The thoughts that she had drowned and came to the afterlife caused her feet to wobble. She was dead, she was already dead and her Dad had come to welcome her to the hereafter. Oh, no! She was not supposed to die, she was not supposed to die yet. She still had lots of things she had not done yet.
"Why? Why did you die?" She questioned herself as her eyes misted. She could not believe she had died and not long ago, she was celebrating her victory for escaping death meanwhile she was already dead. Her beloved fans would be really sad, top star May Edwards was already dead. "Why?" She bawled out.
"Lady Audree, what is wrong with you? Please, don't cry." The young lady tried to console her although she had no idea why she suddenly started crying.
May sniffled as she looked at the young lady in front of her wondering why she had been calling her Lady Audree. "Why do you keep calling me Lady Audree?"
The young lady blinked as she arched her brows. "That's your name, Audree. I call you Lady Audree because i am your personal maidservant."
May shook her head as she waved her hand at her. "No, my name is May Edwards."
The young lady gasped as she covered her mouth with her hands. "Did you hit your head somewhere?" What was happening to her Lady? She suddenly went missing and now she was claiming to be someone else. "Don't tell me you don't remember me? Your favourite maidservant and bestfriend, Arin." Arin asked to be sure if her Lady even remembered her since she seem to have hit her head and suddenly forgotten about herself.
"Arin?" May called as she touched her head. She could feel her head already spining, she'd had too many surprises today and she was not ready for this one. The young lady kept talking about how she had served her since childhood till this moment and all May could do was stand quietly and watch her as she kept talking nonstop.

Sir Ignatio Roy entered the consultation chamber putting on his official robe which was a sign to show that he was a part of the King's officials. He had received a news that his oldest daughter was caught spying on the third prince and knowing who the third prince was, he had to rush here before the King of no mercy hurts his daughter. Though, he was sure they could have been mistaken, he had faith in his daughter that she would never do something that scandalous, she was not the type of person to do such.
"Greetings to the great King." He bowed low as he greeted the King.
King Lucius who was gracefully sitting on the high chair made of gold and was specially made for him gestured for Sir Roy to rise up.
"Ignatio, what brings you here?" He inquired.
"My King, I received a letter from the grand castle that my daughter, Audree was caught spying on the third prince and is currently held in prison. I have come here to beg for mercy on behalf of her, please bestow on me your abundant mercy." Sir Roy spoke as he bowed before the King pleading on behalf of his daughter.
The King purred as he looked at Sir Roy then he replied. "Spying on the prince is a grave offence but i believe it will be just if we listen to the people involved in it before passing judgment."
"My King." The watchman from outside called. "Princess Ingrid is here to see you." He informed the King.
"Let her in." The King gave his permission and she was allowed to enter the consultation chamber.
Princess Ingrid walked elegantly into the consultation chamber. "Greetings to the great King." She bowed before the King paying her respect to him then she turned to face Sir Roy.
"I came here to report the Roy's oldest daughter but i am sure Sir Roy must have informed you about his daughter's offence."
"Yes, he had already informed me about it but i am not going to pass any judgment yet until i hear from both sides." The King said then he turned to look at the guards at the hall. "Bring the third prince and Roy's oldest daughter here immediately." He ordered.
The guards bowed before they went to carry out the King's order.

Arin stood at the prison gate wondering why her Lady had not said a word for a while then she heard footsteps approaching. "I'll have to leave, milady. It seems like the guards are approaching here. I actually sneaked in here so it won't be a good thing if they see me here. Make sure you do not say a word and do not tell anyone about your memory loss. Don't worry, your Father will take care of everything." She said before she ran out of the prison leaving May's hand hanged in midair in a failed attempt to stop her from leaving.
Three huge men in armour entered the prison then they unlocked the prison gate.
"Come out." One of those men said opening the gate for her.
May came out from the prison wondering who these men were. They wore a body armour making them look like ancient warriors and she wondered why she had been using the word 'ancient' lately.
"Come with us." The same man who spoke before instructed her to follow them.
"Where?" She had to know where they were taking her to but then she remembered what Arin had said that her Dad was here so these men were probably the afterlife guards, they were probably taking her to see her Dad. She quietly followed them.
