Hey my sweeties, there was a mistake in the chapter title of yesterday's chapter, hope it will be rectified soon. If you love the story, please leave your adorable reviews and comments for me. They motivate me a lot :) Also, please do send gems this way too ^^
Ethan's POV: To be honest, I had assumed the way I ran away from her at the party using that lame excuse when we were having such a good time together, I had hoped Lena might cuss or spit at me the next time she saw my face. Unlike Hermes’s texts which seemed strangely restless, reading Lena’s messages made me frown hard. I couldn’t help but exhale a long sigh, consumed with my guilt and remorse for making her worry for me like that. Just reading her text once, I could immediately sense that she must’ve blamed herself for my sudden disappearance from the party, and instead of replying to her now, it would have been much better if I apologized to her directly once I reached the campus. But while I was acting a bit fidgety, I could sense Zeus’s cold piercing gaze directed towards me for a moment, as if he was carefully observing my gestures. Zeus took the initiative first to break the anticipating silence between us with a scoff, “It must’ve been quite tiring to be a popular guy, is
Ethan's POV:> “Woah! Is he a celebrity kid perhaps? Or maybe a rising supermodel?”> “Just look at his facial features…God damn! > “We never knew such a gorgeous guy existed in our neighborhood, were we living under the rocks or something? Only if I was not married and a few couple years younger…I would’ve asked for his number already…”…Well, I had lowkey expected to hear such intense whispers from the crowd of people seated inside the restaurant, since I had already found it yesterday that this restaurant mostly gets overcrowded with customers. But after a lot of pestering and almost forcibly dragging Zeus along with me, the moment we walked inside through the restaurant door, all the eyes immediately shuffled at us, with an awestruck expression apparent in them. Not us, but particularly Zeus. Just the way my breath was hitched for a second in the morning when I saw how gorgeous Zeus looked being groomed in such exquisite clothes, all the people surrounding us had the exact same
Ethan's POV:It seemed like her plan succeeded when that bratty high schooler managed to gain the crowd’s attention with her loud pitch. Just a second ago the eyes of all those women passionately gawking at Zeus without fail, now were filled with despise and strong contempt which I vividly noticed this time. Strangely in contrast to my vexed mood, Zeus stayed very calm, folding his arms over his chest before he answered that girl in a cordial tone, “For being together here with a man if I am labeled as a gay man, I don’t have any objection to your allegation. You could say to me whatever you intend to, but don’t include him in this mess.” I was awestruck by his answer for a brief moment, unable to process that even when his dignity was hurt in front of so many watching eyes, Zeus still firmly took the stand for not letting me be involved in any kind of malicious rumors. Like a giant shield, he was prepared to bear everything alone, enduring all those scornful gazes fixated on him.
Ethan's POV:The touch of his cool palm brushing against my warm skin winced me a little, but what startled me the most was that even though I was fumed from hearing all those people cussing at him nonsensically, Zeus seemed very calm, catering his whole attention to me instead. His serene onyx eyes curved into a soft smile, when he slightly nudged his finger against my palm as he uttered, “Do not let these humans bother your sanity, Ethan. Look at me here instead, and try to be a bit calm.” “How can you be so calm when your dignity is tarnished?” I frowned my brows a little hard, asking him in a stiff low pitch to which Zeus only let out a warm snicker, “Honestly, I don’t care whatever they talk about me or what they intend to label me…but I am glad nonetheless.” “Glad? About what?” “You’re the reason, Ethan.” Once again, startling me with his soft gaze and a tender press on my hand on the table, Zeus seemed much more sincere from his tone as I could read his facial expression see
Ethan's POV: Struggling to contain my perplexed feelings at that moment as I was barely holding myself from starting a fight with all those women scornfully gawking at our table, when I let out a big exhale, Zeus finally lifted his gaze towards me. Until now, he was still happily chomping on his meat dumplings, like an adorable squirrel stuffing its cheeks with a bunch of peanuts. But meeting my orbs, he quickly asked me, “Do you feel sick from eating that spicy stuff? If you feel unwell, let me know but don’t suddenly collapse like last night.” For a second, it baffled me to realize that Zeus’s entire focus was fixated on me as if I was the only one in this world who mattered to him at that moment. Given that, he was completely oblivious to the surroundings who only harshly condemned him, but all those bullshit rubbish about this person had started to irk me badly. So, I let out another heavy huff of breath, lowering my spoon as I met his curious gaze before speaking, “Zeus…I am
Ethan's POV:“What’s wrong?”It seemed Zeus had quickly noticed my sudden halt, while my sad eyes were fixed in the direction of that elderly man, seated dejected, all alone with a photograph and a half-eaten sandwich on the other hand. Hearing his curious low voice snapped me back to reality from my thoughts but I couldn’t hold back those detestable feelings growing inside me towards Zeus. Upon shuffling my gaze back on him, I saw his big pitch-black eyes were fixated on me, while I could see concern written all over his face. He seemed anxious from my sudden change of expression, but my feet unknowingly parted a few steps away from him as we were walking closely next to each other. “Are you feeling sick again? Want me to drive back to the mansion?” While I bore a fidgety silence between us, Zeus’s concerned voice made me feel more restless as if all of my emotions were a jumbled mess inside me. His eyes and voice clearly expressed his concern for me, but even looking at that man
