. “I think he is fine.” She is startled by the deep voice and raises her head to look at the man. After checking the baby and making sure that he was just sleeping, she helped the man to lean on the seat properly, then took off his shirt to check his injuries. “The first-aid box is in the booth,” he said weakly. She immediately gets out of the car to get it from the booth. She skillfully took out the bullets from his back and shoulder. She was surprised that he was shot only twice while the driver was shot several times. “I am the one they are after; I was supposed to drive, but the baby kept crying and refused for anyone to touch him, so I had no choice but to call one of my company's drivers to take me home,” he explained while leaning weakly on the couch. “Sir, how..” She was interrupted by the ringing of a phone, probably the man's own. The ringing seemed to have startled the baby, and he started crying. It is a miracle that he didn't wake up during the shootout. Amira moved closer to the baby and lifted him off the seat into her hands. She observed the baby's features and noticed that he didn't have any resemblance to the man. “Seb, the car's GPS is on.” He could only say this before he rested weakly on the seat. He turned to Amira, took off the amulet he was wearing on his neck, and handed it to her. Then he passed out due to exhaustion. Half an hour later, she heard the sounds of moving vehicles and immediately became alert. She looked through the window and saw five black SUVs stopping behind the car they were in. A young man, probably in his late twenties, came down and knocked on our car window.When he saw that no one was answering, he gestured to one of his companions to break the window. Amira became flustered, as the glass shards could injure her if the window was broken. She immediately lowered the glass, and the people outside had shocked looks on their faces when they saw her. When they saw the baby in her arms, they immediately became alert. “Ummm, he gave me this.” She immediately spoke up and showed them the amulet. As soon as they saw it, they all became at ease. “We are here to help, so you can open the door now,” the first man said. She nodded and unlocked the doors. They immediately opened the door and carried the injured man out, while I followed them with the baby in my arms. “Clean the place up and take the driver's body to his people. Ensure he is given a proper funeral. Tell them that Boss will come and pay his respect soon,” he told the men before entering the same car we were in. After an hour of speeding, the car slowed down, and she looked out of the window curiously. Her eyes immediately became watery when she saw the name of the hospital. She had a lot of memories of this place. SPRINGFIELD HOSPITAL. The place where she spent all her time working hard to impress the man she thought loved her. The same man made her live a miserable life, which led to her suicide. “Are you okay?” the man who came to pick them up asked. “I am fine, sir,” she replied, then turned to look at the side mirror and saw her tear-stained face.She must have cried subconsciously. “I am really okay; I just remembered something sad,” she explained awkwardly while wiping her tears. The injured man was taken to the emergency room, and they had to wait outside. “What is your motive?” the man suddenly asked. “I don't understand what you mean, sir,” she replied without showing any expression on her face. “I am asking what your motive is for getting close to the boss.” He repeated it with a domineering tone. I was probably expecting her to cower in fear. “If you are trying to intimidate me, I am sorry to disappoint you, sir, but it isn't working,” she said with a chuckle at the end. “So, you are telling me that you just happened to be in that area at the time and that it was just all a big coincidence?” he asked again, not believing her. “I just happened to escape from death and bump into them,” she said while maintaining eye contact with him. “What do you mean by escaped death?” he asked again. “You would make a good prosecutor, you know?” She smirked at him. “Just answer the damned question, '' he said. Probably losing his patience. I wonder why he was so worked up. She thought. “I was supposed to come to the city to reunite with my father, but the driver took that route because he was ordered by my stepmom to kill me, but I figured it out and killed him instead. End of story,” she said while smiling at him as if they were talking about the weather. He brought out his phone and made a call to the people he left to clean up the scene. "Carl, check around the area; get back to me if you see any car with a dead man in them,” he said while looking at her suspiciously. “If I find out that you lied, you will be tortured until you tell the truth,” he said menacingly. He takes the baby from her arms, then turns towards the bodyguards. “Lock her up in the empty room on the top floor and make sure she doesn't escape,” he ordered, and the men immediately dragged her into the elevator.Shocked The guards dragged her to an empty room and locked the door.“How annoying; I should have just minded my business,” she muttered with a frown before sitting down in a corner.Meanwhile, the baby wouldn't stop crying, no matter what the man did. He had to even take him to a doctor to check if there was anything wrong with him.“The baby is perfectly healthy, and there is definitely nothing wrong,” the doctor said after a series of checks.“So you are telling me that he is just crying for no reason?” The man asked angrily.The doctor just bowed his head in fear, as he didn't want the man to take his anger out on him.“Sir, if you don't mind me asking,was there someone else holding him before you took him?” The doctor asked with a whisper-like voice.“Yes, what does that have to do with anything?” The man asked with a deep frown.“Babies have a way of choosing who to get along with and who they want to be around. So he must be crying for that person, and I will advise you to cal
