Not really having any work to do, the girls had had lunch together and spent the rest of their day simply talking. They didn’t talk about anything personal, that would trigger emotions, they revolved around other things and complaints about things of the society. When the bright sky became a hue, Sorcha decided it was high time she left. “Let us have a family meal soon, ehn?”
Starr nodded with a smile as she replied, “That sounds awesome. I would love that.”
Sorcha nodded and stood, picking her handbag.
“How is mom?” Starr had asked, “Is she doing good?”
Sorcha nodded. “Yes she is,” she replied, but quickly added, “Or she is acting like she is. One of the two.”
Starr felt her heart sink. “Soon, we would all see.”
“I am sure she would love that,” Sorcha replied with a nod. “See you soon sis.”
“And you too.”
“So, how was work today?” Christopher had Starr for the first time since they had been together, rinsing the large shrimp. “Hectic?” Starr shrugged as she stirred the tomato sauce. “Not really honestly. Sorcha came around, and all we really did was hang,” she replied him as she stirred at the shrimp he was frying, to decide it was time to shove him. “Yours? Productive?” It really gladdened Christopher’s heart that she was warming up to her sister. He thought it was beautiful. He shrugged also as he replied, “I guess. I was able to put down some words.” He smiled. Starr frowned a bit as she collected the frying pan Christopher had stretched to her, pouring the tomato sauce in it and stirring. “Some words? Not some sentences?” “It isn’t that easy, Love,” Christopher quickly defended himself. “And I wasn’t feeling that up to it, so I did a lot of deleting and rewriting.” Starr nodded, not replying him as she stirred the spaghetti into the sauce c
It was a chill morning, Starr was curled up to Christopher, his arm wrapped around her and her cream duvet covering them up. It felt so relaxing, they didn’t want to get up. “Aren’t you going to work today? Christopher had asked Starr as he tightened his grip around her, pulling her closer and unintentionally sniffing at her hair. He did like how it smelt, like a fresh atmosphere.Starr shook her head before she replied, “Nope.” She let herself enjoying his warmth, listening faintly to his paced heartbeat.“Are you sure? You don’t seem like the kind to miss work, till bedridden,” he had commented with a smile, causing Starr to chuckle.“Well, I have another reason to now,” she replied him.Christopher shook his head as he made to stand up, saying, “But not on my watch dear. Off to-” He didn’t get to finish his sentence before Starr pulled him back to bed, quickly topping him so
After a while of simply lying down, Starr felt the strong urge to use the toilet. She didn’t say anything to Christopher as she lifted her head from his arm – that was beneath her neck, she began to make her way to her bathroom, deciding it was better for her to also shower. “Where to?” Christopher had asked her, adjusting himself so he could be resting on his elbow, and seeing her.Starr shrugged before she replied, “Want to shower.”“Okay, I am coming,” was Christopher’s reply.Starr didn’t mind and didn’t reply him as she walked into the bathroom, standing under her shower as she released herself, before turning on the shower. She had her hair up in a bun, hmming a tune as she showered. It wasn’t long into Starr’s bath before she felt hands go around her waist. It was sudden to her, she was about to turn and hit the person square in the nose, but then quickly realized it was
Starr’s day was going fine, it had only started but it was already going fine. She had a bright smile on her face when she walked into the firm. Everyone could tell things were going fine for Miss. Hart. She used to always come around with a frown and strong face, but things had switched up and changed. She had a different type of glow and a wide smile on. She forgave little misbehaviours, letting them off as warnings. She still stood for disciple, but was more lenient with it also quite understanding and forgiving.“Good morning ma,” Amber had greeted her when she walked in, following right behind her as she walked to her office.“Morning Amber,” she had greeted her with a smile, causing Amber to almost scoff out. It was so evident she was happy.Amber found her jealousy for her, slowly become happiness. Seeing Starr so happy, was beginning to affect her, she found herself being suddenly happy for her. “You had a visitor yest
It had been long the whole family had seen Starr, and it had been long Starr had seen the whole family. She was pumped. She had left work early enough, so she could go get dressed. She also packed clothes, so she could sleepover and leave from there to her workplace the next day. She had called Christopher and told him about her plans to have meal with her family. He was glad, and willingly let her go have family time, sending his greetings to Sorcha, since she was the only one he knew.Starr took a deep breath, before she adjusted her kaftan gown, knocking gently on her mother’s door. She felt her heart beating faster at the thought of seeing her family together once more. Were they going to still be the same? Or had things changed so much? She couldn’t help thinking to herself. It didn’t take long before the door opened, her mother looking at her with widened eyes. It almost like she had seen a ghost. Her mother had a glow on. She looked better than when l
