EMBERLYN WOLFSONGI slowly stand up from my spot, still staring down at my book, feeling the entire class's attention on me. I take a few deep breaths. The instructor, Mr. Thane Blackwood, folds his hand in front of the class and looks at me with omnipotent rage, which I know is capable of sending me to the detention room—a place I have always feared entering—without permission. EMBERLYN WOLFSONGI can not seem to open my mouth to speak, so I just keep tapping against my table and pointing my fingers at my book. This is very embarrassing. It is among the most awkward situations I have ever encountered. I am unable to respond to that query. I can now just think of a response and give it to him. I am at a loss for words. Right now, I am annoyed with everything. Everything is palpable to me. I feel their eyes on me. Everyone is looking at me expectantly, but I know that most of them are not waiting for a response from me, and they are content to see what happens as a result. I close my eyes and inhale deeply. XANDER SHADOWHUNTERShe is fascinating. She surpasses my expectations in beauty. As I sit there staring at her while the lecture is on, I am not even sure what to think to myself. She is not the person I expected her to be. I am aware that I have a responsibility to fulfill and that it is my duty. But as I stare at her, I stop thinking and clench my fists tightly. I am not even sure. I am perplexed. I sense being snatched away. I am utterly enthralled. Furthermore, unlike all those dumb, pointless girls that I have nothing to do with, she is not falling in love with me. I keep staring at her without realizing that I am grinning from where I am. I can tell she is not paying attention in class because of the way she is currently looking ahead of her. She has other ideas in her head. She seems bothered by it, based on the expression on her face. Based on my actions, it appears that I have communicated to her that I am a rude person. EP 13: VERY SURPRISING EMBERLYN WOLFSONGI quietly sigh to myself and quickly swivel my backpack around my shoulder to head out of the classroom, shoving aside everything and everyone that stands in my way. Everyone I encounter is giving me looks that warn me that I am going to get into serious trouble if I happen to cross paths with them. Just as I am about to leave through a narrow path surrounded by tables, another girl who is also about to leave meets up with me. We stop simultaneously and exchange shocked looks. We stopped and exchanged a look that told me we would have to choose who would go first because we had wanted to leave at the same time but it was not possible.
