Three weeks later.
Purple sat on the couch, nursing her bruises. Her scalp was aching with a pain she could not describe, her fingers were damaged once more. Tears flowed freely from her cheeks, her husband had bullied her again.
She had gotten married two weeks ago to John. It was in the marriage that John showed his real self. He constantly reduced her worth to a punching bag. It was a suffocating hell,
She was tired of complaining to her mother who she was beginning to detest. She knew that in reality, her mother was being plain selfish and greedy. She pushed her into this hell of marriage to claim all the benefits that came with it.
Or else? What mother would claim ignorance of the plight of her daughter? What mother would refuse to look beyond the fog in the air to save her daughter? It was only a mother who had designed her existence to embrace heartlessness like a lover. Her mother fitted perfectly into the description.
Her phone rang and she looked at the number. It was Lucas. She gasped softly, surprised to see his call. Perhaps he had not forgotten about her afterall. She smiled, somewhat glad that he called.
"Hello", she said softly.
"Hey... How are you doing purple?
She hesitated before replying
"I wish I could say I'm fine. How about you?"
"I wish I could say I'm fine too, can we meet?"
"I'm married to John now, and I don't think he'd love to know that I went out with you,"
"Fuck your husband! I did my homework on him. He's a mean, cruel swine with a genuine record of 15 divorces and a reputation for mistreating women. How the hell did you end up with a bastard like him?" Lucas spilled in an angry tone.
"Where should we meet? It's not just something I can say over the phone,"
"I will meet you at Stark Light Bar by 8'0 clock tonight"
"Fine… I'll be there"
"Bye". The phone clicked off.
By 8, she arrived at the bar, but as she made to go in, a strong hand grabbed her from behind, and when she tried to look into his face and possibly rebuke him, a cloth was wrapped against her nose. It was so sudden, so unexpected that it made her heart race in fear.
As she inhaled the substance, she felt her body grow numb and weak. But what the fuck was happening? Who was taking her and why? Was it John? Her mind was in chaos.
She screamed, hoping someone would hear her or perhaps come to her rescue, but the screams were empty, muffled echoes of her voice, it did not produce an effect.
Her heart pounded loudly as she tried to fight back with every ounce of her strength until she could feel her knees weakening, her eyelids pummeled and her heart pace relaxing until she could no longer feel reality.
"Boss… it has been executed. She's lying safely in the boot of the car. Nobody saw us either''.
"Good. Bring her straight to the dungeon immediately".
"Yes, boss".
The car took off immediately at a high speed.

The dimmed lighting of the bar and the soft music that came from the speakers made Lucas proud that he had made a great choice. She would be glad.
But talking about her, where the hell was she? He looked at his watch again and grimaced. It was 30 minutes past their agreed time, but there was no sign of her. Was she kidding him? Or playing games? Maybe she planned to keep him stranded, or had the blasted husband of hers stopped her?
He sighed and looked around the bar. It was filled with people, each with their date for the night. He felt like a loner. Maybe he had been foolish to suggest they met tonight?
He called her but the phone was switched off, why? His head clicked. No idea.
His phone vibrated and rang, his heart skipped and he looked into it, expecting a call from her, an explanation, or worse a cancellation of their meeting.
But it was not her, the caller was someone else, his father. Disappointment flashed on his face and he felt angry.
"Hello, Dad…"
The sound of his father's voice was cryptic, enough to make him cringe.
"My men are watching you, and I know you're in a bar waiting for a woman, so I called to cancel the meeting on her behalf. She's not coming, save yourself the stress and go home…"
Lucas stared hard in shock. What the hell was the old man talking about?
"What do you mean?"
"She's not coming, I made sure of that," he said, and Lucas could hear the smirk in his voice. It made him mad, and he rose to his feet.
"Don't you dare hurt her, Dad. Don't you fùcking touch her!"
"Well, that depends on how you cooperate. I can make her…,"
"Enough!" Lucas yelled. "Where's she?"
Ben stopped to ponder before speaking. "She's somewhere safe,"
"Where the fùck is she!"
"I'll tell you, but on one condition that you wouldn't dare try to play the hero. If you do, I'll hurt her, agreed?"
"Agreed,"
"She's at the dungeon in Walls Street. Do not go there, I repeat, do not, for my men are watching you,"
Lucas ended the call and rushed out. His father had threatened him with a woman he cared for, he had to fight to get what he wanted.
The next morning, he planned an underground space that took him to Purple. His father's threats played in his mind, but he ignored it. She could not die for something so useless, so trivial as his father's hatred.
His eyes saw her distressed face and he breathed a sigh of relief, she was alive and it was he cared about. He rushed over and hugged her.
"Are you okay?"
She did not answer at first. "I'm okay…," she said in tears.
"I don't deserve this, I really don't…Lucas,"
"I know, and I'm here for you. Things are gonna be fine, trust me,"
As she stared at him dreamily, he reached out to his inner pocket and brought out a ring. Then he knelt and proposed.
It was all the conviction she needed.
"Yes, I'll marry you," she shrieked, her eyes filled with tears.
…………………..
Scrolling through her I*******m page, Clara stumbled upon a picture of Lucas and Purple #rainbow of my life. Immediately, she opened the page to find out that Lucas had moved on with another woman while forgetting she existed.