Nothing had really changed around the house. It still had its African touch to it. It still had their dad’s effect here and there, his pictures still up. Starr smiled, her heart warming up. It was like his presence was still present, watching over them. She felt safe. “So, how has life been for you Lace?”Solace nodded with a smile as they walked past the sitting room into the kitchen and dining room. It was nicely lit, the right white lights reflecting off the marble white tiles. “Fine,” Solace had replied. The kitchen and dining room hadn’t change, but yet Starr still felt fresh in it. It felt like it was the first time she had been entering it, yet feeling so home. “What about work?” she had asked lace as she sat down on one of the wooden chair surrounding a round wooden table, where all other chairs were too.“Pretty good,” Solace had replied her as he sat down too, their mother dropping everything
Starr felt way better the next day. She hadn’t left early in the morning. But rather took her time. She didn’t really have anything doing. She took her time getting ready for her day. Solace had upped and left early the next morning, leaving only herself, her mother and Sorcha in the house. “Good morning,” she had greeted her mother when she had gotten out of the bedroom in the morning. Her mother was munching at a banana as well as tapping at her phone, when she had walked in on her in the kitchen and dining room. “Morning dearie,” her mother had replied her, switching off her phone to pay her attention as she asked, “How was your night?”Sorcha nodded as she sat opposite her, pulling a banana away from its bunch as she peeled and took a bite. “Good,” she replied with a smile. “Haven’t felt so home and comfortable in a long time. Feels like I shouldn’t return to my house anymore.”
Starr got in and settled in, relaxing on her chair as she pulled out her iPad and began to go through her emails. She didn’t care.Emma was beginning to feel awkward outside, while Amber was enjoying it all. Before, she was on a thin line between indifferent and hate about Starr, but all she felt was love for her at that point in time. She was beginning to love her job, and the drama that was coming with it. “You can go inside now, Miss West,” Amber had said to her with a warm smile, trying hard to not roll her eyes. She didn’t know much about Emma West personally, but from how she had been acting, Amber knew she was going to be problematic.Still busy on her iPad, Starr didn’t look up when Emma walked in. it was until Emma cleared her throat that Starr looked at her, noticing her well for the first time. She was a tall blond, her waist as thin as the width of an A4 paper. Her legs so long, they made her trousers looked so nice on. She was
It was a five-star hotel with all the service a person could ever need, golden furniture here and there. Emma had her legs crossed as she leaned into a chair, laughing at a reality show she had been watching in the hotel. Becoming desperate of not seeing both Starr and Christopher happy, she had dug deep into Starr’s life. Meeting Starr had made her desperate. It pissed her off that Starr was so confident and sure of herself. She hated her guts.Michael Adams was an unexpected news she had stumbled upon while roaming her life. Her source had told her how it is believed that she had changed and became stone cold after that particular man. To Emma, that was a pleasant news. She didn’t hesitate to try to find the man, contacting him and setting up
Placing Starr’s hand bag between them both, Starr crossing her left leg over her right the moment she and Christopher sat down. The interviewer was a black woman that was probably in her late twenties, slim and with a smile so bright it was the lighting to the room. She was dressed in a simple cream suit and brown inner, Starr though her outfit really suited her, but didn’t bother complimenting her. The interview was what was going to determine how she was going to treat her.“Good afternoon,” the interviewer had greeted them, causing Starr to nod while Christopher had replied with a smile and a low ‘afternoon’.The director made his call, the camera rolling and then the interview began. “Hello and welcome, I am your host for today Amber Brown,” Amber had said with a smile as she turned to Starr and Christopher, adding, “And today we have with us Miss Hart and Mr. Chariton.” Amber spoke with a certain type of
It wasn’t long before the picture of Starr and Christopher holding their hands began to circulate on different platforms. It was like they were the 6alk of the town. It was as if people had been waiting for a public evidence. Various interviews had began to pop here and there, for both Starr and Christopher. Starr knew she could trust Christopher, but her jealousy wasn’t going to let her watch him talk to Female interviewers who looked like they wanted him the entire time. Of she found an interviewer who should no interest at all, she wasn’t going to follow him. But also, she didn’t want to seem too protective of him, so she also decided to not go with him. Her pride didn’t let her.About a week had passed since Starr got her car, and she had accepted an interview that wanted herself and Christopher Chariton present. She definitely wasn’t going to accept an interview that wanted her alone, she didn’t want anyone digging into her priva