And as she stepped out from the prison, the sights of tall buildings made of ivory walls welcomed her. There was a big fountain in the middle of a garden surrounded by green grasses and different kinds of colourful flowers, it was truly a beautiful sight. As she looked at the buildings, they reminded her so much of a historical movie she watched a long time ago, she couldn't even remember the name of the movie. They walked past several tall buildings which looked more like a tower. Oh, god! What kind of place is this?
She turned to one of the guards who looked less intimidating and decided to ask about this place. "Where is this place? The afterlife palace?"
The guard paused as he looked at her in a confused manner before answering her question. "This is the grand castle."
"Grand castle." She repeated as she kept looking around, admiring the beautiful grand castle. 'This must be where the King of the deceased resides, then her Dad must probably be an elder in the afterlife.' She thought.
They stopped in front of a building and a middle aged man standing at the door announced her presence still calling her by the name 'Lady Audree.' That made her furrow her brows before entering the building - the consultation chamber.
There, she saw a man who seemed to be in his late fifties dressed in a robe and standing at her right hand side. At her left, she saw the annoyingly gorgeous young man who wielded a sword at her and the young lady who came to the prison talking about a crime she committed. There were also some men in robes sitted on a small wooden chair, writing down something. 'They are probably the afterlife journalists.' She thought.
Then she looked at the man sitted on the high chair made of gold with a crown on his head indicating that he was the King. Now, she could finally table her complaints to him.
She stood at the center as she didn't know what to do next. Was she to bow to him or not? The way they were all looking at her made her uncomfortable. The man in his fifties standing at the right gestured for her to do something but she didn't quite understand what he was trying to tell her. She then decided to just bow to the King since they all bow to Kings in those historical movies.
"All hail His Majesty." She bowed her head before the King.
Everyone except the third prince slightly opened their mouth as they looked at the young lady who had just hailed the King.
May raised her head to see everyone looking at her. What? Did she mess up? Just when she thought of saying something else, the King bursted into laughter causing the people to stare at him in disbelief.
"You must be Audree. I have heard a lot about you." The King said after laughing to his heart content.
There they go again, these people kept calling her Audree. She opened her mouth to speak but got cut off by the King.
"However, i heard you committed a grave offence. You were caught spying on the prince, can you tell me what you were doing at the prince's chamber?"
May pressed her lips together, now was the time for her to table her complants to the King of the afterlife.
"I was attacked by some masked men while i was on earth, i had tried to escape but i got cornered and pushed off the bridge. But when i opened my eyes, i suddenly found myself at his chamber or whatever you guys call it. I didn't even know i was already dead and brought to the afterlife. And just as i tried to ask him where i was, do you know what he did? He wielded a sword at me, a real sword. When i was on earth, the only swords i've seen were the ones on TV. How do you expect me not to get frightened after seeing that sharp sword? I was scared so i fainted. As if that wasn't enough, when i woke up after fainting, i found myself in a cell. Why was i in a cell? Apparently, this young man standing right there locked me in a cell. I, top star May Edwards was locked in a cell, that was the height of it all. I've never been this disrespected, I've never been treated with such disrespect in my entire life. I feel so angry right now that i want to sue him for treating me so badly but I'm not going to complicate things so i hereby, demand for an apology from him." She finally finished explaining all that had happened to the King while she was still pointing at the third prince.
Meanwhile, everyone in the consultation chamber all had a confused reaction written on their faces, none of them understood a single word she had said.
Princess Ingrid scoffed as she glared at May. Although, she could not really understand her words but she was able to catch the last words she had spoken. "You must really be crazy. You have the gut to demand for an apology from the prince."
"Eh? You better. . ." And as May was about to give the Princess a witty reply, Sir Roy cut her off. She groaned angrily at how they kept cutting her off.
"Audree! Have you lost your mind?" Sir Roy scolded May before turning to the King.
"I apologise on behalf of my daughter, she must have lost her mind after she went missing for days. It is all my fault, i failed to train her well. Please bestow on us your Infinite mercy."
May stilled for a moment trying to understand what this man had just said to the King. Why did he call her his daughter? "Why am i your daughter?" She trailed off. Where was her Dad? That Arin girl said her Dad was here but she had not even seen him yet. But this man just called her his daughter and also called her by the name 'Audree.' Okay, this was getting really complicated and confusing. If this man who claimed to be her father was really her father then did that mean she wasn't in the afterlife? If she wasn't in the afterlife then where was she?
