-NIA’S POV-
Those words were like a hard blow behind the knees. I buckled forward and loomed over the desk. My left palm slammed down on the hard surface to not fall flat.
“Stop being such a pain in my ass.” Dalton gritted with a glare hoarding disgust. Not even the mate bond could calm the storm in his blue orbs.
I stared at him in shock and perplexity. I breathed heavily as dread began crawling down my spine.
“This is not you.” I countered, staring hard into his eyes to fight the gripping fear. I swallowed my panic and added, “It’s like you are someone else these days.”
He blinked himself back to reality and released my hand. He sighed in exasperation and dragged both hands down his handsome face. Then he sank down in his large chair, watching me with a tinge of remorse as his features softened.
I straightened, despite the tremors going through my body, and hugged myself. Dalton realized how mortified I was and came by my side. He turned me to face him and cupped my face.
“I’m just overworked.” His voice was gentle and he kissed my forehead.
The mate bond took domination. I threw myself onto him. He returned the hug and I melted into him with a willing heart to erase what just happened.
Then my hands snaked his neck and we kissed. A new, warm chill ran down my spine and my eyes fluttered closed. The kiss was slow and passionate, like there was no rush in the world. Lust crept into our veins.
One of his hands stayed on the small of my back while the other coasted down to my thigh. It went under the trench coat and ran right up, going around to cup my ass and exploring the fact that I had no underwear on.
Almost immediately, he growled.
Sparks flew everywhere. I tilted my head and tasted his sweet lips slowly. I opened my mouth and closed my lips over his. He sighed contently and I parted my lips to welcome his hot tongue which flickered over mine. He kissed me hungrily. A rough growl reverberated from his chest as his lips worked on my neck, kissing and biting certain places. My moans and hot breaths filled the air.
His skillful hands snuck between us and yanked open the coat. They traveled inside, fondling my round breasts and lower regions.
His lips sucked and canines grazed the crook of my neck, lingering on the area where he would mark me for life. His touch became more aggressive. He was losing control. His wolf was pushing through and beckoning to mine for an expression of his devotion.
I grabbed his nape, reveling in the heat of our intimacy. Then his canines began pressing into my skin. My wolf yipped inside my head. Our mate was finally going to mark us.
“Oh, baby.” I moaned when he lifted my right leg, keeping it elevated. While the other hand slipped over my ass, journeying south to where my sweet wetness awaited his thick rod.
My body stiffened as his canines sank further into my neck and his fingers slipped inside my core until he was knuckle-deep. I gasped as tingling pleasure spiraled and my insides contracted around his digits. He groaned when my hand found the hard, straining cock in his black trousers. His chest heaved, raggedly.
Just as I thought that I would die from how much I wanted him, the trilling ring of his cell phone killed the mood. Dalton stopped and lifted his head. My eyes snapped open to find his dilated orbs gradually changing to their natural blue. He ripped himself off me and sauntered to the desk to pick up the vibrating mobile from beside the laptop.
“Hey, Dad,” he greeted the man on the line, sitting and leaning back in his chair.
I wanted him so badly that I decided to be naughty. I walked over to him and knelt before him, unbuckling his belt.
“What?” Dalton jolted forward and grabbed my hand harshly while speaking to his father. “Now?”
When I tried to pull away, he shoved me off him. I fell backwards on my buttocks. My brows rose in a surprised arc.
“Dalton!” I griped with a faint wobble, getting up.
“It’s nobody important.” He controlled his tone while he glared at me. “Yeah, I’m in the office.”
He hummed and hung up. Then he lurched out of his chair.
Vehemently, he grabbed my arms. “My father’s on his way up. Hurry and leave.” He dragged me towards the door. “Don’t ever come here again. I absolutely hate impromptu visits.”
“Wait, I―.” I did not see why I had to leave.
Dalton glanced at me to see that the trench coat was still open and revealing my assets. He growled disapprovingly and halted, trying to close the open ends.
“Cover yourself.” He snapped with impatience and paced the floor.
My trembling fingers began buttoning from the top. A few buttons were missing. “I’m your mate, Dalton. One day they’ll have to know about me. Our fathers are friends. What’s there to hide?”
He paused and snickered, then he clutched my cheeks. His hard nails began piercing my skin. “There are other she-wolves that I could take as my Luna. They are much prettier, smarter and stronger. My social reputation is at risk, especially with a weakling like you who doesn’t know anything about loyalty.”