It had been in the afternoon, before they were both set and ready to go get her car. They had spent the day either talking while cuddled up, or watching some show together – Christopher trying to introduce some shows to Starr, and her still not being fully interested, or them simply enjoying each others company in silence.“Are you set? Do you know what you want already?” Christopher asked Starr as they were both set to leave.Starr nodded without a reply as she opened the door for them both to walk out. Christopher nodded also as they walked out, and straight to where Christopher car was packed. The ride had started quite, until Corinne Bailey Ray’s ‘Like A Star’ began to play. It was like Starr was pulled back to her childhood. Memories of her dad on Saturday mornings, flooded back. Memories of him singing along, dancing with them as he held unto wither her of Sorcha’s hand while he swirled them, their laughter echoing
Christopher had been in the sitting room, watching a television show, when Starr had woken up early. He had been pushing the breakfast he had planned to make for her, to the time he thought she was going to have woken up. But, she had surprised them both and had woken up quite early, around six to seven in the morning. Christopher had been laughing to something a character had said in the show, when Starr walked in. She didn’t say a thing as she walked in, trying to see what he was watching and maybe get why he was laughing. With no intention to startle him, she sat down quietly on one of her chairs, staring at the television. Christopher nearly jumped out of his skin when he had first seen her. He wasn’t expecting her to be there at that point in time, so seeing her there made his not recognize her quickly and causing him to fear. “Geez, why didn’t you make any noise when you were coming or when you arrive?” he had asked her, staring at her.Sta
Starr had made up her mind that from what she had seen, she was soon about to start getting on interviews with Christopher. Maybe her presence there was going to get those women to stay off him. She didn’t like them interview, but maybe things were going to turn around. “Had a stressful day?” Starr had asked Christopher when he walked into her office.Christopher sighed, dropping on the chair opposite her, at the other end of her table. He didn’t reply as he sat slant, his eyes closed his head facing her celling. “Hectic,” he soon replied, keeping his eyes closed.Starr chuckled. “Sorry about that,” she replied, rounding off what she was doing. “What do you need right now? Sleep? Massage?”Christopher chuckled in reply, before saying, “Can you give the massage?”Starr chuckled, not looking at him as she replied, “Because I haven’t shown you my skills, which is why you mock
Magnus had pulled a chair to sit close to Starr, so he could also watch the interview with her. She had a slight frown on her face as she listened to the interviewer ask, “So, it is rumored that there is a spark between yourself and Miss Hart? Could that be through?” Starr trusted Christopher and knew that he wasn’t looking at the interviewer in anyway other than that of business, even if he had a wide smile on, the person she didn’t feel pleased by was the interviewer.Christopher nodded affirmatively, that reminded her of the question he had asked her that morning, causing her to realize the reason behind the question. She had never thought about that, or thought the question was for a reason, but she was glad he did ask before he went on any interview. He cleared his throat before he replied, “Well, yes those rumors can be considered true. Miss Hart and I are in a serious and official relationship.”The pale interviewer with long
Her heels echoing as she walked in to the office, Starr had no expression on her face as she walked. She noticed everything, while look straight ahead and not saying a single thing. Amber had welcomed her into her office, like she had been waiting for her arrival. “Good morning ma,” Amber had greeted her with a little bow as she walked in.Starr nodded in reply. “When Magnus arrive, tell him I said he should fire that security who smelt like smoke,” Starr had said as she walked, Amber following her closely.Amber smiled a bit, knowing that she loved how Starr had changed but still didn’t lose her disciple touch. It was like Starr 2.0. “Yes, I would pass that message to him ma.”Starr didn’t reply her as she kept walking.“Channel TN sent an e-mail ma, they wanted to know if they could have an interview with you ma,” Amber had said to Starr, not waiting for her to reply as she added, “Should
Almost everyone was knocked out by the next morning, while Starr was up and ready for work. She had been dressed in a black leather skirt, a sky blue chiffon shirt tucked into it. She had been down, trying to get a cup of coffee before she went to work. She had bumped into Valentine in her kitchen, he had been holding a mug of tea close to his lips. She had been doing fine ignoring him, but his presence and the deafening silence between them, made her break out. “Do I still scare you?” she had suddenly asked.Valentine was taking a sip from his tea, when her question had come through. He choked on his drink, as the drink came flying out in reply. He wasn’t expecting her to say a single word to him at all, so hearing her voice was really sudden to him. “Huh?” he had asked in reply.Starr turned from her coffee machine and stared at him a little clueless, keeping her face emotionless as she once again asked, “I said do I still scare yo