Princess Ingrid scoffed loudly at what Sir Roy had just spoken. "Even after disrespecting the Royal family, you're still seeking for mercy? Aren't you being shameless?" She said then she walked up to May. "Since you act as though you already loss your memory, i will be kind enough to remind you. You are in the grand castle of the kingdom of the great Wohsland and you are standing before the mighty King, King Lucius. Do you remember now? Or are you going to keep faking your memory loss. You dared lie before the King and spied on the third prince, that is a great disrespect to the Royal family, you won't be spared, you won't go home unpunished, you are done for."
The mischievous and playful seventh prince, Asher ran towards the princes resting area to inform the others of the news he had heard about a young lady caught spying on the third prince, Liam. He could not believe his ears when he heard the news that someone actually had the audacity to go to the third prince's chamber to spy on him despite being aware of the kind of person the third prince was. Even he, did not have the gut to go to the third prince's chamber without his permission. Among his six stepbrothers, he was really scared of the third prince because of his icy demeanor and plus, the third prince had always isolated himself from them making it difficult for them to even have a proper conversation with him but someone dared to spy on him. He could bet that person was probably dead by now, knowing the third prince's temper, he doubt the person would be able to leave the grand castle alive. "Big news!" Asher shouted the moment he entered the resting area causing the four princ
Her eyes widened as she watched him smile devilishly at her. Why does it feel like she had just walked into a trap? "Eh? You. . . ." "Audree!" Sir Roy called as he cut her off silently telling her to keep quiet. May wanted to protest but then she thought about it. Working as a maidservant for seven days was much better than being flogged but still. . . . But still, she could not bring herself to accept the punishment. The third prince turned to look at the King. "What do you think, my King?" The King heaved a deep sigh. "Well, i guess that is much better than being flogged hundred strokes." "Accept my sincere gratitude, my King." Sir Roy bowed as he thanked the King. King Lucius rose from his seat. "It is now settled. The Roy's oldest daughter, Audree will start working as the Third prince's personal maidservant as from tomorrow. You are all dismissed." The King dismissed them. Princess Ingrid gritted her teeth as she was annoyed at how the third prince didn't allow her to
Arin drew the curtain opened as the sun shone around the chamber revealing daylight. She turned and looked at her Lady who was still sleeping, she ought to have woken up by now especially when the third prince had punished her to work as his maidservant for seven days. She could not even protest because it was much better than being flogged hundred strokes of cane. That princess Ingrid was really mean, she knew that she had never liked Lady Audree but still, how could she suggest that her Lady should be flogged? Thank goodness, the third prince stepped in and showed her mercy which was unlike him. She had always known him to be the King of no mercy, that was what he was known for in the entire kingdom. Well, he did not exactly show her Lady mercy but at least he still prevented her from being flogged. "Lady Audree, it is time for you to wake up." Arin gently tapped May as she tried to wake her up. May yawned and stretched at the same time, she could not remember the last time she
"Hallelujah!" She didn't even know when she exclaimed loudly causing Arin and her new bodyguard to be startled. She could finally leave this kingdom, she could finally leave this strange land! 'Oh, ye Love bridge, here i come.' She thought as her lips curved into a smirk and as she was about to climb down from the carriage, Arin stopped her. "Where are you going?" She asked then she looked outside and realised they had gotten to the grand castle. "We are already in front of the grand castle, let's come down." May felt like she had just been pulled down from the clouds of excitement. Why now? Why did they reach the grand castle when she had finally found a way to go back? She climbed down from the carriage as she turned back to see her Love bridge. "It's time for you to enter the grand castle, my lady." Arin informed her. May furrowed her brows as she noticed these two were not coming with her into the grand castle. "Are you two not coming with me to the grand castle?" "I doubt
Gavin, Hadriel and Asher came out from their study chamber as they heaved a sigh of relief that they finally got to leave the boring class. They really did not like studying but they just have to because it was one of the duties of a prince. A prince must be knowledgeable and perfect in everything he does, that was the standard created for them and they were seriously finding it difficult to keep up with that standard. "Do we always have to attend lessons?" Asher whined as he especially did not like attending those boring classes when he always end up sleeping in class as he didn't understand what the teachers teach. "Let's skip class next time." Gavin suggested. "I'm sure the old man is already tired of seeing our faces since we keep repeating his class." He nonchalantly added causing Asher and Hadriel to laugh at what he had just said. And as they kept walking, they saw May a.k.a Audree heading towards their direction and they did not know why they momentarily halted when they
