Chapter 4

With tears in her eyes, Iris crawled her way to her clothe, slip it on before limping out of the room.

She wiped the tears and tried to act as if nothing happened, but she couldn’t hide her limp.

“Did you get a good fuck out of him?” She knew that voice.

She turned around to see Athena sneering at her.

“What do you want?” She snapped.

“I already told you to give up on my son and look for you own mate, the poor soul will be out there thinking he would be blessed with a chaste wolf.

“He won’t know you are here, busy throwing yourself at my son, like the whore you are.”

Iris tightened her fist, she so desperately want to hit this woman across her cheek, but she know Lucas so well.

He won't take it lightly with her.

"I won't stay here one more time and let you insult or walk over me," she turns around to leave, when Athena next word made her halt.

“You will be nothing but a mean for him to release all his pent-up desires, you can never be his mate.

“He would throw to the dogs once he finds his real mate, I would love to see you hold your head high then.”

The left corner of Athena’s lip lifts in a cynical smile, she walked away, making sure to bump her shoulder on Iris’s.

To say Iris was shocked would be an understatement, she picked up the hem of her dress, not minding the pain in between her leg, she ran the rest of the distance to her room.

She closed the door and walked to the mirror to stare at her reflection.

Undoubtedly, she was the most beautiful woman in Death crawler pack, and the most beautiful in the whole of Toronto.

"You will never be his mate," Athena voice rang in her ear

"Arrgg," the sound of the mirror shattering filled the room.

“I don’t care if he my mate or not, I will have him at all costs.’

She paced around the room, different thought running through her head.

’Lucas is mine, and mine alone. I will kill anyone that tries to get their claws on him or try to take him away from me,” her eyes turn black.

’Including you Athena,’ her chest heaved. ’I will kill you with my hand if I have to.’

BH hospital, Toronto.

’Some should get Doctor Bella, this patient is losing much blood,’ someone screamed from a ward.

The whole hospital seems to be in disarray, as different screams and yelling fill up the place. The rapid beeping of machine filled the ears of every individual waiting in the hallway.

While some were waiting to hear either good or bad news from the doctors, some were wailing so hard, with people trying to comfort them.

The sound of feet padding around the hall in a hurry became a normal thing to everyone on the hospital.

This has been going on for a week now, the doctors were doing their best to save as many as they were capable of saving.

’Where is doctor Bella?’ the same voice asked again.

’Kevin,’ Bella soft voice called. ’What is the matter?’ she asked.

’I have been trying to stop her bleeding for a while now, it just won’t stop,’ Kevin groan.

Bella moved to the patient side, she was about to say something, when her scent hit her.

She looked down at the patient, and knew at once that she is wolf, buy she couldn’t place what pack she belongs to.

’Leave us,’ she ordered.

’Are you sure? don’t you need our help with anything?’ Kevin narrowed his eyes at her.

’I will be fine Kevin, I can’t have the two of us here when there are others who would need your help,’ she stared at him.

’Go, I will be fine here,’ she assured him.

He threw his hand in the air, huffing.

’I can never win when it comes to you,’ he said with a pout, before walking out.

She smiled at his childishness and walked over to the door. Once she was sure he is gone, she shut the door tightly, before walking back to the wolf side.

’What is your name?’ Bella asked.

’Mira,’ she whispered.

’Okay Mira, I need you to tell me what happened?’ she asked.

’I don’t know, they were so fast and it was so sudden,’ Mira explained, a little out of breath.

’What do you mean?’ she frowned.

’They attacked our pack without any notice, we weren’t prepared for it, they were so brutal,’ she sobbed.

Bella pull her into a hug, comforting her.

’They killed both the old and young ones without sparing anyone, I was lucky enough to escape but not without sustaining this injury.’

’Why are you not healing?’ she looked down at the wound that still refuse to close up.

’I don’t know, I think they are using something on us, that is preventing us from healing.’

’I am going to inject you so you can sleep, while I run different test on you to know what they use to keep you from healing.’

Mira nod her head.

Bella moved away from her, and open a little door that was in the ward. She stepped in for a few minutes, before walking out with an injection in her hand.

''I don't have to assure you it won't hurt, because I know you won't even feel it,'' she stepped closer to Mira, pushing the tip of the needle into the side of her neck.

''When will I fall asleep?'' Mira asked.

''You should fall asleep right now,'' she stared down, and found her already sleeping.

She got to work, checking all her vitals, and examining the wound for traces of silver, but found none.

She drew a little blood out of her and tested it herself. She didn’t want to risk putting the humans in danger, by letting them know about her and her kind

The blood analyser pinged, and she pull out the sample, she drops a little on a clean slate, before placing it under the microscope.

What she saw made her jump away from it at once

“Cursed oil,” she whispers.