"Who's the bitch!" She screamed, smacking hard on the gum in her mouth.
She punched the keys on her phone to send a text without thinking.
"I'm pregnant for you, one month gone"
When she did not get a response, she decided to perfect her plans. She bribed her family doctor for a fake pregnancy test, and when she got the results, she went to visit Purple.
"Who are you and what does this result have to do with my fiance?"
Clara cleared her throat
"I'm his ex-girlfriend. Lucas came to me a month ago telling me he wanted to get back with me. We had an affair and I got pregnant. I see you must think your fiance is your knight in shining armor, but I tell you, he is a playboy. He will never marry..."
"I don't want to hear it. Purple stopped her with a raise of her finger, just go
Anger and disappointment preventing her from speaking, she went to visit Lucas with the result. Planting it on his chest, she wrapped her hands against her shoulders, tears in her eyes.
"We just started dating, one month ago, yet you cheat on me?"
She watched his reaction change, but it didn't matter to her.
"Let's break up."
Lucas walked into the room with a bowl of ice cream which he placed in front of Purple with a smile. "There you go," Purple frowned as she regarded the bowl like it was a long standing enemy of hers. "I'm not interested in that," "What?" Lucas couldn't believe his ears. "You heard me. I'm not longer craving ice cream," Lucian chuckled at her pouty lips. What the hell? He had brought her favorite and she no longer craved it. He didn't know how to react to this. "What's wrong?" He asked. Purple sighed and sat up straight, a hand raking through her hair. "I'm craving to know the truth about you and Ellen. Is she still sending more of those love texts bullshit? Should I confront her this time? What's going on?" Lucas leaned closer with a smile, as if taunting her. "Is this what took your appetite away? Like I said, your health is primary, everything other things are secondary," Purple nodded in acceptance. Lucas was so stubborn, he wouldn't budge, it didn't matter how she coaxed. "

Lucas turned quickly to the limp body on the floor and screamed. "Purple!" He collapsed to the floor and checked her pulse. She was still breathing, but very faint. Adrenaline rushed through his entire body as he lifted her from the ground. "Help! Somebody fucking help!" His screams attracted attention from within and nurses rushed outside and wheeled Purple into the operating room. For a moment, Lucas stood there, rooted to the spot, there was a tighteness in his chest. A lump settled in his throat and he stifled the urge to yell. Where the hell had that useless bullet come from? He was about enjoying the night with his angel, so what the fuck just happened? She had fucking took a bullet for him. He climbed into his car in a wild race, but as he drove, his heart in his mouth, he received a message that the security guards who had swunged into action earlier were unable to catch the shooter. According to the text, the culprit's car had plunged into a large tree during the pursui
"What?" Henry pushed the chair backward and stood on his full weight. "What the hell is wrong with you?!""Tada! Was it a pleasant surprise? Awnn, probably not,""Are you insane? What did you just do?!"Purple shrugged. "I tore the goddamn papers. Got any problems with that?"Gritting his teeth, he grabbed her neck, pulling her forcefully to her feet."You bitch!" He snarled."Let me go!" She struggled, hitting his huge muscles."No, I won't, you sicken me!""You…you're…choking me, stop, please!"His grip on her neck tightened with every word of her plea until there was a soreness in her throat. She was gasping for air."Stop!" Alice screamed and rushed over, separating the fight. "How dare you lay a finger on my daughter?""Your daughter is just as irresponsible as you!" He scoffed, pushing Purple roughly to the floor."Wow… so I'm irresponsible? Is that it? After everything?""After fucking what, huh?"Purple groaned, massaging her throat. The back-and-forth arguments were disgustin
Alice disentangled from the embrace and peered into her daughter's face. Jeez, those eyes were miserable, helpless, like a scared child. She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment. How selfish of her to think of her baby's heart as a rag doll. She took a deep breath to steady herself. How about a thorough confession? A confession that'd purge the tightness in her chest. Her heart lurched, no, a confession would mean a swift change of plans. Titus would sell her off without another glance and she could not afford for that to happen. Darn! If only that stupid game had not clicked red. "Now you're talking like the smart daughter I raised you to be," Purple sighed. "Smart indeed," "Hold on, I'll make a call to Henry," Purple stopped her hands. "What? Now? I'm… I'm… I don't think I'm ready to meet him yet," "Don't worry, honey, it'll be fine," As her mother left, Purple released a sly smile. Phew! Plan A had gone by so smoothly, like a piece of cake, no hitch. But wait, was that a bi
Henry tried to keep the shock out of his face like her words hadn't affected him. "What?""And don't forget to never come this close to me again!" She spat.Henry paused, tilted his head to the right, and smiled. "You're really something,""Leave while I'm being nice!""You have to calm down, listen…""Fuck you!" She sprang to her feet and grabbed a bundle of broom that laid against the wall. "If you don't leave this instant, I'll break you to pieces with this!"Henry stood up with raised hands and stepped backward. Was this the responsible daughter Alice had wanted him to meet? This raving bitch? The hell, she didn't look one inch like a responsible lady, she was dangerous, insane."Are you still here?!"His brows lowered. "Fine, I'm leaving,"At his promise of leaving after a phone call, she stood with a glare while watching him. Within seconds, Alice unlocked the door and walked into the room, a wild look on her face."What's going on here?"Henry brushed past her icily. "You shoul