It was evening already. Arin and Lennon climbed down from the carriage as they waited for May a.k.a Audree to come out from the grand castle. May came out from the grand castle looking so exhausted. The head maidservant had made sure she washed dirty dishes all day without resting. Her legs were weak and her neck felt stiff from standing while washing those dirty dishes. How dare her treat a top star that way? She held her neck as she whimpered in pain. "Lady Audree!" Arin called but immediately frowned when she saw her Lady holding her neck as though she was in pain, she ran to her. "What is it? Why is your ear so red?" Arin asked in a worried manner as she touched May's ear. "Is it not that mean head maidservant, she dragged my ear." May whined like a baby as she reported the head maidservant to Arin. "That mean head maidservant, how dare her drag my Lady's ear? Don't worry, when we get home, I'll massage your body for you. Come, let's go home." Arin held her waist as she le
And at that moment May was about to fall into the river, Liam reached down and grabbed her at the waist, pulling her up into the saddle with him. May who was just pulled into the saddle was stunned by the Third prince's sudden action and she stared at him with wide eyes. And as their eyes met, she momentarily forgot how to breathe as she kept staring into those mesmerising eyes of his that she found it really hard to avert her gaze from him. It was as if she was trapped in his gaze and there was no way out. Looking at him up close, she realised just how beautiful this man was, he was just too gorgeous, too beautiful to be true that she found it really unfair how this one man could look this perfect. She subconsciously clung tightly as he continue riding for a bit before halting the horse. She was transfixed as she looked intently at his face, giving him a questioning look on why he halted when he suddenly dumped her on the ground. Heh, such a heartless prince! "Ouch!" May immedia
[ Seventeen Years Ago ] In the King's large resting area, the royal families and the Princes' teacher, headteacher Ralph were gathered there. The young Princes and the Princess sat on the left hand side, headteacher Ralph sat at the right while the King and his wives sat at the center. The King's second concubine cuddled the little prince, Asher on her lap. Headteacher Ralph was here to give reports about the princes' study to the King. It was more like an annual report whereby the headteacher would give reports on the princes performance for that year whether they did well in their studies or not. On a norms, this annual report was only meant to be heard by the King but today, the King had instructed his children and his wives to be gathered to hear the report. Headteacher Ralph got up from his seat and stood at the center, he bowed at them and began to give report on their performance, he started with the First prince. "The First prince is a really good listener and he always
May neatly arranged the food she had just prepared on a tray. Although the rice was slightly burnt but she was still confident in her food. She smiled as she stared at the works of art she had just prepared feeling proud of herself. Was there anything she wasn't good at? Even when she obviously had not prepared a meal before in her entire life, she was still able to prepare this delicious-looking work of art even the maidservants looked really astonished by her hidden cooking skills. She bet the Prince would end up licking the plate at how delicious her food was. She smiled again when she was done admiring her food, she carried the tray and headed to the Third prince's lounge. As May left the kitchen, the maidservants who all had a puzzled look on their faces began to murmur at how Lady Audree had almost burnt down the kitchen because she was cooking a strange food for the prince. On getting to the Third prince's lounge, she saw Hadriel, the Sixth prince peeping through the entran
May laid on her bed exhausted at today's activities. It was not as if she even did any chores today, she was just mentally exhausted. As she laid on her mattress, all the events that occured today flashed through her mind. Starting from when she tried to apologise to the Third prince, to when the Third prince shielded her from an arrow, to when she finally apologised, to the Third prince's chamber when he almost..., to the King's chamber and lastly, the large stable. The fact that all these happened in one day, she flushed when she recalled how they had almost kissed and she flushed even deeply when she remembered the words the Third prince had said to her at the stable. ["If that is the case, then keep taking advantage of me. Keep taking advantage of me until you get tired, Ms. Queen of no mercy. You are the only one allowed to take advantage of me."] "You are the only one allowed to take advantage of me." She smiled as she repeated the last words he said to her. "I'm the only one a