Leo's POV I just stared at the little lump of flesh that had fainted out of fright. Seb called for a doctor, and she was placed on the bed next to mine.“Who is she?” Camilla asked with a curious voice.“She is the one that saved my life,” I replied to her while staring at the unconscious girl.“Seb, what did you find out about her?” I asked with a serious tone.“Her name is Amira Davis; she is the daughter of Johnson Davis, the CEO of Davis Enterprises. She is 18 years old and was returning to the city from the country side,” Seb reported without delay.I just nodded and turned to look at the girl again. The image of the brave little girl who saved my life was still very fresh in my memory.“Umm, boss, there is actually something else,” Seb said with a hesitant tone.“What is it?” I asked him with a frown.“She also has the amulet,” he said with a hesitant voice.“Are you sure of what you are saying?” I asked with a shocked expression.“That means she is the one,” Camilla said while
Amira’s POV I just kept staring out of the car window as the driver drove towards the Davis mansion. So many things are different; even the fashion trend is backwards. My brain was busy formulating a plan on how I would use the knowledge from my previous life to dominate in this new life.“You seem lost." Seb’s voice came from the front passenger seat.His voice pulled me out of my thoughts, and that was when I realized that we were already in front of a mall.“Why are we here? You don't need to get me the phone; I don't like owing favors,” I said without getting out of the car.“We are the ones that owe you a favor for saving our boss's life,” he said with a smile.“But apart from getting you a new phone, I don't think that you want to go home looking like this,” he said while pointing a finger at me.I looked at my dress and noticed that there were blood stains on it, and it was quite glaring.“Okay, let's go,” I said, getting out of the car. We walked into the mall, and he asked
Amira’s POV As soon as we entered the mansion, we noticed a large gathering of people in the sitting room.“My poor child!”“Only God knows the terrible things that must have happened to her.”“I have been preparing for her arrival for days now, but how would I have known that fate had other plans for us?”Just from the annoyingly high-pitched voice alone, I already knew that it was definitely my stepmother being a drama queen as usual.I gestured for Seb to stop so that I could observe what was going on properly.“Young man, are you sure that the car you saw belongs to my family?” My father asked the young man in front of him."Yes, sir, I am one hundred percent sure that it's your car. The late driver and I used to be very good friends.I saw how the car was attacked by bandits, and everyone inside was killed,” the young man said.He was clearly lying, but his tone was quite convincing. He turned around to whisper something to one of the men behind him, and that was when I saw his
Amira’s POV I really didn't expect Sasha to make such a vicious move on my first day. I definitely wasn't going to allow myself to die so easily. I was thinking of how to stop myself from getting hurt when I suddenly felt a strong hand around my waist.After taking a deep breath, I turned to see Sebastian's worried face as he stared at me without blinking."Thanks, Seb; I am fine,” I said before turning around to glare at Sasha.She immediately hid behind her mother, who was also glaring at me maliciously.“Thank you so much for saving my daughter again,” my father said while checking my body for possible injuries.“I am fine, father; I didn't fall,” I said, but it didn't ease his tensed expression.“Don't you know that it is not safe to run on the stairs? I know the house you grew up in doesn't have this, but you need to learn this for your safety,” my stepmom said with an expression that showed nothing but concern.I got the message anyway; she might be able to fool my father, but
Leo's POV “Cam, go get ready for the Giovanni’s party,” I said to my sister, who was starting to get on my nerves.“I brought a dress for the party, and I also got a suit for you,” she said with a smirk.“You really think you are smart, right?” I asked with a tired sigh.“I don't see anything wrong with spending a little time with my big brother,” she said with a slight grin, which intensified my headache.“Just tell me what you want already,” I said with an irritated voice.“I want you to get her admission to my school,” she said with a pleading tone.“Her? You mean Amira?” I asked with a surprised tone, as I wasn't expecting her to make such a request.I was expecting her to ask for more money or beg me to take away her bodyguards, but not this.“I really like her, and she is not scared of me like the others. I will also be able to keep an eye on her for you,” she said in one breath.“I will have a word with Mr. and Mrs. Giovanni about her admission,” I assured her with a smile.“I