“You’re ashamed of me.” I squeezed out, despite my stinging jaws as I smelled my blood. The shocking realization had a nasty effect on my agonizing heart.
Finally, he spoke his heart.
“I didn't say that.” He dropped his hand and I rubbed my red, injured cheek. “You have no right to feel that way. You're just too sensitive.” Anger laced his voice and he scoffed. “You can’t do anything right, Nia. My father will come through the elevator any minute now and you’re still here.”
“You’re acting like we’re cheating or having an affair,” I grumbled and resumed fumbling with the buttons on my coat.
“If you loved me you wouldn’t do this shit.” His voice remained dark and he paced again. “You would understand but you have to make everything about you.”
“I have done much more for you than anyone else.” I defended, trying to control my breathing and the hurt in my voice.
“So?”
I froze for a second in disbelief at his ungrateful attitude. “I gave you financial backing when you and Chase were reckless to cause damage to Rhomboyd Pack and incurred that five hundred thousand debt. The same debt that you didn’t want your father to know about and couldn’t use our pack’s fund to repay. It was my father who helped you and kept your secret.” My hands gesticulated with emphasis. “Dad and I worked our asses off to get the Silver Springs, Vauxhall and Muscadine Packs to let go of their umbrage and rejoin the Alliance group while you took all the credit. We didn’t tattle on you so that your father could find you worthy to take over and not give the Alpha Title to your half-brother.”
“Don’t talk about that!” Dalton’s bear-like hand slapped across my right cheek.
The brutal impact sent my head left and I staggered sideways but managed not to fall. I stood unblinking in a catatonic stupor.
“Why do you always bring up that shit?” He shouted murderously, jabbing a fist in the air. “I’m the one who rescued you from the life of bullying you went through with your big old ass pointy ears. Where was your father to save you from that?”
Stunned, I placed my hand over my stinging cheek. Tastes of blood came on my tongue. I swallowed the metallic saliva as the hurtful memory of the past resurfaced. I shunned the urge to flinch at the memory.
Although the pack mocked and tormented me, I had planned to leave right after high school to escape it. I stayed because of him. I have cut the tips of my ears off with scissors over and over but they grew back. The last resort was to wear my long blue-black hair down to keep them covered at all times.
My parents weren’t aware of how the pack treated me. That’s because everyone behaved when my parents were around, since my Dad was the former Beta of the pack.
When Dalton and I found out we were mates, I was ready for his rejection. I was shocked when he said he didn’t mind my ears. He promised me safety and that we’d take things slow. It was at such a sluggish pace that I wasn’t marked nor had he told anyone except his Beta and Gamma about us.
“Do you want to go back to that life?” Dalton rasped, pointing at me.
“No,” I whispered glumly and bit my lip. My eyes shimmered with a salty burn.
All those pretty promises were now smeared. He told me I was beautiful and no one would hurt me again. Yet, he had just slapped the life out of me when he had vowed to be good to me. It was a hard punch of betrayal.
“Do you know how they’ll tear you apart when I dump you?” He hissed.
Tears trickled down my cheek. “How can you say that? I gave you my blood and participated in the experiments for the cure for your mother. It’s because of me that she didn’t die from the five silver bullets that pierced her heart when the rogue shot her. It was my blood treatment that healed her body!”
With nostrils flaring, he stormed over to me. I recoiled in fear, but not fast enough because his hand launched and slapped me again. I mewled.
“It’s the price you must pay for being mated to me because I fucking own you.” He lashed, raising his hand again.
I cowered with my hands over my face, choking with sobs. Then nothing happened. I peeked through the cracks of my fingers to find him raging like a barbarian brawler.
His hand froze in the air and his fingers crooked to form a fist. He was deliberating if he wanted to land that punch. Deciding not to do it, he growled in exasperation, “Look what you made me do!”
My heart collapsed with the sad comprehension that my mate was a victimizer. The pain pricked at my chest and I wiped my leaking eyes. I wanted to have a final say. “Until you mark me, I am not yours.”
Dalton pushed his hands in his pockets and his shoulders jerked as he burst out a sinister laugh. “No one will ever love you the way I do. Look how pathetic you are.”
Fury washed over me as a growl of my own ripped from my chest. “I’m not going to stay and take this!”
