“Are you sure?” I asked softly, for possibly the hundredth time today. “There might be more we can figure out before we head back to the lycans.”

“Go,” Isaac insisted again.

It was a monumental effort, tearing myself away from him. But, he pecked me on the forehead and sent me on my way, quietly reminding me we didn’t know when the next opportunity for a night like this would be - if ever.

So I added the if ever part. I seemed to be the only one living with the gray cloud of doom over my head.

Blair gave me a knowing look and threaded her arm through mine to guide me out the door. “It’s just for a night. It’ll be fine.”

This bothered me, though. There was no overwhelming bond between us, but the annoying parts of it were very much present. When I asked Blair about it, all she could do was shrug. There was so little information about mated lycans. Her best guess was that maybe our proper bond would kick in when we were truly supposed to discover we were mates.