Amira’s POV “Hello, I know that I am handsome, but you don't need to be so stunned,” Bryan said with a cocky smile.His voice snapped me out of my shock, and I just scoffed at him.“You wish,” I said with a sneer, and his expression immediately changed.“Amira, why are you being rude to him? I brought my friend to meet you, but you are being rude to him. Do you know who he is?” Sasha asked angrily.“He is probably an asshole that wants to get into your pants,” I replied with an innocent smile.“You better watch your mouth, bitch, or I will.”“You will what punk?” Camilla's voice interrupted him from behind us.I turned around to see her holding two glasses of wine with a very angry expression.“She was the one that was being rude to me,” he explained with a frightened expression.I can't believe I fell in love with such a punk in my last life. Well, in my defense, he was more mature than he is now.“Didn't I just warn you to stay away from her?” Cam asked Sasha, who was looking scare
Leo's POV When I saw Mrs. Talkoa wailing, I knew that they must have gotten the news of their son's death.Mr. Talkoa’s face was really satisfying to look at, and I couldn't help giving him a slight smirk.“I will kill you!” He rushed over angrily and pointed his gun at my head. I knew he didn't have the guts to pull the trigger, as he clearly knows what end will await his entire family if he acts so stupidly.I didn't have to say anything, and I just kept staring at him with a smile. Seb and five other men came in and pointed their guns at his wife, who was already shivering in fear.“I have no idea why your gun is pointed at me, but I will give you until the count of three to get your little toy off my face,” I said with a calm tone.“My son knew nothing about my plans,” he said with an emotional voice."1,” I started counting without even giving him a glance.“You really think that you are untouchable, huh?” He said this with his eyes now turning red."2,” I said with the same cal
Sasha's POV “Hello everyone” I greeted weakly, and they all cast sympathetic gazes at us.“Don't be afraid, Mrs. Davis; we are here to make sure you get the justice that you deserve,” one of the reporters said with a firm tone, and the others nodded in agreement.I gave my mother a signal to speak, and she weakly held the microphone with tears threatening to fall out of her eyes.“My story is all over the internet; the pain and injustice that I had to bear is known to everyone. I ask the people to give me justice so that I can live the remaining half of my life in peace,” she said, and I handed her a handkerchief to wipe her tears.“Miss Davis, your mother said you have kidney problems?” A female reporter asked, and I gave a pitiful nod.“You said that Miss Amira is not a part of your family and that her mother ruined your relationship by pinning another man's child on your fiance; please can you elaborate?” Another reporter asked.“My husband and I had been dating since high school;
Sasha's POV I looked at the online comments and everything was in our favor. I felt immense satisfaction from seeing the numerous insults directed at Amira and her mother.“Dear, are you ready?” My mom's voice came from outside the door.I immediately opened the door and saw her in the worn-out clothes that I specifically got for the press conference.“Come in, Mom, let me help with your makeup.” I stepped aside to let her in.She seems quite nervous, which I find really annoying. I am tired of explaining the importance of this press conference to us. We can get everything we ever wanted and quietly leave the country to start our lives all over.“I dreamt of your father last night” she said and started sobbing again.He deserved what happened to him; he wanted to throw us in the streets to fend for ourselves.I couldn't help remembering everything that happened that day.FLASHBACK!Two days after I kidnapped Amira, my father came home in anger. I don't know how he found out about it
Amira’s POV I went back to the house, and Anna directed me to a room that had been specially arranged for me.“Feel at home, dear,” she said with a smile, and I smiled back and nodded my head before closing the door.I had to prepare for school resumption; my things were still in the Davis family house, so I had to go get them.I decided to go to the Davis house tomorrow morning, as it was already too late for me to go there now.Knock knock!Half an hour later, there was a sudden knock on the door, and I immediately opened it.I saw Asher standing outside with a polite smile.“Can I come in?” He asked me, and I took a step to the side to let him in.“Is there something that you need my help with?” I asked him after closing the door.“Not really, I just wanted to let you know that the school you were attending before had some issues, and as a result of these issues, it has been shut down.All students are to transfer to new schools, and my father wants me to take care of your transfe