That swiped the humor out of him. His eyes almost popped out as I stood up for myself. He grabbed my arm, aggressively. “I set the rules in this relationship and you haven’t seen a glimpse of my bad side yet.”
“Screw you.” I stomped on his foot.
His face contorted and he released a throaty growl. My anger was no match for him. His features morphed grotesque and haunting with a wicked gleam. His eyes darkened as black as a bottomless pit as he ground his teeth.
“Sweetheart, you are going to pay for that later.” He dragged me across the room and swung the office door open. He shoved me into the reception area. I stumbled forward.
To his secretaries, he commanded, “Deal with her before my father gets here!”
The door slammed behind me. Christa pressed an intercom button. “Security, we have an emergency on the presidential floor. We have trash to toss out.”
Aisha’s condescending expression grafted with a shark’s grin. “Wrong place, wrong alpha, bitch!”
The two women came at me at the same time. I stood defensively, ready to pounce on them. It was too bad the elevator dinged open. It was not former Alpha Harrison. There were two wrestler-type large and thick security guards who were probably elite warriors.
Aisha and Christa moved aside and folded their arms, smirking triumphantly. I held up my hands in surrender before they could apprehend me. I walked between the two men and got inside the elevator.
When I got home, I paced the living room with a glass of wine, undecided about what to do regarding Dalton.
There was a message from Brooke thanking me for allowing her to use my credit card. It was past 8 p.m. so she had to be home by now. Yet, her phone kept going straight to voicemail. I needed some girl talk to calm me down and to tell her that the advice did not work.
When my mobile vibrated with a buzz in my hand, I stopped near the dining table and held it up to view the screen. It’s a message from Dad.
“Oh, goddess.” I groaned. He was the last person that I wanted to talk to especially because I was feeling down and melancholy.
Chugging down all the wine at once, I placed the glass on the table and opened the message. It was a seven-second video. The text underneath the video read: “He’s not worth it.” A hint of anger churned in my gut.
Watching the clip, four legs were intertwined in a bed. As the camera moved upwards, it revealed a pregnant woman lying on her back and a man’s robust hand rubbed her large tummy. Their faces were not visible and I wondered what game Dad was playing with me until I saw it.
My heart stalled and shattered. A panicking bile rose in my throat and I suddenly felt suffocated. There was no mistaking it when I glimpsed the ring on the man’s right ring finger.
Undeniably, it was the golden Alpha ring with the pack’s insignia that Dalton never took off.

-NIA’S POV-“Open this damn door!” Dalton roared after banging down my apartment at eight in the night. “Nia!”Although my wolf growled at me, I decided to ignore Dalton as I lounged on my almond-linen, upholstered sleeper sofa in my small living room. I laid on my side with my head resting on my knuckles, and a light yellow corduroy cushion beside my chest while watching the latest episode of my favorite series ‘Dish the Dirt.’Being Alpha meant that he would get away with that ruckus. No one was going to call the police or ask us to be quiet because Alphas controlled the entire region. Instead, the nosy tenants will pretend to mind their business while eavesdropping.“I’m giving you one last chance, Nia!” He commanded with authority. The door handle rattled vigorously, and I heard a kick that swayed its hinges.I rolled my eyes and turned the television volume to the max. Dalton hasn’t figured out that his alpha tone won’t work on me.“I’ve had a really fucked-up day, Nia!” He boome
One week later………-NIA’S POV-“I'm so sorry for your loss.” Elder Eunice gave my hands a gentle squeeze. I looked down on the seventy-year-old, gray-haired woman who had previously given a heartfelt eulogy. The inner ends of her black eyebrows raise and pull together on her pale, slightly wrinkled face. Apparently, she had cried too.I sniffed and managed to pry one of my hands away from her to wipe my sore, red, burning eyes with the white handkerchief that was damped from my tears. On this sorrowful day, a bunch of mourners dressed in formal black attire flocked and moussed the entire lower floor of my parents’ home. I was standing in the living room, keeping close to my distraught and weeping Mom.“I wanted to recommend that you bring Kathryn to the community center for counseling sessions. Losing a mate is quite hard, and she’ll need our help for her wolf to recover.” Elder Eunice feebly suggested.“Yes.” I agreed, patting under my moist eyelashes with the tip of the handkerchief.