Zeus’s POV:My head hurts…and I feel this strange uneasiness rising inside me when I parted ways from Ethan. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave him all by himself, but I didn’t want to irk him even more than how he already seemed furious at me. After living almost for an eternity among the humans, I was quite accustomed to their selfish egocentric nature, so I wasn’t startled by how the crowd inside that restaurant reacted to me. But Ethan never failed to amaze me…since the first time, I laid my eyes on him. The way he boldly defended me before everyone, shook me from inside, as the realization finally hit me that there was someone else apart from Anna, especially a human, who didn’t abandon my side, despite knowing my real truth. I knew Ethan had labeled me as a monster, but his kind actions wavered me to give in a fleeting hope, and before I knew…I was already comfortable with his presence next to me. He was a kind boy, and due to his kind and affectionate nature, he gave into my se
Zeus's POV:Zeus’s POV:I had almost considered my wolf’s plea for not harming these young betas following our divine Moon Goddesses’s command and letting them get away with a stern warning. But the second one among them mentioned Ethan while I was already considering leaving from there, my motion feet halted on the ground, surprising me to my core. My face turned dark from a wave of dread and panic that washed over me the moment I recalled Ethan’s smiling, innocent face before my eyes. Since the very second I decided to bind Ethan by my side by forming the pact, I was aware of exposing him to the dangers of this dark world from where creatures like me belonged. It was a selfish choice…but if I wanted someone to share space by my side in this cold, lonely world…my heart knew it had to be someone as pure as Ethan. Despite harboring hatred towards humans for all these decades, my heart felt soothed by his presence from the very first moment he caught my eyes. Since that night of sno
Zeus’s POV:The sound of my sniffling tears and raspy breath echoed inside the small hut, resulting from the undying despair I have been bearing inside me for so long, and led an anticipated silence between us. But even though all of my vulnerable emotions were spilling out in the form of tears streaming down my cheeks endlessly, my vision had turned completely blurred, making me surprised to find myself crying out so helplessly in front of her. It left me bashful, but I could feel a load deep down my chest felt a little lighter when I sobbed my heart out before her. Like always, Sophia gently cupped my face while continuing to wipe my tears with her soft fingertips. Her angelic face was tainted with sadness to see me in this bereaved state, but she tried consoling my heart just the way she used to do it before. “Lord Zeus…I know everything. I have seen what you’ve gone through…and…I do not blame you the slightest for everything that you had to bear all alone. Instead…my heart…break
Zeus’s POV:With a sudden jolt, I woke up from my deep slumber, hearing the sound of mild canary birds chirping close to me. While trying to blink open my drowsy eyes, my head felt quite heavy with a dull pain aching all over my body, leaving me at a sluggish state. When my drowsy vision cleared up a little, the memories from last night were slowly retrieved in my mind. Fighting alone against those bunch of warrior betas while getting stabbed by wolfsbane-soaked silver daggers, I still managed to return home in a bloodsoaked state, only to collapse in Ethan’s arms, who seemed oddly at edge while trying to confront me. Watching me collapse all of a sudden must have made him hysterical, as by now I was already aware of his habit of losing nerve quickly whenever a tough situation arose…and compared to him, I was the calmer one to handle him with care. So, when my vision almost cleared up, and I hoped to go looking around for Ethan to finish our conversation from last night, suddenly,
Ethan’s POV:The second Zeus placed his lips on mine, a jolt of electric current stuck in me and I stood awestruck with my eyes wide open, unknowingly accepting his advances. In that glamorous knight armor with that shimmering long black hair that drifted along with the mild night breeze wafting past us in the middle of that dark forest, for a second the ethereal moment left me to stunned to even breathe. It was the second time Zeus drew me into a kiss, but unlike the first time when he intently played it a bit rough, this time, his warm hands held me tenderly by my waist, and he placed his other arm cupping my face. But I was quite taken aback to realize he was treating me way a bit too gently as if I was someone too precious to him to apply a minimal force on my body! Moreover, when he whispered into my ears earlier, calling me ‘his mate’, I saw his rolled onyx eyes filled with pure devotion, and an ardent flare of passion as if at that moment he wanted to scream before the whole