Amira’s POV We arrived at a huge villa and as soon as our car stopped, lots of people came out of the villa to greet us with smiles.“Welcome home princess” A woman rushed forward and held me in a tight hug.“Um …hello” I said with a smile when she finally pulled away from me.“Welcome home” “She has her mother's eyes”“Massimo will be so happy”Everyone stared at me, the men were happy while the women were doing their best to control their tears.“Come on everyone, let's go inside” Anna said and we all went into the villa.As soon as I stepped in, I saw a table filled with different cuisines.“We didn't know what you would like, so we made a lot” the woman that hugged me earlier said while looking at me with a doting expression.She has this motherly aura that makes one comfortable and relax.“Let's eat first” Carlos said with a smile and we all headed to the dining area.The table couldn't contain everyone, so some had to sit on plastic chairs.“Is she here already?” A girl's voic
Amira’s POV I took a deep breath and slowly walked down the stairs. I heard cheerful voices coming from the sitting room.“Oh, here she is; this is my niece Amira." My uncle introduced me with a smile.“Dear, this is the heir to the Alfredo family, Zain Alfredo and his parents,” he said to me as he led me to the sofa while still maintaining his gentle smile.“You can sit with Zain." He wasted no time and immediately pushed me towards the young man, who has been quiet all since I entered the room.I sat down close to the man and observed him for a while. He is quite handsome and has an overwhelming aura, but he was nothing compared to my Leo.“She is really beautiful, and with the combination of hers and my son's genes, my grandchildren will be a sight to behold,” Madam Alfredo said with a smile.This old lady must be very sick. I haven't even agreed to marry her son, but she is already talking about grandchildren.“Who says I am going to marry your son?” I asked her with a frown.As
Amira’s POV I have been here for a week now, but no one from the Davis family has called to check up on me. I guess they don't care about my life or death.My uncle's family treats me very well; the servants are polite, and his wife and daughter are always welcoming, but I always have a strange feeling deep down in my heart that I can't explain.“Mimi, let's go watch a movie." Joan's voice came from outside, and I quickly tidy up before she pushed the door open.Sometimes, I feel like she was just here to monitor everything that I do. I started having this feeling after I saw her snooping through my phone.“I am ready, let's go,” I said with a smile as we walked out of my room and headed for the'movies room’ as she calls it.She said that she loved to watch movies a lot, so my uncle built her a personal cinema at home. Oh, did I forget to mention that she brags a lot? She does it subtly, but I think she always feels the need to remind me who the through princess was in the family.W
Leo's POV I felt so frustrated and angry as I have been trying to get through to Amira. I don't know what nonsense that bastard has filled her head with already to make her avoid my calls.“Boss, we are almost at the Gattuso mansion,” Seb informed me with a serious tone.I had to go home first to get more of my men to follow me because Ivan wasn't an easy person to deal with, but if he lays a finger on my sister, I will personally send him to hell.As soon as the car stopped at the entrance of the mansion, the armed men guarding the mansion immediately became alert as they directly pointed their guns at us.But I wasn't in the mood to deal with some useless guards, so I just moved towards the entrance of the mansion, and just as I had guessed, none of them fired.“Put down your guns; do you know who he is?” An old man's voice came from the side, and I glanced in the fire and saw the butler, whom I was very familiar with.“Uncle Mike,” I greeted him out of formality.“It's good to see
Cam’s POV The last thing I remember was going out of the house to buy Angelo's food. I kept trying to figure out what was going on and who would want to kidnap me.I stared at the two men in front of me; their auras were very strong, their eyes were cold, and there was a strong killing intent in them.I knew that even if I tried to fight my way out of this, there was no chance of success, so I decided to go with the flow until I found a good opportunity.We were in the car for about two hours before it came to a sudden stop. The two men got down and pulled me out of the car.As soon as I saw the familiar villa in front of me, I froze in shock and immediately started struggling to get away from there.The men forcefully dragged me into the mansion and threw me into a room. I looked around the room, and tears flowed down my cheeks rapidly.No…no….noI repeatedly shook my head; it was just a dream, and I will wake up soon. I kept repeating this sentence over and over again in my mind as
Amira’s POV My head felt so heavy as I tried to open my eyes; it took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust to the light.The first thing that came into my view was a white ceiling. I immediately sat up to observe the surroundings.I was on a huge bed in a very luxurious room; from the decorations alone, I knew that nothing in this room was cheap.I carefully got down from the bed and walked towards the door, but before I could get to it, I heard footsteps from outside, and it was followed by the jingling sounds of keys.I hurried back to the bed and pretended to be asleep. The door was opened, and the footsteps gradually approached the bed.The bed sank in as the person sat on the bed.“I know you are awake,” a man's deep voice came from beside me.I couldn't just continue to pretend to be asleep, so I immediately sat up with a fierce expression. I had to be prepared for any unexpected situation.I looked at the man's face, and I was too stunned to react for a while. I just kept stari
