Maise was, for lack of better terms, being a brat.

I knew she had very little interest in visiting the bear pack and only wanted to go so she didn’t get left out, but I had assumed she wouldn’t do her best to sabotage the trip altogether. It started with a mopey attitude and refusing to talk when I spoke to her. When I finally got it out of her what was wrong, she became unreasonably clingy.