-NIA’S POV-All my insecurities started drumming up, and my anxiety flew through the roof. Every part of me began shaking, but I had to see it to truly believe it.Slowly, I ascended the other five steps that brought me to the closed attic door. Grunts and moans continued in a jamboree.“You've been riding this dick for ten minutes.” The man groaned. “Milk my fucking cock.”“Hmm.”My shaky hands reached for the door handle. I took in a deep breath before I turned the lever and gradually opened the door to my heartache. There he was. From a side view, Dalton sat on the couch naked, his head laid back on the backrest. He had his eyes closed as Brooke, my best friend and the Beta's sister, straddled him, grinding and rapidly bouncing her naked body on him.Slapping sounds accompanied her moans. On the floor was a bottle of Baileys and their black clothes and underwear scattered in several directions. I stumbled backwards trying to keep my footing.Although there were no chest pains in th
-NIA'S POV-Being the center of the commotion disturbed me, and I became nervous since everyone was gazing at me. My hands trembled at my sides.“I fucking warned you not to make a scene.” Dalton snarled, eyes blazing.“Dalton, explain this!” Alpha Harrison demanded.“She's obsessed with him.” Brooke coyly aired for everyone to hear. “He used to fuck her but since he found out I was his mate, he dumped her. But she can't get over him.”Degrading comments began to circulate. Everyone gaped at me, so surprised and disappointed.Luna Francine pursed her lipstick-encased lips. “Nia, you will meet your mate one day. You cannot interfere in their relationship.”“Young lady if you wish to live, I suggest you know your place. He is an Alpha and the likes of you will never have someone like him.” Harrison pointed to his son. “I don't understand why your cock has no standard.”“I'm his fated mate. I don’t know what’s going on here, but please believe me that I'm his Luna.” I argued, desperately
NIA’S POV-Crash!Bang!Whack!Thud!It wasn't my alarm that jolted me up in bed in the wee hours of the night. It was a crashing disturbance, followed by heavy footsteps thumping up the stairs and then along the hallway. What's going on?Groggily, I raked tangled, black strands from my face as I discerned that people were in my Mom’s house. It hadn't clicked for my body to be alerted. In a dreamlike state, I stared in the dark through half-cracked eyes. The disturbance stopped. Quietness reigned once more, befriending my drowsiness. My lids closed. Sleep slowly dominated me. I flopped back on the bed. It's been three days since the funeral, and I've cried so much that my body was weak and tired. Life was insignificant with my unhealed heart agonizing from the rotting mate bond, but for my Mom, I pressed on. There was nowhere for me to discard this unbidden pain, grief, and disappointment. So, I moved back into my old bedroom again, keeping close to my mourning mother. We needed each
--NIA’S POV-Letting out disgruntled puffs of breath, the barbaric rogue crouched beside Mom’s inactive, slender body. I struggled to throttle the echoes of my darkest fears.I wrestled against Layton’s grasp. I wanted to stop Gossart, but Layton gripped my throat, squeezing the air out of me. Gasping for breath, I clutched at his hands, digging my nails into his skin and tearing his flesh. It was useless.Gossart picked up my Mom. When the monster stood, his bumpy eyebrows rose slightly at the sight of me. He traipsed towards me. Coming to a stop, he gurgled his throat and spat slimy saliva on my forehead.Layton chortled. My red-rimmed eyes jittered restlessly and watched the horrid scene even though they were getting blurry. I coughed and wheezed, feeling less and less air. My heart beat so fast that I could pass out any minute. My struggle grew feeble and subsided.“Money,” Gossart growled monstrously like Hulk, turning to Brooke, and cradling my limp mother in his arms. “Now.”Br
-LYKOAN’S POV-Loneliness was a monstrous enemy with deadlock tendrils that sucked the sprightliness of one’s will to live. However, tonight was a special night. Years of pain and misery would finally come to an end. For I, the man known as the Lycan Diabolyn, was cursed.Nightfall arrives quickly when you've lived a long mateless life. Hours were an empty void, and the silent times that fell in between were horrendous.Tonight was the ashaze night that accompanied the igneo moon. Indeed, it was the dark hour of my demise’s big finale. After years of searching the earth for all the magical ingredients required for the Nasphyxia of Soul ritual, at last, I’ve done it.The glowing, full moon hung high in the dark sky above the sacred old reliquary temple grounds. The stars were so bright that their illumination brewed optimism within my soul.It had begun. The ancient chants of the Quinto Quintessa Witches graced my ears. The five voices blended harmoniously with the natural sounds of th