Ethan’s POV:With an unusual jolt, I blinked and found myself lying down on a heap of dried leaves, at the center of a dark cryptic forest. A faint trace of moonlight was visible inside that pitch-black forest, but the eerie atmosphere surrounding me left me pretty baffled for a while. Even though I couldn’t initially fathom how I reached inside this deep cryptic forest when I was seated next to Zeus a while ago inside his room. After a brief contemplation, when I admitted my feelings for him it had turned me flustered red from the aftermath of the realization, making my cheeks flustered red, and my head spin with all the chaotic emotions gushing inside me. My body temperature was rising to the point that I felt like I might get a heat stroke…but how the hell did I arrive at this thick scary forest? But while I deliberately gazed around myself, suddenly I sensed a peculiar familiarity amidst the surroundings which made me conclude that it wasn’t even real. I had initially hoped tha
Ethan’s POV:As much as I deliberately tried to hide my flustered face in response to Anna’s sarcastic taunt, when she exited the room and closed the door behind her, a heavy exhale fell off me. I averted my gaze back on Zeus’s numb, and completely still face as I grabbed my seat next to him on the bedside. I dimmed the bright lights glowing in the room to make sure he would have a restful sleep, but even with the gentle moonlit beaming through the window inside, Zeus still appeared extremely alluring like a Prince of Night, making me unable to take my eyes off him. Being lost in his magnetic charm, I slowly reached my hand out to touch him on his side- face softly, as if I unknowingly wanted to make sure that he was alive, comparing how listless he was lying down before me. My fingers gently grazed against his pale smooth skin, but the freezing cold temperature of his body startled me a bit hard as I whined at him on my own. “Hey…why is your body cold as a block of ice? You…aren’t
Ethan’s POV:After being frantically scolded by Anna, I tried to hold onto my silence to ensure I wouldn’t get on her nerves too much while she did her best to treat wounded Zeus. Though I couldn’t recognize why the uneasiness kept on growing inside me vigorously from watching Zeus in such a miserable state, her raging blue eyes served as a major warning to me that I mustn’t try to do anything that might trigger her wrath to attack or throw me out of the room instead. At the very least, I wanted to stay by Zeus’s side for now. From what I have read in the ancient literature, werewolves were the deadly mythical beasts who once ruled the world and acted on their impulses to attain their dominance, unlike humans who were treated as their slaves and only allowed to use emotions more. Thus when I fell silent, I saw Anna quietly pressing Zeus’s wounded areas with her palms mixed with concoctions, and chanted something with a murmur sound, following which an illuminant bluish flame emitt
Ethan’s POV:As an aftermath of my panicked howl, Anna came rushing towards the blood-stained hallway and just like me, she was equally consumed with distress and disbelief to watch Zeus in that miserable state. He had already fainted in my arms by now, and no matter how hard I screamed with tears burning down my throat, he didn’t open his eyes for once. I could feel his breathing was turning shallow, and his body temperature felt cold as a block of ice. But despite his condition, Zeus was still holding onto my arm with his trembling fingertips. Even though I was having a hard time processing the uncertain turn of events, Anna regained her calmness very quickly and rushed towards us, before instructing me to bring Zeus to his room upstairs. Both of us held him tight on both his sides, but I couldn’t help but clench my hold tighter on him, even though I was soaked with his blood. But my body and mind reacted on their own, as if just with my presence I wanted to convey to Zeus that
Ethan’s POV:It has been only a couple of hours since we had seen each other, but under the glistening moonlight, I flinched hard, watching Zeus’s face look completely pale and lifeless. His porcelain white complexion seemed a little reddened, and he was scrunching his brows while making a pained face, but his every gesture made me quite anxious for him. Zeus didn’t try to shove my hand away from him, neither he took a step ahead, but just touching him by his wrist, I felt his body temperature had turned absurdly cold, as if it was similar to the feeling of touching a corpse! His eyelashes blinked a few times, when I saw Zeus making a pained face, while his chapped lips quivered in a husky voice, “Ethan, can we talk later?” “Nope…I am not letting you slip away from my palm, just like you did in the morning.” However, a strange wave of desperation had overwhelmed me as I clenched onto his left wrist a bit tightly, to make sure I wouldn’t lose my hold on him this time. Watching his p
Ethan’s POV: Even though Anna taunted me with her sneer, as if she was indeed irked by my curious inquiries, I casually shrugged, voicing my opinion, “No thanks. I don’t wish for cannibalism. But if I being honest, I am quite curious to know…what humans taste like?” “Awful and putrid.” Suddenly her sneer disappeared and I saw Anna making a scornful grimace as she diverted her gaze away from me. The answer seemed to come out straight through her heart, clearly depicting her utmost disgust when she said it. But until now, I was expecting maybe it would be an exotic taste that must have made Zeus hooked upon it. However, reading her face, I also clearly reminisced that last night inside the Black Woods, Zeus didn’t seem very happy either while devouring that man’s flesh and blood, even though he tried to scare me off quite a number of times. So if humans really do not suit their palate…then why bother continuing to attack and devour them? I knew Anna wouldn’t be able to answer this