The Third prince stood at the large stable, staring at his favourite horse, Amigo. He had wanted to go for a ride to cool off these emotions he was feeling but now that he was here, he no longer had the will to go riding anymore. "Amigo." He called, stroking his horse. And as he stood there, the memories of what happened earlier replayed in his head. He had always been in control of his emotions, he had never showed anyone how pained, hurt and bruised he was but back there, while he watched her defend him, he just lost it. Those emotions he had always hidden, those emotions he had masked within him had just been unmasked by her. That Lady... how does she always manage to bring out that part in him he had thought was long gone? How does she always manage to bring out that self in him he thought he had buried in his heart? Just how? How could he feel this way because of some mere words she had spoken? Was that how lonely he was? Was that how love deprived he was that it felt like
May hopped excitedly still holding the Third prince's hand. She was happy at how she had successfully prevented him from getting punished. She smiled at how she managed to save him this time but as she turned and looked at the Third prince, her smile faded. Unlike her who was hopping in happiness because she saved him, he had a gloomy look on his face and he seemed lost in thoughts. She let go of his hand and cleared her throat to get his attention. "What is it? You don't look happy." Liam looked at the hand she had just let go missing the warmth of her hand. He never knew her hand was that warm until she stopped holding his hand. He raised his head and stared at the young lady giving him a look filled with concerns. May waved her hands at his face when she still did not get a reply from him. "What are you thinking about?" She asked. Seeing him looking all gloomy was just so unlike him, he was not even flashing those annoying smirk of his. "What's your deal?" He fina
A deafening silence reigned in the chamber as they watched the two persons holding hands and staring into each other's eyes. Princess Ingrid clenched her fist tightly that her knuckles had gone white already. Just staring at her holding Liam's hand irked her so much, how dare she... The King thought of what May had said regarding the Third prince. What the young lady said to him bothered him because he knew she was right. He had always had that mindset that the Third prince could harm his brothers. It was all because of that stupid prophecy, it was because of that prophecy that he had always seen the Third prince as a dangerous child that would one day rebel against his brothers and for that reason, he had treated the Third prince differently and ended up being wary of his own son. When did it get to this extent? The King closed his eyes as he felt ashamed of himself. The words the Roy's oldest daughter said to him struck him hard. He opened his eyes and let out a deep sigh. May
The Third prince entered the King's chamber. He met the Queen, Elora, General Nolan, the Crown prince and the Second prince already at the King's chamber. As he entered, they all looked at him as though they had been waiting for his arrival. Liam bowed at them and stood at the center ready to get scolded by them but before they could begin, the Eunuch announced the presence of Princess Ingrid. "Let her in." The King gave his permission and the Eunuch allowed the Princess into the chamber. She bowed and stood beside her brother, Logan. The King stared intently at the Third prince for a while before he began. "It came to my report that you shot an arrow at your brother, Logan. Is that true?" "Yes." Liam simply answered. The King sighed as he had expected that reply from the Prince. "Why did you do that?" Liam arched a brow a bit taken aback by the King's question. In the past, he wouldn't even care to listen to his own side of the story and just ruthlessly punish him but now, did
Amory came back from hunting, carrying two large squirrels he had caught in the forest. He thought he would see the other princes at the forest but he didn't even come across a single one of them and he wondered where they all went. Some of the Crown prince's guards who saw him rushed to where he was and bowed to him. "Your Royal Highness." "You may rise." He said, handing over the two squirrels to one of the guards. "I see you caught two large squirrels, your royal highness." One the guards said to the Prince. The Crown prince smiled and replied. "Well, i just got lucky today." He then turned to the guard he handed the squirrels to. "Take the squirrels to the kitchen and tell them to prepare a delicious meal for my wife." The guards all smiled knowing how much the Crown prince treasured his wife. "Yes, your royal highness." They bowed and as they turned to leave, the Crown prince called them back. "Hold on, where is the Crown princess?" He asked. "She is at her chamber." One

May stood outside the Third prince's chamber waiting for him to come out, he was taking so long just to button his shirt. She sighed as she recalled what happened in the chamber, she was so flustered that she ran out of the chamber. She shook her head. "Let's forget about it." She said to herself, touching her already reddened face. After she had managed to calm down, she looked at the entrance. What on earth was taking him so long? And just as she was about to enter into the chamber, he finally came out already dressed. His hair were slightly wet as though he had just taken a shower. Was he taking a shower all this while she was waiting for him? "Let's go." He said as he walked past her. She trailed behind, none of them saying a word. They both stopped walking when they heard a voice call the Third prince's name. "Liam!" Eugene called as she ran to him and hugged him. Her action left May's mouth opened in surprise. Who on earth was this person that could hug the Third prince t