-LYKOAN’S POV-With a finger, I nudged the animal’s muzzle. No response. Apparently, she was still blacked out.“We do not know her,” Lisandre, Bernadette’s youngest daughter, replied. The circle remained unbroken. No one moved but the witches exchanged knowing glances. My nostrils flared. Although I was irate at this she-wolf, strangely, I liked her body being on mine. How odd. As I tried to elevate my back from the ground, I noticed that the blood scent disappeared. All her wounds had healed.“How do you feel?” Leah asked with concern.Tenderly pushing the wolf to rest on my legs, I managed to sit up. “I'm fine. I'm just disappointed. Now tell me how to redo this ritual.”All pairs of teal eyes widened before they looked at each other and then Bernadette glanced at me. “All the ingredients were used up, and it will be next year before the igneo moon reappears. Until then, I'm afraid you'll have to live with the circumstances.”The way she spoke hinted that she was afraid to tell me
NIA’S POV-Before anyone else could react, I quickly maneuvered myself with a left roll, which positioned me on my back. With a hard tug on Vydon’s black tie, I dragged his upper body forward to loom over me just as the bullet pierced into his back.Thump.A murderous growl erupted from Lykoan. I glimpsed dark clouds in his eyes covering the burning lilacs. Clouds with thunder, dilating rapidly for that sonic boom and lightning strike. At the same time, Julius hooked his arm around the henchman and wrenched him away from the Overlord, while Beauchamp’s hands gripped down Vydon’s shoulders, veering him to sit back in his chair, and hindering him from moving. The henchman was quick to swing back, catching Julius with a cheap shot to his jaw before he drop-kicked the guy in the gut, sending him flying back. The henchman jumped on his feet, going hard at Julius.“How dare you!” Lykoan roared. It was a deep feral bellow from his partially ascended wolf. With fast movements, Julius went low
NIA’S POV-"I apologize, Lykoan. Perhaps I was out of line for assuming that you might share her with your new associate.” Vydon cockily referred to himself. “That’s what we do."Lykoan’s wolf bristled. I quickly adjusted myself on his lap and clutched him, stationing my hands on his lower back to calm Sultan down."I don't exist for your enjoyment, Vydon," I seethed through my teeth to set the record straight. “None of us do.”He waved his hand dismissively and smugly declared, "Hybrids that cross our borders are not free property. They know what it means to come to Idaho, and my pack members take full advantage of that."Horrified at the thought, my throat went dry. Why would hybrids intentionally subject themselves to the Trenchlands knowing what the Overlords would do to them?"That is a sick practice," I reproached, shaking my head as nausea crept up my throat and I squeezed Lykoan tighter."I’m blown away at how you have been hiding from us. It's so sad that I couldn't have foun
NIA’S POV-Lykoan's lilacs glowed lightly. The wolf within him sneered and snarled. He certainly did not appreciate Vydon’s eyes looming over me as his lips curled into a sinful smirk.Overlords like this one tend to flaunt their power to defend the worthiness of their positions, especially since the dominant realms frowned on their existence."Vydon, you and your man will come this way." Lykoan gestured toward the vineyard estate.Apparently, Lykoan had sniffed out that Vydon brought his henchman on the flight. A younger and bigger, blonde-haired man with silver teeth cracking through his mean scowl, jumped out of the Black Hawk chopper in black leather chaps and a gray vest.Beauchamp landed an aggressive slap on Vydon’s back so that he stumbled two steps forward, but did not fall. The Overlord ground his teeth and whipped his head to the side to glare at him.“Try it.” Beauchamp dared him, cocking a brow up with his broad form intimidating.Vydon exhaled slowly before averting his
Hello Lovelies,I though I would have been able to upload a chapter by now, but as it is, I can hardly find the time to do so.As mentioned some time ago, two relatives passed away in previous months. The first funeral will be this weekend and the second will be held the Saturday before Christmas. As such, there is a lot of preparations to do as well as to accomodate and entertain guest and visiting relatives. Therefore, I am here to apologize about the delay in chapters and kindly ask for your understanding because this month is not so merry for us.The story will resume soon. Thanks for your patience.#Much love!Virtually yours,O'Chantal.
NIA’S POV-Despite the horrific council meeting, it was a really nice day. The sun shone brightly, and the temperature was well above the average.Making our way down the stairs outside to the car, Lykoan put on his sunglasses to protect his eyes from the blinding sun. My eyebrows shot up in admiration. He appeared even cooler. I used my hand as shade as we walked under nature’s intense ball of fire."Please tell me you’re not going to become Mad Max today," I teased, and we stopped in front of the Skoda Sedan. His tall frame was large enough to block the sun currently blinding me, so I allowed my hand to come down from my eyes."I’d rather be a James Bond kind of guy, today," Lykoan replied sarcastically. He winked at me and his lips tugged upwards in a delightfully sinful smile.“Cool, because he’s my kind of guy,” I smiled, dragging my fingers along the shiny zenith gold paint job as I walked towards the passenger door."If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were more excited ab
LYKOAN’S POV-Nia chuckled nervously and asked through unsteady breaths, “What are you—are you trying to say I did magic? Because I can swear on my life that I’ve never so much as thought about it. I’m not even a witch.”“But you are elven,” Caliste strongly debated and exchanged a disturbing glance with me. “And you let her seal your powers. You owe her something. What did you trade to buy her spells?”“I-I don’t know that witch!” Nia practically screamed at her and there was a thick, death-like hush.Caliste peered at her curiously and restarted the feud.“Yet you have dealings with her. Don't you know who that nefarious witch is?”“No,” Nia averred firmly. She pursed her lips, her eyes sharpening.Jacques folded his arms, showing signs of irritation. “Neither do I, so for the love of all things holy, just be straight with us, Caliste.”The pack witch connected me with the line of her gaze. “Are you going to tell them or should I?”Too engulfed in my own analysis, I did not answer he
LYKOAN’S POV-“Well—I’ll be damned,” Tank muttered to Hogan, still in shock. “She's so scary,”“Let's not kill her momentum,” Hogan added in a low voice with his hand in the way to hamper Tank and Josh from advancing. Both of them did not move, but they were definitely pleased at the minor destruction that she had caused. In this case, Nia did not need our protection. Instead, she held the witch hostage with glowing palms burning her temples. My lips twitched, itching to smile.“Nia, let me take it from here,” I prompted for her eyes to meet mine.Still apprehensive, Nia’s messy mid-pony-haired head finally whipped up at me. Anger contorted her beautiful face into a Tasmanian devil. Her orange eyes seethed like embers, and she gritted, “The witch tried to kill me.”“Nonsense!” Jacques roared grotesquely, pointing his finger in accusation. “You attacked her.”Narrowing my eyes, I swung my head in his direction, unleashing a guttural growl in warning.“Even when she’s wrong you choose t
NIA’S POV-“We're not done yet, Alpha,” Caliste politely interjected, stopping the advancing footsteps that had made my golden ears perk up.Using my left hand, I gripped my right wrist, thrashing on my chair as I tugged and pulled, harder and harder. Yet nothing happened, only more coughing and more smoke that puffed out of my ears.My throat felt chafed, dry, and aching. Hissing from the shortness of breath, I clasped my neck, blinking my wet eyelids excessively, and I nearly passed out.My heart instantly ached for my mate. Wanting Lykoan to be at my side and make it stop. My first instinct was to scream for his assistance. However, my voice was lodged in my throat, as if some sort of imaginary block had been placed where my vocal cords were.I gripped the side of my head as a splitting headache ripped through it. The pressure built. Sweat stung my eyes like vipers. I yelped in agony. When will this terrible spell end? Then it happened.I was somewhere else, alone and petrified. I
NIA’S POV-“Nia, we invited Caliste, our pack witch.” Olsen addressed me in a cautious tone with his hazel eyes settling on mine. “To gain our trust, we require that you pass a minor test.”“Are you for real?” Lykoan scoffed. I groaned internally, reeling from the unexpected sting of that one word.“Okay.” I acquiesced with fake composure. Inside, I was freaking out. Test? What bloody test?"Excellent!" Olsen exclaimed with a nod. "I'm glad for your consent. It’s an amicable solution." He smiled, but it never touched his hazel eyes. He was hiding something.Alpha Jacques and his Beta exchanged snarky glances. He gave him a flick of the chin and T.K. moved from his spot, strolling down the table, and going towards the door. It was too late to back out without arousing more suspicion. For a piercing minute, I regretted my decision. Now, I had no choice but to see it through. To steady my heart, I forced myself to remember my initial motivation for doing this…to be acquitted of all the
